So, all you people out there who have never visited Waimanalo Country Farms, this is your chance. I did the hay ride. You get to hear a live story from the driver. No such thing as prerecording. It's like a historic museum ride about this farm. This farm strictly ran by a family of six generation if I remember correctly. I also got to try their lovely pumpkin pie and sweet tea. They were extremely fresh and good. I like to believe that they made it from scratch since they have all the ingredients.

We visited because we saw ads of the pumpkin patch and wanted to check it out ourselves. Military gets an entry discount for visiting too. This place also offers a riding tour on one of the trailers, there's also one for kids on a different ride. The most interesting part is the farm, we love seeing cute and small animals, the goats were the most active at the location, the donkeys were also loud. You can also feed the goats by visiting the food booth and paying one of the staff members for a cup of dried green bites. We took lots of pics, it was getting hot for us but what ever, it's Hawaii. Our favorite part was the sunflower field, it was away from the crowd and we can choose any lane to take pics, just watch out for bees if you're afraid of them or can't tell between wasps, yellow jackets or bees. It looked like a lot of the good pumpkins were already picked out so the pumpkin field looked pretty decent, the swing that's at the pumpkin patch area was a nice touch though.

Sundays have all of that plus baked goods and a few beverages on the second floor. Many vendors providing samples so that you can try before you buy. My mom was looking for mixed cut fruits, though there's only one vendor with cut watermelon, every one else has whole fruits, and mainly vegetables at their booths. Ample free parking located out front. I stopped by a few of my favorites, one being Dip Into Paradise that specializes in local made butters, jams, syrups, and all kinds of snacks. They don't have a storefront, so make sure you get all your items from them at the farmers market. Or have them shipped to the comfort of your homes; free shipping anywhere in the U.S. on orders of $100 or more. The uncles running the booth are super kind, knowledgeable with their products and very accommodating. I do wish them all the success on their endeavors. Overall, the market is worth checking out, if you're looking for some snacks, fresh fruits and veggies to hold you through the week!

I suppose it's not really the most exciting farmers market if you're more familiar with the KCC one or ones where there's many prepared foods vendors. Love this Manoa Farmers' Market in Manoa Marketplace as I needed a break from errands and thought that a quick drive up Manoa would be it and after a some lunch and visit to Fendu Boulangerie for a breakfast bite tomorrow I noticed some tents in front of the post office area. With what seems to just four vendors two are selling vegetables all are pre priced and packed making it very easy to browse and shop, there was an art seller and lastly was for some flowers at $5 for a small bunch it was just right for the butsudan and I just loved the lavender shade of anthurium. No veggies for me today though there were some that I wanted but had more errands to run but know that they're here and is a quick and easy place to find some fresh produce and veggies along with supporting local. Thank you!

It's not your usual "farmers market" with fresh produce though there are some grab and go treats and even some food trucks/carts which is a wonderful way to take the much needed break or like me to get your day started as your brain still need that help to bloom, but what you'll find are more of a crafted items that are very unique find. I have to admit whenever I need an escape I do absolutely love to browse around the area of the many lots Lokahi Market in Kailua where majority of the lots are shaded and whatever the weather is you're fully covered. Sometimes there are special events like on this day the humane society was there to show the many cuties looking for home and is so touching to see that many was adopted...very sweet! Come down to Kailua and see all the cool various vendors every Sunday from 9am to 1pm on Uluniu Street though as around there are three lots and though there are many vendor that are there regularly there are some pop ups that makes it's special appearance as it's never a dull moment here in Kailua. Far from a large scale production of a farmers market on Oahu, the Kaimuki Open market definitely…read moreisn't one of those. Close friends (if you come here enough times) and deals can be felt here on a daily basis. It's a very definitely small scale operation that takes up very little room and scores up many delightful fruits and fresh produce for your daily needs. It's not much of a theatrical production, as the larger farmer's markets in various spots around urban Honolulu and across Oahu, but there is some value associated here. It's your usual cadre of local residents that want to enjoy the fresh produce that comes with farmer's markets, but want to be within the reaches of Kaimuki town. The Kaimuki Open Market could be categorized as a small niche of people bartering and selling among themselves, but why do it in the public eye? Not sure about that, but I guess it's the way it is here and buying among friends and family is like that, along with passers by who are also looking for a great deal as well. The overall experience here was definitely pleasant, but weird at the same time. I'd come back here more, if the farmer's market either at Kapiolani Community College did not have the stuff I need. The Kaimuki Open Market is neatly tucked away in the side streets of Kaimuki town, located on 12th Avenue across the street from the First Hawaiian Bank - Kaimuki branch. They usually operate on Saturdays, Is use you where I see them. Not sure if the do this open market on the week days, but I will be surprised if they do. If they do, it will probably during normal working hours. Usually cash will be king here, since I do not believe they take credit cards at all. Luckily there is a major bank next door or across the street, namely First Hawaiian Bank and Bank of Hawaii. Parking can be plenty for all, if you use the municipal parking lot but you would have to pay money. There's always street parking nearby but there will be some walking involved to get here. Of course, there is no admission fee, so that's always a good thing. Sometimes I will see someone new in the neighborhood buying stuff from here and it's always gratifying to see familiar faces periodically on the weekends. While you won't find vendors that will cook up a tasting meal, you just find a small assortment of produce that is fresh and compatible with whatever you are cooking / preparing for the day or week. Take this opportunity to venture out in your comfort zone and come here, as the alternative to supermarkets, Costco, and other nearby localized farmer's markets in and around town. Since I do live nearby, I thought it would be a nice gesture to check things out here on a recent Saturday and hit up the Kapiolani Community College mega farmer's market later on. For me, it was the perfect opportunity to get what produce I needed for work and home, while being quite close to home really. I can shop here on the weekends and know that I can get the best price and deal for my hard-earned dollar, as well as seeking other deals for friends and family by shopping here. While Whole Foods and various supermarkets are are very much in the Vinicity, shopping here at the Kaimuki open market can be adventurous and be out of your comfort zone. It's always nice to look at first. You'd probably would find something you're looking for, but for a better deal. Support local! B+ *1400th review and 100th first to review on Yelp! Yeh!! :)

Potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, papaya, banana, lemons, and much more. I appreciate markets that have a good selection. I also like there location! Lots of options for parking either on the street (12th ave is closet but also kokohead ave or Waialae). There are 2 big parking lots (one is metered and one is gated) I would go to the gated one because it's free for less than 10 or 15mins but metered you need to put something in it. I will definitely be back to this market!
