The hoses- 5 feet of 3/8" and a custom hose for the car ran me about $30 total. The radiator was about $100. Spending $100 - $200 on car parts from here is much more reasonable than having someone do it for you for about ten times the cost. I also love to sneak over here after an oil change and save about half the cost of getting your air filter replaced by the lube shop. I'll probably come back here if I have any need for car parts again - and with a Sebring that has 176,000 miles on it, that will likely be soon.

Finally, he checked the battery (had only 6-volts) and told me that he'd bet that both the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. He should avoid casinos.

I needed an alignment and Luke came out and showed me the numbers and about 15 minutes later it was done. Make an appointment and pre order tires to what you want so that they have them there and it should be a quick appointment. The business was clean and neat. I never went into the restroom so I cannot comment about that. The truck tires were cheaper online from them, the alignment was average. The only complaint I have is that I have a lug nut socket that doesn't scratch the rim and they didn't use it. I will check the torque and check the rims. I don't think they were scratched because it's usually the younger kids that don't know how to use the air gun.

Mike, the owner, told me that if I didn't want to replace the transmission that he would suggest getting a new car. I asked if he could just give me an estimate for the part I was told to replace. He said no, that I wasn't the shop for him, and to have an amazing day and hung up on me. When I called back to see if he was the owner, etc and asked why he couldn't help me, explain to me, etc he was very condescending and said some people just don't want to hear what they don't like. I 100% understand that the customer is not always right, I understand that not every business wants every customer, I would have understood if he asked to look at it first to confirm the diagnostics, I would have been fine with paying for that service but to be so rude from the get go was shocking. I also understand that in looking for transmission work I am paying for their skill as it is a specialty that I don't have, I'm sure there are few enough of them to where they can be picky but to be rude and hateful when I'm just trying to understand so I can weigh options is uncalled for. I will never call them again nor will I recommend them.

