I booked my tire installation online two weeks in advance. The price was clearly stated as $25 total for installation, and I already paid for the tires online. When I arrived, they said they had no record of my appointment. Even after I showed my confirmation, they insisted it wasn't in their system. Then they told me the installation would be $30 per tire ($120 total). I declined and asked them to return my tires so I could go elsewhere. Want to say how wonderful Midas on Franklin Avenue is. Went to Pep boys this morning for an inspection. Walked home and waited to be told it was ready. Got a call that it wouldn't pass inspection Because I had a nail in My tire and I needed a new tire. This is the third tire in as many months for my family. The cost would be $325. I picked up the car and went to Midas. Not only did they fix the tire at no charge but did the inspection as well. No more Pep boys for us. Only Midas from now on. Thanks to Anthony at Midas. A huge thank you to the Pep Boys Team that serviced my son's '14 Camry today. I called from Georgia inquiring about purchasing tires and he was so kind and patient and listened to me as a female. I purchased 2 tires online and they help me with scheduling his appointment for the next day. My son, who's in college at LIU, was assisted by discussing and showing him the 4 needed tires vs 2 and reviewing his brakes. All this with me on speaker phone asking questions. Once again, they were kind, patient, and thorough in helping me understand what was needed. Pep Boys Franklin Sqr has always provided excellent quality service for my BMW 428i. I had my front rotors and brakes replaced 2 yrs ago and it went great. Recently I had the two front thrust/control arms replaced and they saved me $600 from the dealer price. The workmanship is excellent and they are very professional I recommend them. read more

Waste of time. I had an appointment and was told they'd start right away, knowing we're goint to wait there. Went for a walk, an hour later they haven't even started. If I had known, would have gone home and come back later. Small place with only 5-6 seats and freezing AC. Their quote was rather expensive, too. I don't see any reason to come here again. read more

I brought my vehicle in for a dead battery issue and an oil change. They charged 59.99 for a diagnostic charge, 112.77 for oil, 44.98 for air filter, 259.99 for battery. My bill came to 630.39, with their labor fee and taxes. This is oil change and new battery and filter . read more

We have had the worst experience at this Pep Boys. We have paid around $3000 to have brake pads and rotors changed. My husband has gone back around four times and our car brakes are still making a terrible noise almost every time I stop when driving. Twice we were told it was a sensor issue, paid a few hundred dollars for a new sensor and the car still sounds horrible. Stay far, far away from here. Never going back to Pep Boys again. Stay away, unfortunately this spot is a scam. I gave them a perfectly working car for a simple oil change. They gave me a "free" inspection and told me that there are "nails in my tire". I told them I would get it replaced at BJ's where I bought them because I got the extended warranty which covers nails. All was fine till I got home. Tire was completely flat. It wasn't even a slow leak, just flat. I called them up to complain and ask them to make it right and patch my tire, and Sherwayne told told me "go back to BJ's or whatever and get them to fix it." He put me on with the service manager, Rhoan Sterling, who was also the person who performed my oil change, and he said when he put the car on the lift, the tire was leaking. What are the chances that a year old tire decided to start leaking on the lift in Pep Boys who tried to upsell me tires before I told them I was covered with BJ's warranty. I gave them multiple chances to make it right, a simple patch I would have accepted. Shame. I should have went to Midas or Jiffy Lube even though they were more money. I guess you get what you pay for. I should have read the reviews better, this is a common scam with this location. read more

these peoboys are no different then the ones in elmont every receipt i have there charging for a inspection which the car does not need. The NY state inspection is done once a year and the three times i went last month i got charged an extra 50$ for an inspection. This business cannot be trusted with any vehicle do mot spend your hard earned cash with these scammers.!!!! read more

I am giving 3 stars only because the car is good now, the mechanic did his job, knew what he was doing, good job. 2 stars for everything else: It was an emergency and I picked this place because it was nearby. The workers up front and the girl mumble, no personalities. You have to ask them a few times about the car..it's seems to be all a big secret. They don't explain anything. I ask followup questions...they just give you a stoic, deer in headlights look. Slow as molasses. I left the car there...she said about 2 hours..became 3, then 4, then almost when they were closing! Simple job! Simple part! No phone call, no apology...no thank you, no have a good day. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! After spending almost $2000 over 2 weeks at this shop, we are taking the loss and bringing our car to another shop to start all over. They charged us for things we never asked them to do, and the problems we brought the car in for were only fixed for a few days before reoccurring. The manager tries to get out of honoring the warranty on work they've just done by making up reasons that the "new" problems are not related to the previous work. They are 100% scam artists. I needed 4 tires replaced. I called Saturday to give the information to the manager Ray. He said he had the tires in stock and I said I would drop it off Sunday morning with the understanding I needed the car by 1:00pm. He said no problem. Dropped off the car Sunday and reiterated I needed the car by 1:00 No problem he said. Well car wasn't ready no call to say there was an issue. Was told it would be done shortly. Well No it wasn't. I had to wait until Monday to pick it up. Then the tire gauge light comes on Monday night. I call up Tuesday morning spoke to an Andrew who said they would look at it as soon as I dropped it off. Well 5 1/2 hours later I walk over to Pep Boys and they hadn't looked at it. This is how they treat long time customers? I didn't get me car back until Wednesday morning. It was a simple adjustment on the tire sensor. This is the second time they replaced tires for my wife and I on two different cars and screwed up the gauge sensors. There motto is "At Pep Boys, we put our customers first." Well I don't see that was the case here. read more

