    The studio

SUCH A COOL PLACE. The studio isn't easy to find, but once you do, you feel like you've uncovered a hidden treasure. The people who work here are some of the most creative and interesting people around. The studio itself has beautiful lights and design and makes you want to start making your own projects. Their mission is the best part because despite all the coolness, they are all working towards a greater good. They salvage unused material from demolitions or junk yards and put it to use in the community (in a beautiful way). There are PUP chairs at Indy bus stops that were saved from Busch Stadium when it was torn down. They love having volunteers and are a great cause. They have set volunteer hours once a month and it's only for two hours at a time- very doable. Should definitely check it out!

    Volunteers!

Mike Cento is a true craftsman. He took 2 pairs of shoes, resoled them, cleaned them up, polished…read morethem, etc., and now they are like new shoes. One of the pairs, my Footjoy Classics Spikeless, stopped being produced in 2009 so I wasn't sure how difficult of a project this might be for Mike. Turns out they look better than they did when they were new! More support, better constructed, and they look brand new. Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them. The price is right at Cento Shoes and they carry all the good and necessary shoe care products to keep your shoes in great shape and well nourished. Jennifer who works in the front of the house is just amazing and super kind. She got me taken care of in no time and while I was there picking up my shoes I got some new socks and shoe care accessories too. Cento Shoes has been around longer than I have been alive and Mike Cento has the same passion for shoes that I do. Footwear is really important to me. If it is important to you and want support a locally-owned family business of 50+ years that brings footwear back to life, go see Mike and Jennifer at Cento Shoes, you will not be disappointed. Mike is like the Obi-Wan Kenobi of shoe recrafting. He has a new customer and a friend for life. Thank you!!!
