This Pep Boys on North Henry Blvd in Stockbridge is badly mismanaged. They kept my car for over a month with almost no communication. I had to chase updates, received misleading and inconsistent information, and watched deadlines come and go with no explanation. The manager, showed no urgency or accountability, allowing the situation to drag on far beyond what is reasonable. Front desk communication was unreliable and added to the confusion. This experience reflects a serious operational failure. I would not trust this location with my vehicle again and strongly advise others to go elsewhere. read more

Awesome experience with the Stockbridge, GA Pep Boys location! As a lady stranded out of town with car trouble, Kelvin and Pete did everything they could to try to get to the bottom of the trouble. Of course, anytime you get into the car with a mechanic to try to get the vehicle to "make the noise", it won't . But they did their best and made me feel comfortable that the car was safe to drive the two hours back home. And it did, safely. There was no "Well, it might be this and it might be that, so let's fix it ALL". I SO did not feel that they were trying to take advantage of a female customer, and I really appreciate that. On Monday 11/24/25 I had a made an appt at the Stockbridge location at 9:30 am arrived on time and checked in. The person in the front said my tires were worn out from the side. Im like okay, i just got new tires about a year ago and i have my tire person for that. I only come to Pepboys for the alignment because i paid lifetime on my vehicle. Then i was told it would take a while for them to get to my car because only one tech was available that i could come back the next day at the same time since two technicians would be avilable. I arrive and im told that only one technician was available due to the holiday. I could have been told that the day prior instead of telling me other wise and having to get up early and drive up there. Then he proceeds to tell me it would be a long wait until they could get to my car and I ask how long of a wait is a long wait. Then he tells me that there were two oil changes ahead and that they would be an hour each. What is the point of coming in and making an appointment if it's still going to take hours before they start working on your car. Don't even think of coming to this location Holiday or no Holiday they will take hours before your car is checked on even with an appointment. ~DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION~ I have spent the last few months debating about posting a negative review, however I am not going to allow this location to screw over someone else. I had my vehicle towed to the Stockbridge location in September because my vehicle was running hot. While I had it in the shop, I decided to have some other things done, brake pads, sway bar replacement, and some other routine items. I spoke with the store manager Jeremy and was ADAMANT on not needing rotors during this conversation. I was given a quote and agreed to the work I had requested. When the vehicle was picked up, we got told "oh you had already agreed to the price, so we went ahead and placed rotors." The attitude of putting things on you vehicle without CONSENT is dismissive and rude when I told them to put the old parts back on (rotors). I got told oh we already discarded them. Fast forward to a few days later, the vehicle had to be taken back in the shop because it started overheating again and the AC that I had paid 343.00 was not working. A few days later, we were told that they fixed the issue, and we picked up the vehicle. After picking up the vehicle the second time, we were told everything was good to go. the following week, I took the vehicle to have the transmission serviced (their recommendation) at a different shop. Got the vehicle back from the transmission place a few months later (had to wait on parts to be ordered). When I picked up the vehicle in December, I drove less than an hour and a half, and the car started running hot yet again. Contacted the GM, Jared Smith, got no response. Reached out again after Christmas, got no response until January after their faulty work which they certified was done and complete, caused my engine to blow a gasket and the oil/coolant to flood the engine. Contacted corporate and threatened small claims court. They have skirted taking blame. Jared Smith even stated that it was a possibility that his guys didnt recheck the thermostat the 2nd time it was brought in. Now, I am out 2100.00 for their crap work and 5800.00 for an engine that I had replaced in early 2023. Now, armed with all of the proof, I will be taking this to small claims. Got an oil change and left the van for tires to be put on Saturday. They called me half way through the day to inform me the tires needed to be ordered no problem but I need my van on Sunday because I go to work Monday. I didn't receive a call from them letting me know it's ready and when I tried to call to see if it was ready nobody answered the phone now it's Monday morning and I'm late for work Went in with an appointment for 8:30 arrived at 8. For an oil change, returned at 11:30 to pick up the van and they were just pulling it in to do the oil change. I know that many cars didn't have an appointment between 8-8:30. I had an appt at 1:30 on Jan 6, 2023 for a simple oil change. Per pepboys policy, that includes, checking fluids, rotating tires, checking air in tires and sanitizing my car afterwards. I also asked to have a slow leak repaired in 1 tire. I waited 4 hours. Was finally told