Had our engine just cut out on us at a rest area about 60 miles east of here. Tow truck driver brought to us by AAA picked us up, suggested a place (not going to name), and they thought it was a started. This is Friday after Thanksgiving. Wasn't the problem. Had the car towed to here, and these guys fixed it. They came through. I called three different Hyundai dealers, (including one out of state) and none of them could tell me what the problem might be with all of the symptoms given; unable to shift, dashboard doesn't kniw what gear it's in, starter doesn't even engage, relay energizes to try to engage starter solenoid but doesn't, everything else has power. I brought my car to the PEP Boys on Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee, FL in September 2025. They did a diagnosis and claimed that I needed a water pump. I had them repair the water pump and paid $1197.17 for the repairs. On May 5, 2026 I noticed that my car was doing the exact same thing that it was doing before the water pump was replaced. So, I called Steven the "Manager", and he said to have the car towed back in. So, since my car is still under warranty I had it towed back to PEP Boys. Eventually, I received a call from Steven saying that the water pump had gone out again, NOT mentioning anything else as a problem. He also said that the car would be ready for pickup the following Monday or Tuesday. After not hearing from PEP Boys at the end of Tuesday, I called the next day and spoke to Chris. Chris said Steven was off work that day, but he would call him to see what was going on with my car. After talking to Steven, Chris came back to the phone and told me that Steven said he had ordered the wrong water pump for my car and now the car will not be ready until Friday May 15 2026.. I called PEP Boys on Friday May 15, 2026 and again my car was still not ready. The new pickup date changed to Saturday the 16th. So the next day when I called Steven he NOW added that I needed a water outlet housing totalling $592.99 not including the PepGuard Limited Extended Warranty for $61.20. My car had been in their possession since Steven's diagnosis that only the water pump was the problem contradicting his first diagnosis. WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR TODAY IT WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING THAT IT WAS DOING, (RUNNING HOT), BEFORE THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT ON SATURDAY. They kept my car from May 7, 2026 to May 16, 2026 and I still have the same problem that I had when I brought it there in September 2026. Now, I'm out $1197.17 and my car is still not fixed and they are giving me the run around. I have been a loyal PEP Boys customer for many years.. Do not trust this location. Originally I thought I had a great experience getting my battery and alternator replaced, but when I left my car wasn't running quite right and then at night I noticed my headlights would pulse and flash making nighttime driving impossible. I brought it back and they kept it for 10 days before calling me and telling me they don't know how to fix it. So now, not only have I had to pay for rides for 10 days, but I also have to go find a competent car repair shop. I filed a complaint with corporate headquarters and they have not even bothered to follow up with me once. PLEASE AVOID PEP BOYS AT ALL COST!!! read more

At Pep Boys they fixed it, as it ended up being an easy fix and they didn't even charge as it was so quick. Thank you all so much. I had a good experience here. Went in for an oil change and a/c repair, which I knew would be expensive. I had to wait a few days for parts to come in, and the staff was great in communicating with me and arranging a time for me to come back in for the repairs. The staff was friendly and patient answering all of my questions, and made sure I got the best price for an already expensive repair. They even arranged a lyft for me to get to work when I brought the car in. I would come back for future car needs. read more

I had good encounters with this pep boys up until a few days ago. I hate when mechanics try to talk you into getting work done to your car that you do not need. Even worse, I was charged for a service that I did not agree to have performed to my car! This is very unprofessional! I will not be doing business with pep boys any longer. Be careful and be sure to ask for a breakdown before services are performed! A repair that should have been less than $300 turned in to about $500! read more

Multiple problems at this location. I arrived to pick up my car at 7:00 am when they opened and the store was closed. I had to call another location to get them to resolve it. Had to wait more than 30 minutes in the cold rain for the manager to open the store. Then when I was finally ready to check out he tried to overcharge me by almost $700 for repairs we told them NOT to do. Finally the manager made it right after complaining about the whole thing that was his fault to begin with. I hope the other Pep Boys locations are nothing like this one. I recently had a scheduled appointment with them for basic service. I scheduled it online 4 days prior letting them know exactly what I was going to do. I like to get my day started early so I was the first appointment of the day. I got there about 10 minutes before they opened and the asst manager asked me what I needed. I indicated that I had an appointment and told him what it was for. He then told me that the technician that was going to handle my service was going to be a little bit late. I was ok with that so I decided to wait. I was there for about 20 minutes and then the asst manager said that the technician was going to be another 45 minutes. I understand that at times, people get sick or can't come in for one reason or another. They did ask if I needed a ride so that was the redeeming factor in the whole interaction. I had someone come and pick me up instead. I had something else that had to be done and came back in a few hours and it was completed then. Since they the service was delayed, it would have been nice of them to at least call me when it was completed. I chose them for price but the experience isn't what I expect out of a national company like theirs. Also, when I finally picked up my vehicle, the tires which were brand new were very dirty on the sides. read more

Service is awful. We will never give money to pep boys again. The service manager seems to know nothing and does nothing but lecture his inadequate staff or sits on his butt and plays on his phone. We chose here bc the tires were cheap, guess we got what we paid for all around. No organization, no speedy service and no brains. Corporate should really take a look at this location. read more

This is a dishonest store location. I am not saying that all Pep Boys are dishonest, but this store is dishonest. I went for an oil change, and the clerk tried to upsell me by saying I needed new brakes and rotors on the front of my car for a total of $380. I know for a fact that I had a minor break issue on the back of my car, on the passenger side, my car was recently inspected. There were no issues with the front brakes. I went in for a routine A/C Check for $63 and the clerk told me it would be an hour to check the system. So I waited on my car in the waiting area and you can see your car being serviced through the glass. What I could see was them raise my car up in the air, shine a flash light under the undercarriage of the car, drop my car down, Now my car is being brought back around to the parking lot. I watched as the mechanic went to the counter and proceeded to talk about my car to another sales associate instead of tell me what was wrong with my A/C. This mechanic "stated she has metal flakes in her system and no freon in her air conditioner". Also told the sales associated she needs a new system for $1800 to $2000. I had it tested at Kraft Nissan and my A/C is fine. Angry Customer!! read more

Mechanically, they did a great job, and from a customer service point of view, they did an even better job.
