Aside from other good reviews and pergola jobs on Next-door, I picked him because his proposal included detailed plan and profile drafting markups of how he envisioned the pergola. He gave me three options considering different wood choices (cedar, douglas fir, etc.). He showed up when he said he would and worked continuously through the project. He continually communicated with me on schedule and project decisions. To call his attention to detail impeccable hardly seems to do it justice. Every surface was beautifully sanded and stained. He used black steel hardware everywhere he could. Where a few of the bolts couldn't be purchased in black, he painted them black so that everything would match. I didn't even know they made black silicone, which he used to seal any seems where wood butted against other wood. He custom crafted the corner supports. Instead of bolting beams onto the driveway, he cut the concrete, dug a deep hole, and poured concrete around a massive steel footing for each post. He custom built the gate around the style of fence I'd asked for so that it blends in perfectly. He carefully preserved the grapes and wisteria that were growing on the old fence so that when he was finished I was able to move it all onto the new structure. While building, Dave covered the wood with a tarp even when there was no chance of rain, which saved me a lot of money when my sprinklers threw a fit and doused the driveway he was working on in the middle of the night. His labor cost was extremely reasonable, and he's a fantastic person.

I hired him to do work on several of my projects and assisted him in designing several projects of his own. I liked his attitude so much I was very hopefull and wanted to help him get up and running here in Idaho. I even loaned him money when he needed a new family vehicle. Come to find out that all of the photos he showed me were built by other pool contractors that he simply worked for. I learned a valuable lesson as everything he touched was done wrong. Horribly wrong. I have since spoken with other people that hired Jake to work on their pools and it was one horror story after another. I cannot speak to his skills pouring flatwork or kitchen tile but Jake has no business building swimming pools and the last thing we need here in Idaho is another underqualified swimming pool contractor.

I shopped around and found some quotes but his by far was the best. Even after requesting some add ons he was happy to do them for me. His concrete work looks really good. Everyone is complementing my back yard. The stamped concrete looks amazing and not to mention all the additional drains he installed to make sure we have a great flow and no flooding. Zach has done all kinds of projects around our home now. He helped install fence poles along the…read moreside of our property and set up the fence, mowed our yard and spread fertilizer and grass seed, trimmed bushes and removed weeds, helped paint a few rooms, and installed some drywall. He also helped build raised beds and a chicken coop, and moved a bunch of things from the garage to the storage shed. So far his work has been high quality, and he always gets it done faster than expected. Our yard looks better than it has in years. They washed the sand off the street in front of the project property down the street so that it ran in front of my other neighbors house, and mine. I couldn't reach the company to make a complaint and had to shovel and sweep the sand and dirt in front of my house myself to remove it. I wouldn't use these guys based on how they worked on my neighbors project, and the mess they left in the neighborhood.