they couldn't fix the leak, I needed a new tire. It would be another $70.00 for tire, and another $80.00 to put it on. I said fine. They took my old tire off. Then was told they didn't have the right tire in stock. To come back tomorrow at noon and they would have it. I was charged for the tire. Almost $250.00 I paid and only had oil changed. I asked Sheila if my tires had been rotated and the air in tires checked. She said yes. Then I was told no, because all my tires are bald, so they couldn't be rotated. I had bought a new front tire a week ago. When I started my car up, the tire pressure light came on. I went back and told Sheila that they had NOT checked my air in my tires. She said the mechanic that worked on my car had already gone home. Some other guy aired up my tire and I left. The next day, I called pepboys to verify my new tire I already paid for was in. Sheila said she'd check and call right back. At 3:00, I heard nothing and drive to pepboys. Walked in, 3 employees standing around, 1 eating. I wasn't greeted, no explanation or apology. Sheila reaches out her hand and says, "keys ". I gave her my keys and it's now 4:15pm and I'm still waiting. After making the appt, i found a Pep Boys $20 discount coupon on line. After my car was finished and it came time to pay, I was asked to pay $59 and change. I said that I had a $20 coupon. He said, "oh I already applied that". Now he is 1. either a mind reader or 2. he could see through my pants into my pocket where the coupon was or 3. this so called discount coupon is a scam and a device just to get people into their shop and was never meant to be honored. I took my fleet vehicle there for wipers and an oil change. They were nice enough to squeeze me in. So I dropped the vehicle off Saturday morning and told them I would pick it up Saturday Afternoon or Sunday. Forgive me but I'm use to getting a courtesy call once the vehicle is ready. I didn't receive one and the tire pressure is now off because all of my tires pressure is too low. This wasn't an issue when I dropped it off. I'm going to to take this as a communication failure. I called on my way to this location to ask questions. An employee named Tiffany answers the phone and immediately asked me to hold, I agreed and she never returned to the phone. After my 20 minute drive to the location I hung up and walked inside to find her on her personal cell phone. She remained on her phone as I stood in front of her for 10 minutes repeatedly saying "I love you" and having a non business related conversation with the person whom she was speaking with. I didn't realize how in important customers were until today. I then drove 10 minutes to my house and 5 minutes later she called and said the car was done. Ladies, this is the place to purchase your tires! Tyler and his team were fantastic. It took less than an hour and since the tires I purchased online had not arrived yet (holiday weekend) he gave me another set of better tires and I saved $5.00. $5.00 may not sound like much to most but they now have a loyal customer for life. With the 3 other tire companies I have been to, I walked out spending $100 more than quoted. Also, the place was pristine and they had separate bathrooms for men & women that were clean! Rude and unprofessional employees and managers who take over 3 hrs to complete a tire change with a scheduled appointment, then return the car, keys, and paperwork to the customer, wish them a good day, but call afterwards and threaten their customers due to the shops negligence and ignorance. My gf scheduled and paid for her appointment online but after being allowed to leave, was informed she needed to come back to pay (again) even though she explained she already paid online and no one at the desk or register advised the invoice wasn't paid prior to allowing her to leave. She had to drive all the way back for them to charge her a second time and was threatened by a manager who advised he'd call the police and say the tires were stolen if she didn't return. Extremely unprofessional! Her credit info was already within their systems. A smart individual would've checked to see if the invoice was paid before giving her the keys and if the online appt only held an authorization on the card, then they should've submitted/captured and settled the authorization it held which would've charged the credit card without making her return since the order initially took place online. read more

We just came out of the shop a few minutes ago. Long story short - on Christmas Eve passing Georgia to Florida we (family of four with a baby) had a large piece of tarp stuck under the transfer while driving on I-75. Called AAA and they told us someone will arrive within 5 hours. So we got off the highway and called around, this Pep Boys is open! We drove over and William, the service manager, immediately sent two guys working on our car. It took them about an hour to get all the debris out and they didn't even charge us a thing. Brought my elderly mothers car into PepBoys on North Henry Blvd in Stockbridge, Ga. this morning (7/13/2017)to have her coolant topped off because her air-conditioner is cutting off and on. They called her saying she needs new hoses among other things to the tune of $700. But after my husband went up there and took the car home. After a night out with my sister and some friends, we get in my SUV to leave but didn't even make it out the parking lot before discovering that we were riding on a flat tire. Called USAA for roadside assistance and a guy was there within 30 minutes to change the tire. Lord bless