Pretty cool place if you're a kid. Essentially just a bunch of randomness glued and bolted all over the place. A good amount of activities don't work as everything has had its fare share of use. Either way, my kids love this place. Now as a parent I have to say what the real fudge? How are you going to DOUBLE your prices? I use to rave about this place being great fun for the kids and friendly on the wallet but now it's "Daddy this doesn't work." "Well sweety just pretend to have fun because we just spent your college fund to get in." If this place dropped some serious fundage to legitimately update everything, I could get over the increase but that's not the case. You can polish a turd all you want, but at the end of the day it's still a turd. You guys suck. Won't be getting my business again. If I recommended this place to anyone on here, my bad. read more

I was looking for somewhere to entertain my 3 year old. This place is worth checking out! They have these wierd hours so make sure to check before coming. Place has a lot of curiousitys and instagramable corners. They designed these with kids in mind and you can tell how accessible things are for short toddlers. Nice place to have your kids start wondering about science and physics. read more

We showed up for the 3-5pm session and got right in. It's really an inexpensive activity which is always nice (just $5 each) My 4 kids (15, 13, 8, and 6) had a lot of fun exploring and learning about science. We liked the demonstration and that he taught science but used words small children could understand. Everything is hands-on. Each room had a different theme and if you take the time to read and explore there is a lot to learn. There was plenty to keep us busy for a couple hours. We broke up into groups and did a couple scavenger hunts at the end. So glad we stopped by today. read more

We took 2 kids, ages 3 and 5, to this fun place. It was amazing! Just the right amount of time, fun, weird and unusual stuff. The inventions, time machine, glow in the dark, "science-y" stuff were entertaining. All-"hands ON." So fun to not say, "don't touch that!" Math, music, communication, kitchen, lights, x-ray, hot air balloon basket, and so much more! Check their "busyness" schedule for existing groups. If I could give a half star I would. I use to come here with my girls and have seen this place go down hill. One of the first few times I came I bought my daughter a snack. I believe they were nachos and they were expired! HOW CAN YOU SELL EXPIRED FOOD TO PEOPLE. Then the last time I came (and last time I will ever come) was during the carnival it was $10 to get in which is ridiculous for a museum where everything is broken. Me and my two girls was $30 and the lady in the front with short black hair was very rude when I told her I was surpised by the price. I was very disappointed with her "customer service". Overall this place is going down hill. Spend your money elsewhere there are plenty of other museum who treat their customers with respect and won't sell you expired food. read more

I guess I had too high of expectations from all of the reviews. I drove 45 minutes to come here with my daughter who is 3 and was very excited about "playing with science." We went in here and spent about 15 mins tops before she announced she was ready to go. She is too young to read the displays and too independent to want to listen to Mommy read the displays... but too old to be entertained by the numerous "here flip this switch and make a light go on" displays here, which I bet appeal to babies. It might just be her age that is the problem. She liked the black light maze but she was most interested in the organ and piano which, haha, do not work. I wanted my money back, but their no refund policy is clearly posted. I wonder if this happens often and they just can't refund everyone whose kids spend only a few minutes here. I have to say it was very, very small with few things to really play with and handle. Mostly old typewriters and buttons to push. For my daughter's age, at least, I prefer the La Habra or Hemet children's museum, which are full of pretty well-equipped dramatic play areas, the Santa Ana "Taco Bell Kids Discovery Cube" (I feel ridiculous saying that), or the California Science Center. All of the above have much more to do and play with inside. read more

What a wonderful place for kids to use their imagination and explore! My children and I stopped in on a whim. We loved the hands on exhibits. The decor is so nostalgic and cool. There was a fantastic experiment that the kids loved. There was a birthday party there at the same time as our visit but we did not feel as if the museum was too crowded. Great gift shop with a wide variety of gifts at many different price points. We look forward to coming again. read more

I came in on Saturday the 24th and my child had a great time. But on the way out, it seemed as though the two ladies in the gift shop were inconvenienced by my questions and just wanted to keep gossiping. I stood there for a while waiting for one to acknowledge me and then the greeting was not welcoming, but rude. We really want to come back again, but not if we're just an inconvenience. read more

I brought my kids here when they were little... then my nephews and nieces. My nieces we're disappointed today about how many of the exhibits no longer work. I have to say I agree. There were way too many switches and activities that don't do anything any longer. There are some cool new additions. My eldest notice loves the light wall, for example. There also seem to be more instruments. I did enjoy the demonstration done by one of the professor's assistants. She did a great job making it interesting for even little people while maintaining good scientific vocabulary. read more

This place is AWESOME!!! My cousin and I took our kids here last week and they loved it! My daughter is 2 1/2 and her older one is almost 4, and, even though they're still too young to understand all the science behind the exhibits, they had a super fun time just being able to play with stuff and touch everything without us saying, "Put that down! Don't touch that!" I think it'll be even more fun for them once they're older and 'get' more of the scientific stuff. I wouldn't mind going back without my kid to do their scavenger hunts (I think they told us they were 22 total, with #22 being the most difficult), but that would just be weird, since it is a children's museum. Next time I'm going to visit when it's not 100 degrees so I can explore Old Town Temecula. read more