As the hot days are approaching and summer is around the corner I have no AC in my car. Came to a Pep Boys facility for my first time ever in Franklin Square. I met Raj the cashier and desk clerk. Raj was very polite and professional as soon as I walked in the store. Antonio was the one who repaired the AC of my Jeep by doing an extraordinary job by making my AC unit blow ice cold air. He also took it for a test drive and assured that the AC unit was in proper working order. Went here on 5/09/21. I call first to see if they had someone to put a headlight bulb in. They said yes told them be right over that I was at the King Kullen across the street. Went there waiting in the office for 20mins. Noone came into the office I could see people in the garage. I am sure they could see me. Only when I walk out and got into my car did someone appear. Horrible customer service and service. Had my brakes and rotors replaced here. Within two weeks, my rear rotor actually fell off while I was driving, causing my tire to lock and me almost to crash. Was able to get it to a service place up the block, $200 later had it fixed. They explain one of the nuts wasn't put on tightly. Fast forward another 3 weeks and my brakes don't feel right and the wheels are pulsating. Bring it back to them, they tell me nothing was wrong with it. I was livid. Bring it to another shop, and of course the rotors are warped and all need to be replaced with the brakes. Rather than go back to Pep Boys, I would rather have quality work done and pay to have it all done again. read more

I came in with a flat and they replaced my tire for $230!!! $40 more than other places Then I called around to get a quote for three more and they read me the WRONG INFORMATION! And I ordered three tires online to a much better auto shop and they were the wrong tires! The tires online at tire rack were $40 cheaper each and the installation at pep boys was half!!! So I gave this place 5 stars the last time I went to them. I told my husband he should use them too! So he did! Now I'm updating my review to one star. The receptionist is terrible. I slipped and fell on the ice walking out of the shop and all she did was smile awkwardly at me. I told her to stop smiling at me and to put salt down. I'm pregnant and took a hard fall. There was a guy up there too. A man. He literally did nothing. Wasn't even phased. Neither of them asked me if I was ok. I don't think I deserve to be treated better than anyone else. This isn't that kind of rant. But common courtesy? Really? Never again. I really hope people actually read these reviews. There's so much more I could write about their customer service in general but I honestly don't care enough to even try. Never again. read more

If I could I would give them a zero star rating. I Took my vehicle in for a synthetic oil change. I took the coupon in with me. I said I wanted the high mileage synthetic oil change three times. I also wanted my tires rotated which is supposed to be standard with an oil change. What I received was paperwork showing a standard oil change charging me $27 which was fine and I also received paperwork that said my tires were rotated. I however marked my tires before I took it into Pep Boys and my tires were not rotated. I would avoid this garage. I am beginning to doubt they even changed my oil. read more

Charged $90 for an oil change on a 2016 Honda Civic in pristine shape. When questioned over the phone regarding this charge, Omesh had absolutely no explanation for the overcharge apart from the fact that they had to use extra synthetic oil. He told me to call Raj the manager if I had a problem and chose not to rectify this issue. Stay far away from this place. Utter highway robbery and wretched customer service. Then informed me that they don't have the equipment to tell me which sensors are no longer working. Long story, short I needed to spend a day in the dealership to fix their mistake. I am sad to write this review, as my family are loyal PJs customers but the friendliness has not transpired over to my auto services. Pat, one of the brothers, is downright rude and nasty. He intimidates his customers and he doesn't take time to fix the problems you bring your car in for. I brought my car in because I smelled burning rubber coming from the engine. "I think it might be a grease leak," I told him, and he snapped back at me "No, it's probably a plastic bag that got pulled under the car, that's usually what is is" and kept insisting despite my protestations. I may not be a mechanic but I know the difference between a plastic bag burn and a grease burn. I brought it in, he claimed to have fixed it and then charged me to fix my axle as well, which wasn't even the problem. I drove away and it still smelled like burning rubber, so I call him and he immediately starts yelling at me that it will smell like burning rubber for at least a day. If that's the case, A) tell me that when I pick up my damn car and B) IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ME AS A CUSTOMER, DON'T MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A MORON. Four months later, my car still smells like burning rubber. Jimmy is much nicer and remembered my family and has helped me on several occasions, but it's not worth bringing my car there if only because I cannot stand Pat. I have found a much nicer mechanic who is honest and does not pressure his customers into getting unnecessary work done. Pass on this auto shop if you don't want to spend your life savings repairing your car. read more

Great place to get your car fixed. I recently was given an estimate for my tires by Mavis that I thought was too expensive.
