I went there this morning 8:00am an old man at front desk says how can I help you. I tell him what I believe my issue is with my car and he's like well that can't be this or that. Then ask me could it be something else. Like wth if I knew what the actual problem was I would've told you from the start. Then says we're booked you'll have to wait a couple of hours. You knew your schedule before I started talking to you. It felt weird walking in. Always trust your gut. I left went to Pep Boys willow grove. He listened didn't question me. Fixed my car same day and on the road to my 3:00 appointment. Hope you read this sorry 3 letter word old man!!! I don't recommend going to Glenside Pep Boys a waste of time!!!! read more

I have been going here for all sorts of car issues and with different cars for a decade. You honestly can't get better. The people are knowledgeable and the customer service is great. I trust them fully and even though I now live far away, I make the drive because I know they will do a great job. read more

Inspection time, 1000 miles since last inspection 1 year ago, some where else, new wipers. Pep boys wipers again, said they streaked-for $75.85? Last year rear brakes were ok with 5/32 . pepboys put on the rear new pads and rotors for $610.05 .Pa law says if less than 5000 miles per year-emissions is waived, pepboys charged $39.99 I guess they saw me hobbling on walking sticks as I have Parkingsons disease, and retired. read more

Pep Boys - Auto Repair Near Me - Glenside, Pennsylvania

Glenside. Do not use this pep boys. Took my car there on Sunday 5/8 they tried to rip me off for rear brakes, pads, rotors and calipers for 1300 bucks. Got my car to K and R tire and cut it to half the cost. I guess it was the Sunday i'm screwed price but sorry. Didn't work. PEP BOYS SUCKS. read more

I'd give 0 stars if i could. I decided to stop in instead of driving all the way to my usual shop. They tried to charge me $750 for an oil change, brake pads and rotors and when I asked them how much these parts cost to purchase, (because i've purchased these myself in the past and knew they were overcharging for labor) they avoided the question. i found a coupon for the oil change because no way i was paying full price for it and got the rest done at my usual shop for less than $300. also, evidently customer service isn't a strong suit. don't fall for this bs just because of the big name. read more

I brought my truck in for four new tires. After having the tires replaced I discovered the next day that they put the wrong size tires on the front of my truck. If I didn't happen to notice the mistake it would have never been corrected. I brought it in the following week to have them replaced. I waited in the waiting room, and was subjected to the salesman watching racially charged video on his phone. For some reason I guess he doesn't own a pair of earphones. This store is the worst. read more

My daughter needed an oil change and a tire rotation on her 2020 Lexus. She took it to Mike and the guys at Pep Boys, after the dealer told her it'd be a week and a 1/2 before they could see her. They did the oil change and a complimentary tire rotation, which the dealer charges $29.99 to do. They explained the recommended preventative maintenance that was needed to be done and made sure she understood what services she needed. She said she felt very comfortable and confident with the service she received. Thank you Mike you will be seeing my BMW next week. read more

Aron was so helpful when we were looking for windshield wipers when we went to 3 different places and they didn't have them we called him and he found them for us and tried to install them ending up being the wrong ones but made a quick Phone call and will at advanced auto parts came in amazing and saved the day with the right ones read more

From repeated experience in this shop I can say 3 things: 1) the mechanical staff do good work; 2) most items are fairly priced; 3) Fat Mike will try to upsell you EVERY SINGLE TIME. Mike obviously has a profit sharing arrangement with Manny, Moe and Jack. But, hey Mike, just listen to the customer, and give them what they ask for. read more

I had gotten two flat tires due to potholes this week and both times pep boys were a great help. They fixed my first flat within the day and the second one because the rim was bent so badly they were unable to do the work there, but had gave me a place to try and said they would hold an appointment to get my tire put back on. They were quick and helpful for me and very nice as well! I recommend as I felt taken care of and valued as a customer. read more