Near the beginning of August, I began having some trouble with my car bogging down when the gas pedal was pushed. I took my car to a local small shop and was told that the Idle Air Control Valve needed replaced. They ended up clearing the check engine light (more to come on this later). I was unable to afford the cost of the repair at that time and I kept driving it. Last week, my car bogged down to 25mph on the highway. I was scared and knew that the problem had become much worse. I called the original place I took the car to and they were unable to fix it until Tuesday. I called Pep Boys and they told me to bring it on in. I had the situation under control (or so I thought), I had purchased the Idle Air Control Valve and just needed it installed. I arrive at Pep Boys and was kindly greeted at the door and immediately provided service at the counter. A salesman began talking to me about the problem I was having and suggested that I have a diagnostic test done. Me, being short on funds, thought that it was just a way to increase the cost to the customer. A Manager, Joe, was helping a guy next to me and explained that if they work on the problem found with the diagnostic test, that the cost would be taken off. The man the Manager was working with also came in with his own part and had them install it and it didn't repair the problem. I could see the frustration on his face and I could tell he had wished he would have done the diagnostic test. So I played it smart and said let's test it. Within minutes, the Manager, Joe, was outside with the tester and running the tests on my car. It came back saying there was a misfire problem with the second cylinder. Well as mentioned above, the initial test that was done indicated there was a problem with the idle air control valve, but where they erased the computer- Pep Boys didn't see that error on their equipment. None the less, they took it back to do a more detailed diagnostic test on it. Not to make general stereotypes about women, but I am a woman and there are only a few things I know about cars. 1. Where to add oil, windshield wiper fluid and brake fluid, 2. how to check the oil, 3. where to add gas, 4. how to change a tire, 5. how to change windshield wipers and 6. how to change speakers. The "basics" I guess. They (Manager- Joe, Service Manager- Jerry, and Sales- Jeremy) all kept me up-to-date on what was going on with the car. They brought out diagrams and explained things in detail and in laymen terms. Ken, the mechanic who was working on my car, also did the same thing- when I was brought out to my car in the garage to be shown exactly what was going on. Ken is very experienced and thorough. He worked through many trouble shooting issues to find and fix the problem. I can not say enough about the staff there- Joe, Jerry, Ken, Jeremy, Billy and Bruce!!! I wrote each of their names down to make sure that I would be able to give them all the recognition they deserved. Even though I was there all day (and my rear did get a little sore from sitting) they kept checking on me, keeping me updated and above all they were professional. Many thoughts were running through my head while I was waiting (mainly regarding the cost) and seeing their smiles and calm demeanor kept me relaxed and confident that they would take good care of me. They behaved in very courteous ways (opening doors, saying 'Yes, mam' and explaining things to me so I would know exactly what was going on. I have had work done to cars all around the city and the service at this Pep Boys completely exceeded my expectations. In the end, I am so happy that I went with Pep Boys AND had the diagnostic testing done. I had more than one issue and the small shop would have fixed the idle air control valve, took my money and sent me on my way with a car that wasn't drivable. I have my car back now, it is running like a dream and I couldn't be happier. This Pep Boys is about 25 minutes away from where I live and I will definitely return. Upon leaving, I said bye to everyone and they all bid their farewells. Almost like when Norm would enter Cheers!! I told them I felt like family there and I would be back. Car trouble is very frustrating, but when you have guys like Joe, Jerry, Ken, Jeremy, Billy and Bruce- you know you are in good hands. A+++++++ work guys!!! Manager Lynne makes this store worthwhile. The ASE certificate above the counter has her name on it. She was good to me. She had a belt sent "overnight Fed EX" to get it from a far away place the next day. It would have taken "five days" to get it because it was a "special order part".Pay attention to what I write here people. Most parts stores DONT have ASE certified parts managers working there! What is ASE? You ask It's Automotive Service of Excellence. It is a test of automotive knowledge in a spacific area. Manager Lynne is certified in "Parts". This is required just to work in some dealerships. They don't give the certificate to morons. You have to take a very complicated test each year. The questions are sometimes vehicle specific. Some mechanics test but DONT get certified because they can't pass the test.Do you want answers to fix your cars symtoms?Or do you want a professional to help you get the right part to fix what is the actual cause of the problem your having? Outside of expensive parts departments at the dealers,this IS the place to get parts in Cincinati,Ohio. I know I have traveled the country in a 40yr old RV. This location was amazing, including the person that took my appointment, the technician that did my repair work, and the manager on duty. They all made my experience the best it could possibly be. I was looking at a large repair, but they did all they could to help reduce the cost with all available discounts and then the technician was able to save my caliber, which saved me over $350. Best possible service in all aspects of the business. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need; which is huge to me, and they made sure I was out the door quickly and with the least possible expense. read more

pep boys is awesome. i have gone there for 15 years. the service center is very nice. i came in the other day with my wife's car ,she had broke down and i limped the car in - no apt.and it was saturday at closing time. pep boys got on it right a way.they found our battery had shorted out and would not run the car any more. within an hour they got us up and running,at a reasonable price.while i was in there . i was talking to the other customers waiting - they were also old pep boy customers and were happy with the service. thanks again for the quick and reliable service. read more

We were able to get the better tires and drove the car home (to our garage), Saturday. Saturday night, we found out the new front passenger tire had gone completely flat. Sunday morning, we called AAA, who put the spare on, and I made an online appointment with Tire Discounters -- same location. Monday morning, I contacted John and explained the situation. Not only did they pick up the vehicle, they fixed the tire and looked over the car to make sure everything was running right. They also fixed a heating problem due to a radiator flush. They dropped off the car the same day, which provided my family and I much needed peace of mind. I can't thank them enough for all the hard work they put in for our family's new addition. Thanks to Cam, John and the rest of the crew at this Tire Discounters facility. I would HIGHLY recommend this location to take your vehicle. You will be glad you did.
