When the car was done I was not told if they found the tire issue, as there was no staff at the counter. Frustrating experience and they have lost my business. I just went there for a New York state auto inspection. Jamar was incredibly helpful. The place was so crowded that I couldn't sit in the waiting room I had to stand in the outer room and wait. The trash boys at this shop tried to turn a $20 inspection (2019 vehicle) into a $1100 donation. I expressed that I am a college kid on a budget, and these boys made up 3 problems to up charge me. I wish I had a better update to this review but I don't. Took my car in for a cracked oil pan replacement on Saturday thinking it would be a simple in and out repair. Dropped my car off at 1 pm, didn't leave until around 7:30pm. For whatever reason, my serpentine belt was removed during the replacement. I was told the belt was giving the guy working on it (David, I believe) trouble and that was what was taking so long. There was absolutely no communication between me and the service manager, Nick, unless I went to bother him, which you would THINK communicating that something was happening with my serpentine belt would be pretty important to do WITHOUT me having to ask. Mind you, they have a window to see into the garage and I always watch them because it's just simply fun to see what they are doing and I always do it. I watched the guy who was working on my car for a long amount of time and he seemed to be doing a whole lot of nothing a lot of the time. Every time I went back to the window he seemed to be doing the exact same thing to my car. Not to mention, he had my front passenger tire off of the car and was STANDING on the tire he removed, was angrily yelling loud enough to hear in the waiting room and towards the end I watched him smoke a cigarette in the garage and also while he was working on my car. I'm talking lit cigarette in his mouth with his head in the hood of my car which made me incredibly uncomfortable. As soon as I started my car to leave the battery light came on and my wheel wasn't turning unless I put my full body weight into it, I immediately went back in and described the situation, I was told that I had nothing to worry about and it was because the belt had been worked on and it would be back to normal by the end of the next day. No mention of anything else being wrong. About 4 miles away from the Pep Boys my car broke down. All of the dashboard lights came on, my engine was overheating and my car was making a squeaking type of noise. I pulled over and opened the hood to see that the belt this guy spent hours messing with was completely gone. By then the store was closed so I couldn't call. I had my car towed to them the next morning, I tried calling multiple times to get ahold of someone to let them know that my car was on her way back to them and I was continually put on hold. When I got there, the guy who was repeatedly putting me on hold was sitting at the computer on his phone which I guess explains why he couldn't be bothered to answer the phone. As I was telling him what was going on, he barely made eye contact with me and only seemed to listen to my partners dad who gave me a ride to the Pep Boys as if it wasn't my car and I had no idea what I was talking about, probably because I'm perceived as a girl. I was later told my belt tensioner wad damaged which was the cause of my car breaking down. Very strange that the guy working on my car was spending HOURS UPON HOURS looking at that exact part of my car and failed to see that there was a piece of the belt tensioner broken? Or, the fact that my car had zero issues relating to any of it until the moment I started her after they messed with my serpentine belt. Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me. Regardless, this was a horrible experience and I implore everyone to find somewhere with competent employees. (p.s. whoever inspected my car at this location back in June was very kind and I had a great experience with him and I wish I knew what his name was but I didn't see him at all in the last few days.) read more

Went in for a clunking sound they attempted to fix what they thought was the cause the first time but the issue was unresolved so they worked on it again free of charge only had to pay for labor of course and they threw in back breaks for free as an accommodation these people really do care about their customers and at the end I left happy so I recommend going here since irs a trusted place and it's hard to find those now a days read more

extremely unprofessional, among other things. i called late last week for an inspection appointment. It was later in the day, but it seemed like i wasnt worth helping, so he hung up on me. I called back the next day, and they actually took the appointment, surprisingly. appointment was for 430 today (11/29), so they decide to call me at 355pm and tell me that they cant do anything for me, and that they cant get me in until next week. i understand that things happen, but i will never call here again. read more

EVERY appt slot was available for the entire afternoon so why did I get cancelled !!?? I came here for a New York State inspection. It took over two hours, they started the maintenance that needed to be done, and then stopped and kept telling me "just a half hour more." To top it all off there was only one person working on a bunch of cars and the employees at the front desk just seemed to be sitting around looking at their phones. They invoiced me for my free tire rotation but did not do it. I also got the synthetic oil change, but, now I'm wondering if its actually synthetic oil. They didn't rotate my tires my last visit either but I had time and had them do it. I also gave them the benefit of the doubt since that was my first visit there and it was close and convenient. I mark my tires so it was pretty obvious. Not getting the service they claim to be providing twice in two visits tells me this is how they operate. Beware. If I could give them 0 stars i would. Took my car to them on 1/24 because my engine light was on. Got a phone call stating different engine codes were coming up and the car had no oil in. Stated an oil change and some sensors needed to be replace, $1476 later I picked up the car. Not even a week later my engine seized and again there was no oil in the car. Called and spoke to Jamar at the store and he proceeded to tell me I had a "rear main seal leak" which no one bothered to tell me. He also told me that this is a job they don't do and to call back the next day to speak to the manager. Called and spoke to Joe, he proceeded to tell me that they DO do this job and they would cover the cost but I needed to bring the car back, I told him it is at another shop being repaired and I don't trust them because they knew the oil they put in the car wasn't going to stay in and neglected to tell me that. He also told me the job would cost $4400! The shop that it is at now is charging me $1600 to fix it. They also told me all of the work Pep Boys did was not needed and they just needed to put oil in it to clear the sensors. They are for sure a rip off. I emailed corporate and it has now been 6 days and I am still waiting for a call back. read more

