My husband wanted a tonneau cover for his Dodge truck and we decided to check out Pensingers. Friendly service upon entering and Zack was very helpful. He showed us the different covers they sell. What's great is they have them on display and you can see and touch them. That helped a lot. My husband decided he liked the Leer folding cover and he purchased it along with installation. Their prices are very reasonable which is another plus. A few weeks later we received a call that our cover had arrived and was given an appointment today. It took a little more than an hour but that's a good time. Our truck looks great... my husband is very pleased with Pensingers. In Jan. 2017 I purchased a camper shell from Pensinger's in Bakersfield, Ca. Gerardo and staff were extremely helpful, professional, and over 3 years, I have never regretted my purchase. The shell has held up under all kinds of weather including rain, snow, and freezing conditions. In addition to the quality of the shell's durability, Pensinger's customer service did not stop at my purchase in 2017. Today, I tried to figure out why my interior camper shell light was not working. Between myself and a friend, we spent an hour attempting to locate the cause. Unsuccessful, I called Gerardo at Pensinger's to explain my situation. Gerardo spent at least 5-10 minutes to describe to me possible power sources the installers would have used when they installed the shell. Within a few minutes of my discussion with Gerardo, we located a broken electrical wire in one of the areas he suggested, and we completed the repair. I live in Northern California and although there are many RV service centers within 100 miles of my residence, my next camper shell purchase will be at Pensinger's in Bakersfield. These people installed our awning on our RV which we waited for the awning for two over two months they install the awning over our propane cabinet which meant we could not open up our cabinet to get our propane fill propane or get our tools I called them and they're after our number the dispatcher Michelle was so mean claimed that she couldn't get a hold to anyone she would take a message poor service tell me that they didn't know that they installed that Ani over our cabinet and knew that we could not get into that cabinet they knew that and yeah let the RV go that way knowing that we were leaving town the very next morning for a day in the morning very disappointed in this recommendations not to go here bad service They should know that they should check their service before it goes out would not recommend this read more

I come to Pensingers to buy parts for my travel trailer. They are a meat and potatoes store when it comes to trailer parts. They do not have a lot of frilly little camping gadgets and stuff to decorate your campsite. They have what you need to keep your trailer in check and rolling down the road. We needed to buy a pump for our trailer a half hour before they closed and we were not going to make it to their store in time. So we purchased it over the phone and asked if they could put it outside somewhere, and we would just pick it up. They happily obliged. A few minutes after they were closed we received a phone call from them to tell us that someone tried to steal our pump that they had placed outside. They had to chase the guy down and retrieve our pump from the thief! We were still 25-30 minutes away, and the gentleman from Pensingers said that he would wait in his car, with our pump, until we got there. They went above and beyond to help us get that pump, and because of their amazing customer service, we had a wonderful first time dry camping experience this last weekend. Good customer service is hard to find. When I walk in I am always greeted and they offer to help me find the parts I need, unlike the big store at the south end of town that most of time only offers help if I'm looking to buy an rv. Pensingers is smaller and doesn't have as big of a supply in stock but can usually have it for me the next day. These guys know rv parts when I try to describe what I am looking for. They have a big catalog and ordering something not in store is no problem at all. I needed a brown screen door slide but they only had white and black in stock. Fernando ordered it and I picked it up the next day. I also appreciate that they have propane. I just go inside and let them know I need propane, one of the staff fills my tank, I pay and I'm off. No waiting in a long line to pay. read more

I find that they have a well stocked supply of items that are needed for repair of our RV that many shops just do not have. I ordered a Snug top shell for my 2015 Toyota Tacoma, I bought the top of the line model came in rite at $2900.00. I washed and dried the truck before I left to go to Pensingers and have the shell installed. The guy I ordered it from no longer worked at the shop so I found someone to help me. The counter guy and I inspected my Tacoma for damage before they took in for the install. When I picked up the truck they had chipped the paint on the side of my door, I showed the guy who had helped me and he agreed they did it because it wasn't there before. Inside the shell there is two rust marks (stains) on the carpet from front too back on both sides from where they picked up the shell with the forklift attachment the carpet is also permanentlly matted down. They sent me to a body shop for the chip in the paint but I can touch it up myself and the the truck will just have a blemish on the side. Very disappointed in the whole experience. read more
