I set up an appointment to get something checked on my car because of an odd sound I was hearing. When I arrived, they were very nice, listened to everything I described and took time to look at it. At one point they came over to the waiting area to update me and said what they thought it was but that they were still checking. In the end, they removed a plastic cover over the back of the wheel that wouldn't effect it workings of the wheel when removed. I drove it home and had no issues. Since they considered it just an inspection, they didn't charge me. It was very kind of them since they spent roughly an hour trying to see what my car needed. They were fair and friendly. I went in to buy a tire the website said "in stock" once I got there I was told there is no such part number in their system. They sold me the wrong tire I tried to return it on Saturday and was told no returns on the weekends. On Monday they did the return but charged me a 20% restocking fee, so essentially paid $40 for their mistake! read more

I had a bit of a Sunday emergency. I heard my brakes squealing and knew they needed immediate attention. Pep Boys was one of my only options to get them replaced the same day. The advisor was very friendly but also extremely busy. Unfortunately he was all alone. Most of his mechanics were out too. Although my service was good I was disappointed in lack of management presence. Staff seemed extremely overwhelmed because of it. read more

They are inexperienced and over-priced. They misdiagnosed my car and overcharged me for the labor (by double what local mechanics charge) and didn't even fix the problem I came in with. I had to take the car to a real mechanic to fix the issue. Communication is terrible -- the front desk says they are going to call you, but never do. Do not use these Pep Boys. Set up an appointment for 3:30pm for tire check up coz' 2 tires was losing air, came early at 3:15pm so I can get the check-in process done .. Left vehicle at their front parking lot .. At 5:30pm I noticed that nobody had gone inside or check in my vehicle and its still parked at the same spot.. I have a ring car cam installed inside thats why I know nobody had check my car still. First and last time here. Had a 3pm appointment for an oil change and to have tire sensors checked/reset. We were told it would take two hours. Got a call around 4:30 with an update on the tire pressure sensors. At 6pm, after hearing nothing further, we finally went back to see what was going on. They said the needed to charge the device to reset the sensors and it would take a while longer. So we wait. At 7pm as they are closing they tell us the device is still not charged and we will need to return tomorrow. They had the car for 4 hours, when they told us 2, the car is still not done, and now have to return tomorrow! Juan was the manager on duty and he didn't even come out to apologize. I get it, stuff happens. But all they had to do was call when they discovered the issue with the device not being charged. They could have given the option to either come get the car and bring it back in the morning, or leave it and pick it up in the morning. Instead, they waste our entire evening because they don't have the courtesy to call to inform us of their mistake. Absolutely terrible customer service! read more

I am very big about who fixes my cars, This was the first real big maintenance my car has needed. Joseph the store manager answered my phone calls when I had questions on the work being done to my car. It needed to have a coolant flush and my radiator was cracked as well. They also picked up my car from work and dropped it off for me. All staff kept sending me updates and approvals and even explained to me the work that was being done before hand. Shout out to both the people who worked on my car as well thank you. I use to go to Joseph when his store was a 3 mins drive away. He has now moved to a new location 25 mins away and still took care of my car. Definitely will keep bringing him my car and others as well. Thank you everyone at that location. read more

