Such a learning experience here, with dvds and books to gain know. I love coming here with my child…read moreand we spend time playing and read books. It's child friendly with a lot to explore. It's a nice hangout place too and the maker space is one of my favorite programs they have. This library takes care of the community!! They also have a shelf where you can check out items and apps to watch movies or read audio books.

I don't have Netflix and amazon film services ... I don't have television cables either. I really don't need it. I don't have time for it. This is how I give the finger to evil multinational corporations. I take advantage of the library catalog and use its hold service to my heart's content. I really hope the public libraries like this will continue to thrive. Those DVDs educated me far more than anything I learned in grad schools. Seriously. I've been trying to checkout a state park pass from Library of Things ... it has not been successful. They told me that they only have 4 passes and 10 in the entire library system. I will keep trying! Maybe I will get lucky one day! Hey, I heard a public library in San Francisco has sewing machines! I would love a sewing and knitting/crocheting workshops here ...helping me give more fingers to the corporations by sewing my own underwears ... why not? Maybe you can cooperate with Sew Green to make it happen ... My only "complaint" is that I wish the purchase request process was more transparent .. i.e. if I could get a feedback from the librarian as to the possibility for the purchase of a particular item I want to borrow, and receiving a notification when the item is purchased ... that would be delightful ... but then I know that we can set the catalog search parameter to alert us to the items when it is cataloged in the library system, so no complaints ... Please keep up the wonderful work! The library is one of the best ways our tax money is put to use!

Should I buy a book? I often check it out at the library first and decide if I want it in my own collection. Fun to see people playing chess with the giant chess pieces; often very interesting displays from artists and other groups in the community. So lucky that there is a bookmobile. A very pleasant place to be if you just want to browse for books, read, and explore the possibilities (maybe the green screen or 3-D printer?) And the Steele has a green roof!

I have a large soft spot in my heart for libraries... but not this one. I've been in several times…read moreto print off resumes and every time it's the same thing: no one smiles, offers to help, and no greeting. I had a couple questions during my time there and each time I would walk up to the counter and the librarian (or aid) would ignore me and stare blankly into the computer screen... come on? You 'can't' see me? I finally got a letter stating my new permanent address in the area and went to get a library card... what-a-joke. The two employees at the check-out counter made me feel like I was putting a burden on them. At one point, I almost told the male employee to forget it and walk out. I woke up this same morning excited to go get a library card in my new town, as I am a lover of books. But this facility made all that excitement go down the drain - fast.

You get the charm of the original building paired with the modern beauty of the Bausch & Lomb structure both are worth seeing. The library offers a ton of programs for kids, teens, and adults. Definitely check their website, because there's so much going on. Becoming a cardholder is easy, and once you are, make sure you look into their VIP section, you can snag free or discounted tickets to local attractions. You can check out physical books, audiobooks, and ebooks, and they're great if you need computer access or printing. They also have plenty of study areas and quiet spots to get work done. Honestly, they offer more than most people realize (myself included until recently!). The only downside is parking and it can be a bit tricky. I'm not sure if they validate or offer any vouchers, so it's worth asking. I was lucky enough to find street parking... but yes, you do have to pay. A great library with so much to offer. Highly recommend exploring everything they provide.

The children's section was large with lots of books and plenty of activities. A coloring station, a small play greenhouse to read in, and a "secret room" hidden behind a bookshelf, providing another quiet area to play or read. Children's section had its own bathrooms, with child-sized fixtures, which was convenient.