I like Pep Boys fine, but stay away from Glenside. Rude, gruff staff that were in no hurry to check me in quickly when I dropped off my car before work, but suddenly turned all smiles when I came back six hours later and it was only just going up on the hoist. Because a 9:30am appointment really means 4pm, right? Just plain unpleasant guys, who apparently don't seem to think anybody can tell when they're being screwed with? Avoid at all costs. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! Overpriced, rude, arrogant, dishonest. Do your research, get second opinions, this place is preying on people that lack basic car maintenance knowledge. Do not go here you will be taken advantage of. read more

This is the WORST pep boys ever. Horrible customer service. They literally tell you not to book online bc it's inconvenient to them. Also, on more than one occasion, I have been sent away with them telling me that the problem I went in for (tail lights being out) were not out and working. This was completely incorrect, as my tail lights were most definitely out. It was close to closing time which is my guess as to why 'they noticed nothing.' Needless to say, I ended up watching a YouTube video, bought the lights myself from Walmart for $3 and easily installed them myself. Waste of time even attempting to have this location fix my light issues. I also have been turned away when my headlight went out being told it was too complicated to fix and they didn't know how to replace my headlight ( I have a Prius). Beyond frustrating. read more

No ethics, no integrity, had no intention of fixing my car. They will happily lie to you just to get the diagnostic fee. I wish I had the time to go over everything they did wrong, but I'm saving that for customer service. Usually I'll give the employees credit for trying, but they didn't. Everything about this place is awful, STEER CLEAR. read more

I've been to 4 different Pep Boys locations in and around Philly, but the Glenside location seems to be my favorite. They are always so damn nice, easy-going and attentive--with nunna that patronizing condescension that so many of us ladies often experience when checkin' up on our auto parts. My most recent visit was this past Good Friday. I had the extreme pleasure of hitting a mega stank pothole that bent my tire rim. The shop was pretty busy when I popped in--and I always seem to pop in without an appointment--and they let me know it might be awhile, but they squeezed me in. This gave me the perfect opportunity to stroll into some nearby places I usually just drive by--which was awesome! (If you're ever here waiting, just walk down the street and sidle up to the bar in the Blue Comet. You will be fed and your thirst will be quenched in the loveliest of environs! The consignment shops along the way are also fun to peruse.) At any rate, after about an hour my car was ready to the tune of $30, which was less than I anticipated! read more

I don't want to single out the employee working the cash register.....but the customer service here is horrific. I made an appointment so I could fit my headlight replacement into my busy schedule. I get there and he says they needed to push back my time by 3 hours???? What a joke. The guy working the register was rude, slow, old, and not abiding by COVID mask policies. I have always had good luck with pep boys, but this one is just a bad apple. read more

I'm not from this state but my boyfriend that lives in the area need some service done on his car. I was recommended to this place by a local. At first I was hesitant due to the location of the place and whoever I spoke on the phone gave me an attitude toward me. When I came in for an oil change, they took my information and vehicle for a service. I waited for about 45min-1hour wait. I was fairly surprised on how they did their maintenance. They made sure they took care of my car and what I asked for. They even do a complimentary car check and tell you right away if there is something wrong with the car. For me it was a tail light out so they told me they would fix it and gave me a price. I agreed to it and only because I figured why not? I came here solely for oil change but they said they would do a free tire rotation. Depending on the car, my oil change was starting at $38 before tax. I ended up leaving the store paying $53.55 (I added my tail light to be replaced). They even gave me a rewards member card so that was cool. Glad with my service and will be coming back. read more

In need of time there was an appointment made to get a car inspected @ Pep Boys on Easton Rd in Wyncote, PA. The appointment was made for a Friday afternoon. For whatever reason the appointment wasn't honored and they needed to keep the car overnight. The following day the car failed inspection. I understand that because of their attempt that payment needed to be made. That attempt cost $71. What wasn't understood was the need to remove the still valid inspection sticker that was on the windshield when it was brought in. Thought that was removed when new stickers were going on. Not here. Now the car doesn't have anything for inspection stickers and it's being driven daily. Legally it's now worse than it was when it arrived. Previous work on another car was completed at this Pep Boys too and their prices are on the high side. Almost $870 for a short distance tow and a starter. Never again for my family. read more