Been going here since we moved to Temecula in 2003. Great place to take the kids with lots of hands on activities, which is great because kids are usually told to just look and don't touch. Well not here, touch anything and everything within reach and explore. I took my daughter here when she was 7 (now she's 17) and came back with her little sister (who is 7) and it brought back a lot of memories for her and made some new ones for our youngest. The attendants were nice and helpful. The store at the entrance had lots of cool toys that you might not find at a regular toy store. Just a great place to take the kids for some fun quality time. read more

Seems like the public always gets limited times to visit due to field trips or their weird session times. It's a matter of convenience for the museum not for kids. Paid full fee for less than 30 minutes to use, because my toddler will be napping when the next session starts. Not a happy camper. read more

Didn't really know what to expect when going to Penny Pickle Workshop. I was kind of confused as to what exactly kids do there. However, after walking in and seeing the intricate design, well thought out layout, rooms, experiments, projects, gadgets, gizmos, knobs, switches, lights, displays, and activities. Words don't do it justice. It's just a crazy, wacky, hand on, kid-friendly environment. Best of all, it's educational! My 1 1/2 year old boy was in heaven. All the switches, buttons, and knobs, he was free to press, touch, twist, to his hearts desire! I was just killing time while my daughters enjoyed the Girls Only Club. Definitely will be going back very soon throughout the summer and bringing friends. I love that it meets kids curiosity and allows them to play their way through the museum; which is the best way for kids to learn. read more

We love this place so much we became members and try to get there as often as possible... Our 5 year old loves to do the scavenger hunts and I love the fact that they have sessions so there's and end time (otherwise my little would stay all day) between sessions they clean and sanitize all the "hands on" surfaces. I have a 7 year old and 4 year old and they both enjoyed every bit of the museum. We need to make another trip back to discover everything we missed. Everything is well laid out, clean, and entertaining to the kiddos. They loved having the freedom to touch absolutely anything they wanted. It took them some getting used to me saying "Yes" to their constant question of "Mommy, can I?". The little science experiments they did for the kids were entertaining as well. The only reason for one less star is the time slots you are given. I completely understand limiting the time in the actual museum, but they actually lock you out. When I first arrived I almost left because I thought they were closed. Once we finished our time in the museum we wanted to shop in the gift store but were promptly kicked out. It makes no sense. I feel they would profit from leaving the front doors open to the gift store while you wait for your time to start, and also for the people just finishing their museum time. read more

Incredibly fun and unique! $5 admission for 3 hours of play time including secret passages, glow in the dark maze, musical instruments and several rooms that are project focused. Everything in the museum can be touched and there are dozens of interaction points. My 2 year old loved playing here and when he's older I know he will love the scavenger hunt! read more

I'm not quite sure why it took us so long to venture into Pennypickles Workshop, but once we did we were there twice in a week. My children found Pennypickles to be very interesting because you can touch everything and learn fun stuff. I enjoy this museum because it's clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, and it actually piques my interest and teaches me stuff. They also put on more in-depth events on Friday night and my kids thought participating in experiments was the coolest thing ever. All of this awesome for $5 per person. Can't beat it! read more

This is a very creative, well-themed and unique place for kids to visit. We were pleasantly surprised! If you are in the Temecula area with kids, this will be a memorable stop for them. As parents, we found ourselves interested in the exhibits too. It was fun for us all! The website says it is closed on Mondays, but we passed by on a holiday and it was open! So perhaps call ahead to check. Also, they only let a certain number of people in at a time, which does make for a more pleasant experience, so make sure you know what time to show up so that you don't have to wait too long. We ended up waiting in line for about 30 minutes to purchase tickets and go inside for the next session, but felt it was worth it on our lazy day in downtown Temecula. read more

I took my daughter for her 9th birthday and my other daughter loved it so much we are going for her 7th birthday. I did not purchase a birthday party package or anything so I can't review on that, but we went and purchased tickets for the morning session. Staff was really friendly and my daughter got free chocolate coins for it being her birthday. The museum has lots of "gadgets" everywhere and teaches all about science. This place was very small and loud. The rooms and hallways were just too small to accommodate both attractions and foot traffic. Nothing too intellectually challenging enough for older kids. Would only stick to bringing those under 10 years old. All the staff were very friendly. The small parking lot behind the building was very small and filled with cars parked there from other businesses. Overall, it is $5 worth of entertainment. Should definitely arrive very early if you want to park in the back lot. Would only bring small children. And like any other kids' attractions, they have made it all about the gift shop. read more

My children (1,3 & 5 yr old) and myself had a terrific time here. Reminded me of a children's version of the museum of Jurassic technology. Adorable, kitschy, interactive and really affordable. The science experiment show was fantastic. The gift shop is wonderful. I highly recommend this place. As stated in tips and other reviews, there is 2 hour sessions but this is actually the perfect amount of time and you don't have to convince your children to leave on your own lol.