his soul, he tried for almost an hour to hook onto the crank to allow my spare tire to crank down but couldn't get it. It's now going on 2am, it's cold and raining. We finally had to call my sister's husband to come get us. Next day USAA towed my car to Pepboys on N Henry Blvd in Stockbridge. When I tell you that Ms. K Walker at this Pepboys location really took care of me I mean it fully. She's the epitome of great customer service. Bruce, Charles, Darrin and the other guys were so very kind, knowledgeable, helpful, understanding and quick to service. Mike was a bit blunt in all communication and interaction, but also knowledgeable and quick to service. Bruce, the location's Manager, was real helpful and the kindest person I've ever dealt with at an automotive place and will be the reason I ever come back to Pep Boys in Stockbridge. Mike, the location's Assistant Manager, on the other hand is very unemotional and doesn't give eye contact when talking to you (or at least didn't with me). When I came to pick up my car, I drove myself in another car and needed a ride to a muffler place less than a quarter of a mile down the road, he wasn't helpful at all, even though there were 5 people working at the time and no cars to work on! He said everyone was on their lunch break (even though it was 5pm and they close at 7pm). There was no need to lie. Anyway, I had to go to the muffler place, tell them the story, took one of their guys, came back to Pep Boys, picked up my car and then back to the Muffler place. So what would have taken less than 6 minutes round trip ended up taking me 30 minutes and made me late to work. Why would I still leave a 4 star rating, well because dropping people off isn't their job - I know that. But... Mike should be a bit more understanding of people's circumstances. I needed a ride less than a quarter a mile down the road - would have taken less than 3 minutes! That's the reason for my missing star. Other than that - they were awesome!! I went on line and noticed they had a sale when you purchase 2 tires and when I called in to make sure they had the tire in stock and that I purchased online, he basically said he can't see anything in the system and that it'll take half an hour to show up in system, by then they'll be closed and had to wait. BEWARE!!! I AM A DISABLED VET WHO WAS SCAMMED OUT OF $$815!! I was here for a service about 1 week and a half ago. I hate to have to leave this tyoe of review because they seemed so nice. I have a traverse and my air went out. In Georgia with children having ac is a must. I made an appointment for Saturday morning at 0730. I explained to them what was wrong with my ac. only works on a high ect.. the back cabin's air wasnt working. The front desk said it would be 60 for them to check it.So I went to the waiting room and waited. 0930 rolls around and I go to the front to see if they found what was wrong and he said motor is still hot they are tryna give it time to cool off. Its 1130. They still havent given me an update.I had clients I am also own a salon, thought that if I came in early enough I should be done in time to service my scheduled clients. So I called my friend to see if she could pick me up and take me to my salon. I explained that I would be right back and he said 1600 it should be ready. I was like what?! Ive been here since 0715! So I arrived at the shop and I recieced a call its now about 1200 and he goes we found the problem we are going to replace three things inorder to fix the problem your looking at 815! I was like okay fix it and I asked about tje warrenties . He also said that I would have to take my car to chevy to figure out what was wrong with it the back ac because he would have to charge me over 300 in labor hours to try and figure it out and I was on youtube and they said that the back blower needed replacing. My mind set is that you get what you pay for and I wanted it done right. So I agreed and he said it should be ready by 1600. So I start on my client about an hour goes by he says your car is ready to pick up. And I was saying to my self that was fast! So I called my next clients and asked if they could shift 30mins back and of course it was okay. I get to the shop they tell me what they did. I was assured that I was good to go and that I wont have to see them again! Okay! The next afternoon I was taking my four small kids and the dog to stone mountain and the car started to get warmer and warmer and then it was hott to the point where we had to roll down the windows. It was 93 degrees outside! I arrive at the park and its green dye everywhere! I was worried because I thought that my car was unsafe to drive I was 40 miles away from home. And did I say that it was over 90 degrees!! I immediately called my husband and he told me to send a pic. And he then told me to call pep boys. I called even though he remembered me he seemed unconcerned with the fact that I just paid a ridiculous amount of money and it not be fixed. He said to me come in at about 8 am on monday because they were closing in about 15 to 20 mins. My husband was went through the roof. He called them Monday before I got there. I explained to them that I had to be gone by 10. I have already given them my Saturday to do it right the first time. So they took it in and told me that they couldnt find out where rhe leak was. And the service techn said that in his 34 years of fixing ac's he'd never seen any thing like it. And then finally he said that it only leaks when you drive over 40 mph. And their equipment couldnt detect the leak because it couldnt simulate 40+mph! I