Crooks. told me my car needs a special kind of oil for an oil change and it would cost $70 and they couldn't "legally" use cheaper oil. I've owned this car for 10 years and regularly change with normal oils- I've even had it changed at the Pep Boys before. And it's just a Pontiac, not some F1 race car. Crooks. Avoid at all costs. read more

Been using the Glenside store for upkeep maintenance on an Infiniti I've had for 8 years. Oil changes, tire rotation and balancing, brakes and inspections have been accomplished w/o problem and with efficiency. Customer service is exemplary, and the waiting area is comfortable and does not ever seem crowded. Ability to set an appointment online is great. Highly recommend the team at this Pep Boys Store. read more

After recently breaking down on the Pennsylvania Turnpike . I was towed the pep boys on Easton Road. Looking to get back on the road as soon as possible I was given nothing but aggravation attitude and disrespect. All I needed to do was to replace the tire or fix a flat. I bought all four tires two years ago with the road hazard warranty. When I rode over a nail, the man behind the counter said it could not be plugged and would cost me $75 for a new tire. After having a second opinion, I was able to have my tire plugged for $10. read more

I would give this place a negative star review. They are bunch of scumbags. Brought a tire in to get fixed they said it was un repairable. They said it had to be replaced and that's it would $350 for a new tire. Then when I showed back up the new tire didn't even match my other 3. I had them put on the old "unrepairable" tire back on. Next day brought it to a real tire place and it cost me 20$ for the repair. read more

This place is so shady and I will never come here again. My boyfriends went to get an oil change not that long ago. He have been having issues with his car recently. He took his car to a local shop and they informed him he has NO oil. The indicator says he should have 40% however it looks like someone from Pepboys did not not do the oil change and he still got charged. This place needs to shut down or do what a customer is asking for and not try to sell me services that is not needed; oh that was also what they did to my car. read more

I'm not one to post reviews, good or bad, however my experience today just left me in disbelief. I went in to get a single headlight changed for my Nissan van, I was quoted a price of $127! For a SINGLE headlight! They said it was an hour's worth of labor and a difficult job because the bumper had to come off, I've seen it done before and I knew it wasn't that way. He said that's how it had to be done. I went down to performance auto in Roslyn, they didn't have the part but told me if I went to advanced auto and bought it they would install it. The part cost me $17 and I was charged $10 to install it... and it literally took him about 2 minutes to install the headlight, and no the bumper didn't have to come off. It was so easy I can do it myself next time. read more

Very helpful with flat tire. Went beyond expectations.

Took our car in at 12:30 for a 1pm slot inspection as we need to hit road asap and was told by the guy that it won't be a problem. Walked out for 1.5 hrs lunch and came back to find the car still hasn't been work on and was told that they won't be able to look at it for another 2hr. They skipped our car to work on the bigger jobs! Total waited time 5hrs for an inspection, wasted half a day. Dishonest customers service! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. The end of July of 2018 I went to get my car state inspection done and thought if would be convenient to go near my work. Greg the Service manager looked at my car and said I needed new Brakes, rotors, tires and some lights were out in the back. I said that is strange because I got new brakes and tires last year. I wouldn't need new rotors because I keep up with the upkeep of my car. I told him to put my car together, I am not paying him anything. Greg said they do the vehicles right, insinuating my Mechanic has no clue. I than bought the car to my mechanic and I did not need these things, My bill was $150 in inspection and minor things. When I told friends about this they were not surprised on Pep Boys shady business practices. Where as the money hungry Pep Boys was going to charge me over $1,000 in work I didn't need. Congratulations Pep Boys you lost a customer and everyone is being notified of your shady business practices. I won't even go into your store to buy an air freshener. read more