We traveled to Niagara Falls on vacation. We woke up to a flat tire. I aired it up and looked on Yelp for a good tire store. Pep Boys had great reviews. I went to their website n made an appointment. I showed up 10 minutes early and they looked at my vehicle. It was a nail in my tire that was causing a slow leak. The quickly fixed it and charged me $21 dollars. Sweet!! Now back to our vacation. When we went to pick the car up, it was clear that no tire rotation had been done (the tires are marked so we know if they've been rotated or not). They are charging for services not rendered. By phone.When I booked online,I got there and was told they couldn't get to my car that day .I was cool about it,everyone is allowed one pass so I asked the guy to make me another appt.He did and then told me that,for whatever reason,booking online can be hit or miss and that it's best to do the appt. I have been a customer of Pep Boys for 4 years, but this was the worst experience I have had with them. I came in for a Saturday morning, 8 a.m. appointment. I know that's usually a busy day for them, so I don't mind waiting. Once they finally diagnosed the issue with my car, I said I would pay for them to fix the issue. They told me it would take two to three hours. After two hours, I was told it would be another two hours or so. Finally, I was told my car wouldn't be done that day, but I should have it done Sunday morning. I arrived on Sunday morning only to find out the Saturday technician NEVER EVEN TOUCHED MY CAR! So, I start waiting on Sunday for the issue to be fixed. Again, I'm told several hours. It took all day, but finally, the issue was taken care of. However, as I was leaving, I was told there was another issue that had come up and it was unsafe for me to take the car home! I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY CAR FOR THREE DAYS! THIS IS ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOWS THE PROBLEMATIC SLEAZY BUSINESS PRACTICES OF THIS PEP BOYS LOCATION. But, the cherry on the sundae is that I came to Pep Boys earlier this year with the same issue and they gave me some band-aid fix that immediately failed after I drove my car on a moderate road trip. It's a shame the service has plummeted here because I thought they were a decent business. I was horrendously mistaken. I am through with the lying and laziness of the staff who seem to do a great deal more damage to cars than actual repair work. I wouldn't even trust this place for a simple oil change anymore. Needed to get an alignment done on my older BMW($130). When I called I spoke with Mike who was very helpful with making my appointment even though the shop was very busy. When I arrived it only took a couple of minutes for my car to get pulled into the shop. While my vehicle was being worked on I was able to ask questions directly to the Master Tech Mark that was working on my vehicle. I was amazed at the amount of time Mark was willing to take to make sure I understood everything being done and what repairs would soon become necessary due to the mileage on my car. According to the service member at the store, the online reservation system on the Pep Boys website doesn't mean that it reserves your time selected at the shop. I made a reservation online for an oil change (which is a 15 minute job) for 11am on a Sunday. I went there and the service tech says it would be about 2 hours before they would get the car in a stall. No point of an online reservation system if it's a first come first serve basis at the store. read more

UPDATE on this shop, my daughter took her 2009 Kia in for a simple oil change. $98.95 later she was taken for a ride. Given no information on what the oil change would entail. When I called to speak to someone a " manager " said and I quote " We don't have time to sit at the counter and explain all the services we offer and what is and isn't included with said services. It's a shame that you can't trust a business to explain everything to a consumer before hand and give pricing before any work is attempted. Had my daughter been given a price before hand she would have contacted me and I would have advised her that isn't the service she was looking to have done. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ASK ALL OF THE QUESTIONS AND GET PRICING BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY WORK DONE. I canceled my Sunday afternoon appointment here. They wanted $475 for the same Falkens that their Blvd location wanted $383 for. Of course, I booked for the better price. Sunday morning arrives and this location (Eggert) calls, urging me to come in earlier. They caught me off guard, hijacking me into thinking this was my appointed location. I went in & they did the job. Monday, the Blvd shop calls me to see why I didn't show up. Now, before you think this could be an honest mistake, this (Eggert) location somehow charged the same, lower price, that the Blvd shop quoted. I never revealed the price. Never tried to negotiate it. They mysteriously and silently matched the lower price, keeping the illusion intact. read more

I never dreamed of using a chain for auto repair but about a year ago I was nearby and desperate and also liked the fact they are a repair garage only and not a store with a garage attached, I am not a fan of their Niagara Falls Boulevard location. Anyhow....I am happy to see all the positive reviews here. These guys are professional, their work is top notch and the price is right. I received a quote from the local Honda dealer for a repair costing $203, Pep Boys price $132. I continue to use them and recommend them to anyone, their waiting area is clean and comfortable and there is always fresh (Keurig) coffee. read more

Had an amazing experience this past weekend at this location and Pat was the reason why. I was getting brakes and new tires before leaving on a 1000 mile trip on Monday. He went out of his way to make sure the tires I wanted were delivered to the store for a Sunday installation. I had no idea what was wrong with my brakes and I was prepared for the worst. I made an appointment online for today at 10am to get a NYS Inspection and an Oil Change. Igot there about 20 minutes early and they got my car in almost immediately for service. Amidst the inspection, it was found a tie rod was needed and I was quoted a completion time of about 1pm. Much to my contentment my car was done by noon. The service was quick and friendly.
