I do think I was overcharged for a taillight bulb replacement costing $44.52, but that's ok, it was better to get the light bulb replaced vs. risking getting stopped by a policeman and possibly getting a ticket. On the bill, it looks like I paid twice: $19.99 for Light bulb installation package install labor and $19.99 for small bulb installation labor. I don't understand why I paid two labor fees. The small light bulb should have been included in the Light bulb installation package, that's why it states - PACKAGE. There were no Senior Citizen discounts, which I understand. But the total price of $44.52 for one small bulb installation was ridiculous and quite expensive for a small light bulb that cost $1.99!! Again, the service was excellent, but I am terribly disappointed with the overall cost of installing one small light bulb. I came to the shop for brake service and I received recommendation letter from the mechanic then Waldy who runs the register recommended an extra part that was not on the listed which would cost more in labor and parts. I accepted the labor cost and brought the parts the next day but he decided to charge me double. I knew the price was wrong because the parts store had a Pep Boys next to them and I checked the price. They are is a deceitful and I suggest that you should double check the price. read more

This place has a few unique talents,service is not one of them I would stick to local garages that have good reviews for work, not PB I have had negative experiences with many of their rebuilt parts from the parts counter, but, they do have items that other local parts stores did not.. Motors, computers, and some more common parts that other stores had to order 2 days away. This availability despite claimed "lifetime"warranty included will pose a question to someone like me. If the car is needed tomorrow and a possibly inferior part (like power steering pump) is available today and goes out next month causing me to replace it again, and again. would it have been more worthwhile to rent a car while a different store orders a more reliable brand of pump (even rebuilt) causing me to only work on it once? These questions have accompanied me raising four kids with cars, and driving 2 of my cars over 300,000 miles read more

This place always disappoints. All I ever need from them is an oil change and they take literally 5 hours to do it I've been waiting in their lobby for that long. Brought my car in at 11 and I'm still here waiting on my vehicle it is now 2:41. This is ridiculous I would say I was a walk in today but I've also made appointment here before and they take just as long. It shouldnt take that long to get a simple job done. Also they can't complain about being short staffed because their front workers are sitting on their butts watching videos super loud on their phone that i can hear them not working on anything! Got my car fixed there recently. I had a tune up and oil change, and needed to fix the pipe that connected my gas tank to the gas intake (where you put the gas in the car). They quoted me the part and it was pretty expensive ($250+), but I needed to have it done so I paid for it all up front and waited for them to call me when it was done. The day after, I came in and got the car. All fixed, but it turned out the part they got was the wrong one, and I needed one that cost less than $50. They gave me a refund of the difference, including tax, and I was much happier. Since I'd paid up front, they could have just let me take my car without saying anything and I'd have never known. Kudos for honesty and integrity. Their auto shop is neat and clean. I noticed they clean up after each car they work on. Nothing laying around, tools are put away. The service I got was good. The mechanic even came over to say hello and briefly talk about the repair. There was usually at least one service rep at the desk, and if the service desk was unmanned, it was only for a minute or two at a time. All in all I was very satisfied. They're my new regular mechanics. read more

About an hour before my appointment time I get a call from Pep Boys, they wanted me to reschedule my appointment because they were TWO DAYS behind on doing oil changes! They actually said that to me! How in the hell are they two days behind on performing oil changes? REALLY! What's the point in scheduling an appointment, if the people you hire can't do the job they were hired for! read more

After going to the location on San Pedro, I was told to make an appointment. I drove all the way back the next day and then was told that they didn't have the adapters for my tires. I made an appointment for the location on Marbach which was across town. I got there and they said there alignment machine was down. I asked why didn't they call me and let me know? These guys were exceptionally nice and courteous when we were in a jam. It was about 8:50pm and instead of turning us away, they happily patched up our tire and even place it back on the car. What's the point of making an appointment if people who get there after you leave before you and it takes 5 hours to do simple brake pad changes. I ordered something online. Got an email saying it was ready. I went later that day to pick it up, and they didn't even have it. They told me to come back the next day. The day after that, I received an email saying my order had been cancelled. I called the store, and they told me I had a "bad phone number." I had a great experience at this Pep Boys. I needed some brake work done and called several places. They gave me the best rate of all the places I called. I was able to bring my own brake pads in, so they just charged me for labor. Robert was very helpful from start to finish. He explained different price points, and called me before beginning any work on my car to make sure it was ok. They were even able to get me a great deal on new rotors, saving me a lot of money. This location is amazing! I unfortunately bought a bad alternator and needed it replaced ASAP. Pedro was great and had my account set up before I even got there. he also had the price set up and was better that what I had expected. My truck ended up losing power in the middle of 5 o'clock traffic and I needed towing assistance. I called the store and option 5 directed me to someone who could help and towed me to the Pep Boy location that I wanted. When I got there, Sergio took care of me and made sure my truck was done before closing. All of the staff was very friendly. Went for alignment with coupon and was charged a "Shop Fee". this is like going to a barber and being charged for using the scissors. Be aware of what they are doing and hidden fees. They removed the fee when we made a stink but that fee negated the coupon. We also never got a readout on the alignment so I called and found that they have not been able to find our paperwork....really....isn't this 2016 and everything computerized? Can't tell if work was done now or not? read more