Went here for an oil change and a flat tire. Very Quick service. I thought I was going to need a new tire but They told me I would be able to just get it repaired!! How honest. In addition to the quick service, their waiting room is extremely accomodating. It features a Free Keurig Machine, usb charger ports, and a soda machine. There is Also a 711 and dunkin donuts within walking distance. The guys here are sweethearts. This is the only auto shop I feel confortable coming to. Thanks Pep Boys! read more

I shop at Pep Boys pretty often, and in a fairly wide variety of locations, so this review is aimed exclusively at this specific location and the service/staff there. Brought my car in to have my battery checked and to diagnose a loud noise coming from one of my wheels. I had called 2 other nearby Pep Boys' asking for an immediate appointment and none were able to do anything today until I called this location. Real nice guy on the phone, answered other questions I had for him. Guy was wearing some sort of blue shirt with a little red text saying "Toyota" something. I spoke to him when I got there. When I walked in, I was surprised about how small the store was. Most Pep Boys' I've been to had more actual retail space, but this one had maybe one quad sided retail stand in the center of the room with 6 rows on each side of small products like air fresheners and lip balms. Oh, I can't forget the rack in the corner, holding all sizes of Rain-X windshield wipers. I personally like the Pep Boys locations I've been to that provided a little more in the way of browsing and shopping; I enjoy looking at parts and mods to budget myself for. Thankfully, they didn't sacrifice workable space too, what with a 4 door and very wide garage. They also have a large selection of tires available and others to be shipped in. Straight in the door, if the registers and door to garage is to the left, and you're on the right side wall, you walk forward past the windshield wipers into a comfortable waiting room. Straight ahead is a long hallway to the bathroom. Very solid store for comfort, not so great for retail, but they gave me a free lookover so that's dope read more

Dishonest. I went in for an oil change. They said i needed $1200 worth of work, some was stuff i knew i needed and others were bogus. They said i needed new lower ball joints. I told the, they had just been replaced less than 8 months ago (ball joints don't go bad that quickly). He was trying to convince me that my serpentine belts would cause damage to my engine if they broke. Not true - your car will not work, its not dangerous to you or your car. Both my brothers are mechanics but live out of state. They said I needed a new battery because I had corrosion, I thanked them but said I only wanted an oil change! That is all!!! I might have listened to them for the other stuff had they not thrown the bogus ball joints and the crap about the serpentine belts at me. Oh and i needed a tuneup which i knew and I am quite capable of doing it myself. The tuneup was valid - and I knew about the serpentine belts needing to be replaced. I thanked them and told them that i just needed the oil changed. When I picked the car up they had a list of other 'recommended' repairs. shocks, struts, breaks, suspension.... basically rebuilding the car.... if you want to be believable then don't try to over sell... I drive less than 10K miles a year - They totally turned me off when they said i needed new ball joints. nope... I might be a girl but i'm not going to be taken for a ride poop boys! read more

My husband & I brought our car there to get the tire plugged. It was 20 minutes before the store closed. The guy that worked on our car was very pleasant. And there was no wait time. Because of the great service, we will definitely be back! read more

I got a flat tire caused by a nail piercing my tire. AAA came and put my donut on my car. The next day I brought my car to this Pep Boys establishment. As soon as I got there, one of the guys there looked at my flat tire. When he comes back, he tells me the tire was not repairable and "was sorry to be the deliverer of bad news", but not only did I need a new tire, but told me I now needed 4 new tires since I had all-wheel drive. My car is a 2017 car. I said there is noooooo way I'm doing that. I told him if I bring my car to the dealership, and I do not need 4 new tires, that I was going to write a review to expose either their incompetence or their con (I do not know which it is). Sure enough, I brought my car to my dealership, and although it was not an easy patch job (they patched it from the inside of the tire), they were successful in patching the tire. So at the end of it all, it cost $27 and my dealer even gave me a coupon for a free car wash. Meanwhile if I were stupid enough to believe the three Stooges (Manny Moe and Jack), I would have been looking at hundreds of dollars plus they probably would have snookered me into an alignment too. I will NEVER go there again! Not to be trusted!!!!! read more
