This is my third visit to Ken's Automotive…read more I brought my car back to Ken's for an oil change and made a separate appointment for brakes. I was shocked by the price of an oil change (it was higher than Jiffy Lube and Midas) but the price for brakes was less than what I have paid in the past at other auto shops. I'm still in sticker shock of the oil change but the upside is that I'm a 5K mile change instead of a 3K mile change due to the limited driving (car is 11 years old with 93K miles). I have an appointment to replace my car brakes which barely based the annual inspection so at the time of this review, my car is with the shop awaiting for repairs.

I did not go in an immediately ask for him, instead I let the transaction flow to see how I felt. I was treated very well by Fran and Bill at the front desk but what I truly appreciated the most was being taken into the installation area and shown exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. A huge portion of the pipe was completely rotted through. After getting my estimate which was quite reasonable cuz I did do some research, I explained to Bill and Fran about my previous experience and they were completely apologetic and as gracious as Jason had been. My work took a little while but the accommodations were good. Rapco has a spacious waiting room so distancing was not an issue, a tv and plenty of magazines to keep you occupied. Very happy with my visit and plan on coming back for that Yelp check-in offer.

Turns out, it was a wiring issue, which they fixed while I waited. They also did a general once-over on the car, and added some air in the tires at no charge. It was really quick, and everyone was very nice to me from the moment I walked in. I even asked whether it was worth it to get the starter replaced just in case, and they said no. Dennis' knows their stuff, and they aren't going to jerk you around to make money. It really seems like they care about the work they are doing, and I was impressed that they were able to diagnose and deal with the issue so quickly. I had a great experience and I won't be taking my car anywhere else while I live in Philly. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone, especially Volvo owners. They were extremely professional, and as a female in her 20s, I felt comfortable trusting my car to them without having to worry about being ripped off. I also appreciated that they were willing to discuss the issues with my car over the phone before I went in. P.S. - There's another repair shop on the same street that also starts with D. It's not that one! Keep going a block down and you'll find Dennis'.