and then they said for them to fix the leak it would be another 500 dollars I was pissed! Because they charged me to run 2 leak detecting tests! Over 200 just for that! And they told me that when they released the vehicle to me they said their was no leak! I was like are you serious!! And then he goes on to say well I dont have any air because I hit a deer. And I didnt find an humor in it. I paid them to run a test to find where the problem was and they said they fixed it and now you want me to pay an additional 500 because you didnt do your job the first time?? He was like we charged it twice and we didnt charge you. I was like because there was a leak! So either i paid 500 so they could figure out where the leak was or leave it the way it was. SO I ASK THEM TO KINDLY PUT MY CAR BACK TOGETHER and I left. I felt like a fool! They took my money and didnt do what they said they would.Which was find the leak! I am not a mechanic thats why I went to the so called experts! Called another repair shop. He was under my car for 10 mins! Found the leak and showed the hose that needed to be replaced! He showed me leaky hose and told me that there was no way they didnt see this day one if they ran the inspection properly! The hose was split and dripping dye. And he fixed the motor mount! I havent had any problem with my ac since! As a professional. If they are not technically sound then they shouldnt take on the job. They lack simple integrity. I will never use this Pep Boys for any further issues I have with my vehicle. I will stick with Chevy! read more

I went there for a oil change and it was screwed up and we were not listened to when telling them what kind of oil. we also got a brand new tire and had to return because of that too. I will say that the manager Tyler tried really hard to make it right. But the thing that basically bothered me was that the two women working there were rude in the tone of voice they used with me one of them stood there and argued with me and when I went back for the tire the other one rolled her eyes when I said I had to get my stuff out of the car. ******UPDATE****** 2/11/2019 I received a call from the individual who is over the Pep Boys locations in this area on Friday 2/8. I can't remember his name or exact title at this moment. He informed me that he had been made aware of my recent experience with the Stockbridge location and apologized for the bad experience. He was professional and very sympathetic to the incident and assured me that my experience is not the way that Pep Boys does business or treats their customers. He recommended that I go to their sister company Just Brakes on Saturday since it's not as busy to have my car looked over. My husband and I went Saturday after he got home from work. We walked in the store and was greeted by a big friendly smile and a hello from the gentleman at the counter. I told him my name and he already knew who I was and why I was there. He introduced his self as Garrett. He asked for my keys so he could evaluate my car in the shop area, refunded the amount back to my Pep Boys credit card for my bad experience, and my husband and I went home. Henry location in Stockbridge, GA on Sunday, February 3, 2019 for an oil change for the first time. This location is 10 minutes from my house. I dropped my vehicle off and came back 30 minutes later to pick it up. I paid using my Synchrony Car Care (Pep Boys Card) received my keys and left. I get to the next traffic light at Flippen Rd and smell a scent but I didn't pay it much mind and thought to myself it's from the technician who worked on my car (Shop and oil smell) and kept driving home which is ten minutes from Pep Boys. As I got closer to my home the smell got stronger. It smelled like something was burning. I pulled in my driveway and popped the hood and oil was everywhere!!!! They forgot to put the oil cap back on. I immediately called the store and gave them a nice choice of words. The representative I spoke with at Pep Boys told me to bring the vehicle back and they will take care of it. My husband took a video of the oil everywhere and the location of where they left the oil cap under the hood before I drove ten minutes back to Pep Boys. Once I arrived I was greeted outside by the front desk representative who asked for my keys and the actual technician who serviced my car who then apologized multiple times for the screw up. The technician immediately popped the hood sprayed a substance under the hood of the car, and then used a water hose to clean up the oil, and then added more oil to the engine. I was so angry I had to go sit in my husband car before the situation turned real ugly! The front desk representative even gave my husband a card that said next two oil changes are free (Sorry Love, I'll stick with the dealership until I die). Once the clean-up process was complete I drove my husbands car and he drove my car ten minutes back home. Once we arrived home my husband informed me that the front desk attendant said she made the manager aware of the situation and I might get a call. I drove my car on Monday, February, 4, 2019 the day after the horrible incident from Stockbridge to the Camp Creek area and had to pull over on the interstate due to my car smoking from the oil burning off. I stopped into this establishment, 15 minutes before closing, needing a new tire. I was met by superior customer service, through Ms. K. She made me feel so comfortable, answered all me questions, and has made me a customer of this estabishment. She is an example of what excellence, and was very knowlegeable.
