Incompetent technicians, unprofessional staff, and ignorant owner! Don't wast your time, you WILL regret it!! I brought my 2016 Ford F250 to have 4 tires mounted and balanced. At first glance the facility looks like something out of Sanford and Sons. There is trash and old parts lying around, the office is dirty and in shambles the owners daughter who I guess is also the Secretary/Manager felt that it was acceptable to be stuffing her face while dealing with customers (completely unprofessional if you ask me). But they were the closest shop to me and open on a Saturday and I figured it would be pretty hard to mess up just mounting and balancing tires especially if that's your business so I took a chance with them. On the plus side I was in and out of there inside of an hour and paid a reasonable price at $30 per tire for a total of $127.20. I live relatively close to the shop so I didn't notice anything on my way home it was only after returning to work the following Monday (highway driving) that I noticed a extreme vibration at speeds of around 60 mph. Call them Monday and spoke to them about it and they said I could return with the truck and they would have a look at it. I brought my truck in first thing Tuesday morning and waited approximately an hour before they were able to inspect their work again. Again the secretary was stuffing her face at her desk while dealing with customers and also chose to trash talk some of the other customers as they left. Just incredible unprofessionalism. After some time I was told that my truck was ready and that there was nothing wrong with the balance that they had previously performed but they moved the tires around so that I would "not feel it as much" I return to my office in Baltimore extremely aggravated because it seemed that the vibration had gotten even worse I suspected maybe there was something wrong with the tires I had just purchased giving Penn tire the benefit of the doubt. I spoke to my head mechanic in Pittsburgh and asked him what I should do advised me that I should take it to another shop and have it re-balanced. So I drove to a local shop in Baltimore that had good reviews. I told them what I was experiencing and they saw me immediately I pulled into the shop they put me up on jacks and remove the tires in front of me. The first thing out of the technicians mouth was whoever did this does not know what they are doing and he explained to me how they put the weights on wrong and in the wrong positions opposing each other which makes absolutely no sense to do this. The tires never left my sight they brought them over to the balancing machine one by one and showed me each one was drastically off by several ounces, not only that but the weights were improperly installed. several of the technicians commented that whoever did this had no idea what they were doing. After watching a real shop professionally RE-balance every one of my tires I took it for a test drive it drove fantastic no vibration whatsoever. so I called Penn tired directly from the other tire shop and all I got was excuses about how they couldn't of been wrong and my tires are bad and they know what they're doing and she has to ask her daddy if I can have my money back because even though she's a manager she has no real authority there! What a bunch of clowns! So after several hours I received a phone call from a rude man who claim to be the owner and when I explained to him the situation and how his technicians did a faulty balance he didn't seem to understand the process at all. I asked him to at least refund the $40 it cost me to have it done right and he refused. I guess that $40 is more important to him then good customer service. do not! I repeat DO NOT give your business to this man, he does not care about you or your vehicle or the fact that he puts you at risk by doing faulty work. read more

The good they are fast. The bad they charge to much $30.00 per tire for a small compact car. I have found cheaper only checking for 5-minutes $20.00 per tire. Also they just fill the tires up and don,t check air pressure. And last but nut least the overtighten your lug bolts. I actually twisted my lug wrench trying to get lugs off. I will go elsewhere for my next tire mount and balance. I just found some of the receipts it clearly loooks like they just wing it on the price and charge you what ever suits them that day. When I've been here on behalf of my parent's business it's always been fine. They're unprofessional but did quick work. Never a problem.. However, when I tried to come here for new tires for myself (company didn't call ahead) they were rude on the phone and said I couldn't get new tires they only had used. Honest, quick, and affordable. I was told the nail in my tire was "too close to the side to remove and fix" by Cj's Tires. I was then asked to purchase a new tire. I said no thank you. After that I went to Penn Tire Exchange and explained my problem. They removed the nail and plugged my tire in 10 minutes. I appreciate their honesty and I highly recommend Penn Tire Exchange to anyone looking for an honest tire shop. read more

Penn tire is the worst of worst tire places. Between overtightening lug nuts, damaging wheels, having wheels fall off vehicles, selling dry rotted tires and the Lisa lady being very ignorant...This place is one you wanna stay away from! There are other shop choices around for used or new tires. I will never go to Penn Tire Again!!! read more

My wife got tires instlled there. She noticed one of them went flat yesterday so I figured what the heck go ahead and put the spare on. Tried to do that....no go.. The lug nuts were on so tight I freed up 3 of them but stripped 2 of them. Thanks Penn.....happy 4th read more

I have been here many times, at least a half dozen. Never had trouble with the work done. The woman there is very nice once you get to know her a bit. I nearly cried the first time they fixed a flat, how little they charged. I'd just been to Pep Boys for something similar. Glad they're around!!! read more