Yesterday they over booked and rescheduled .. so i came at the new time.. new apt given i get there 10am and they say i need to drop off my car and come back by closing! Its not a drop off appointment its AN OIL CHANGE!!! So they rescheduled for today noon it is now 130 and I have to leave and my car is still parked in the same spot as when I got here and no work has been done. I will start off by saying, I didn't want to bring it here but I'm left with no choice so nobody else gets done the way I was done. I usually only make yelp posts if an experience was good but not today. Pep Boys, I've done a lot of service with you guys over the years and it's always genuinely great service and experiences, but Pep Boys on Beach and Lincoln in Anaheim has to be the worst. On May 6th, I took my car to be repaired due to leaking from under the car and having a check engine light on. They took my car did a diagnostic check on it and determined what I needed. Called me and I okayed the repair, my car was ready that day, I picked it up and drove off fine no problems. May 17th I'm driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my check engine light comes on, I lose power to my car, my car slows down, the low oil pressure comes on, and I'm stuck on the side of the freeway. I turn the car off and turn it back on and make it to work. I get to work and what do you know, my car is back leaking again and the check engine light is back on. The next day I take it straight to the dealership. You're probably wondering why I didn't take it back to Pep Boys, After dealing with my car stopping on the side of the freeway, I just didn't trust them to fix whatever was wrong with my car again. So to make a long story short, the exact same thing that Pep Boys "Repaired" was the exact same thing that the dealership had to replace, but for way more money. I was pissed. So I just let the dealership repair my car. Picked up my car and called the manager at Pep Boys ( Juan Morales ) and told him what happened. He asked me "Why didn't I bring the car back to them?" then I told him that it started to leak again, and he says "Well it was leaking a lot when you brought it in to us." In my head I'm like, "THAT'S WHY I BROUGHT IT TO YOU GUYS TO FIX." I don't want to make this any longer, he asked for the invoice from the dealership and I'm thinking cool he's going to be a good guy and take care of me, boy was I wrong. After sending him the invoice, I didn't hear from him again for a week, and I had to contact him. He says he's waiting for his AREA DIRECTOR to respond, that was MAY 20th, its JUNE 20th and I have yet to hear from an AREA DIRECTOR OR JUAN MORALES. Contacted him via text May 23rd no response, same on June 14th, no response. Don't act like you're going to help take care of the issue and don't take care of the issue. I really really didn't want to do this but JUAN MORALES handeled this situation super unprofessional. So I'm not saying don't go to Pep Boys, I'm just saying if you do go, don't go to this location. read more

I have been going to this shop for 30 years. They did some conversions by building a new customer service center. However, the service manager would take the orders from the customers in the past but now they have secretaries taking them. I was told I needed new wiper blades and air filter during oil change but I just replaced those recently. There is something strange going on at this location with the change in management and personnel. I am going to need to go somewhere else. Came in today to get them rotated and found out one side of my car wheel studs were damaged. I never been to any other tire shop other than them. Who ever installed my tires obviously didn't do a good job and I won't be coming to this shop anymore. I am a car guy that loves my cars and trucks, and normally am reluctant to bring my vehicles to anyone - choosing to do all my own maintenance and repairs since I am so picky and often find myself underwhelmed when others handle my machines. My truck had some serious issues recently I could not tackle so I took it over to this location as it is within walking distance from my house. Charly and his team went out of their way, well above and beyond the extra mile to ensure I was completely satisfied with the repairs.. and the way my truck drove and handled was better than ever after they completed the repairs and then performed an alignment and balance on my finicky lifted 4runner! It is hard to find some one that truly puts the customer first and does whatever it takes to ensure the job is performed to my expectations. Charly and his team have made me into a customer for life, and have already gone back to this location for more service.. This is the most pleasant experience I've ever had with Pep Boys. After a horrible and grueling 6-day ordeal with Pep Boys Fullerton--I had to deal with Fullerton's pettiness because they "fixed" my regulator and messed up my door causing it to not be able to open the door from the inside of the car. I was so fed up and didn't wanna come back that I'd rather have a busted door and have to roll the window down and open my door from the outside than ever have to put up with them again. CONVENIENTLY after 30 days--the regulator that was "fixed" by Pep Boys Fullerton collapsed. Then came Pep Boys Buena Park with Sal and Charly. I know what you're thinking--why the heck would I go to the same company that messed me up in the first place? Because it was recommended to me by my oil-change guy down the street! He spoke so highly of Charly I just had to give it a try. I had low expectations coming in and was worried I was gonna get turned away or treated poorly but both Sal and Charly were super nice and accommodating. Not only did they fix the busted regulator, they went ahead and fixed the door as well AAAAND!!! Whatever grease stain it was that Pep Boys Fullerton left on my driver side door was long gone! They even freaking cleaned the door's cloth interior! I can't express just how delightful this experience is--especially for someone who doesn't know anything about cars. This place was is very shady.. Been to Pep Boys for decades and the brand in general is good, but this specific stores employees are very rude and up charge for services. Every single time I've came here to this store they always give me different prices for the same parts and they never have a reason to why the up-charge in price... The main issue I have with this shop is that the reps always treat the customers like they are bothering them and that the Cx's should be grateful for the mechanics to even take time out of their "busy-day" to do work on our cars... Makes me sad to think about all the people they managed to pull this crap with adding more stress to a already stressful situation... This place is not going to last if they continue with this unacceptable relationship with the community.
