This park has: - a gravel parking lot with portable toilet - paved trails - fenced-in playground - a small lake with fountain (I've seen people fish here) - large gazebo with outdoor grill available for reservations - doggy bags for your furkid - wooded trail area in back of the park All-in-all, an awesome place for families. There are still a number of slides for them too. I would definitely looking to return to this playground again, especially when I need to hit Costco that is only 13mins away. The kids really enjoy running around and playing on the different playground structures, including the spinning jungle gym thing and the huge swing! In addition to that great playground, they also have a nice long trail to walk around the whole park, lots of open space to use otherwise (I've seen people playing volleyball before), other sports courts such as basketball right near the playground, and one of my favorites, the fitness court! That's a great place to do some exercises that I've sometimes seen folks do on a playground, but this one is customized for exercise. Weather's still not fully there yet, but I may get back out there soon to use that equipment again!

We used to pass this park all the time but never turned in to check it out. This year, we finally…read moreturned in to look around and found that it has lots of picnic areas and an interesting birdwatching overlook. At that birdwatching station, they have an area full of birdbaths and other things to attract birds, so there were quite a variety of birds there. There's disc golf and a few areas for hiking as well, so it could be a nice place to continue exploring, especially since it's so close to home!

It was a pretty park with a nice lookout tower for birdwatching (birdfeeders are positioned to coax birds to stay for a bit) and plenty of hawks circling; however, it did seem more geared for picnicking/grilling and/or camping. There were no marked trails and we just kind of looped around until we hit a road and then looped back again. The park has plenty of parking and the restrooms were open and clean, even during the pandemic.

They have a butterfly garden in one section, and some trails that go through the forest and through some old farmland. It's a fun place to walk around, and there's also a big field where you can play some sports. There's also a playground and a pavilion that's available for rent. Mallards, hawks, and swans O my!…read more I visited the Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve this weekend which is connected to the Green Ribbon Trail (0.06 miles away) and it is a wonderful spot to observe birds and ducks by a freestanding island. There is even a pier where you can set up a scope or use binoculars and get magnificent visuals on these majestic creatures. Interesting tidbit which I observed this weekend, predator birds like hawks are actually chased away by non-predator birds, like the red winged black bird, as non-predator birds do like predator birds hunting on their land! I witnessed this myself and was instructed by our birding tour guide this happens with birds unlike land animals. The tour guide further explained not all predator birds eat other birds hence this behavior exists in nature. There is free street parking right next to the Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve and the lovely town of Ambler can be explored after you are done with your biridng. As always people SYOY!!!

I decided to participate in a 3 mile moonlit hike which was hosted by our lovely park ranger Rachel. Lake Nockamixon is a large park with multiple hiking trails. Our partucular trail was paved with color poles to let us know we were on the right path. Throughout our walk we were able to gaze in the sky and see the stars and other constellations. There's also benches and two spacious parking lots. Lake Nockamixon also is a great relaxing place to go fishing and moon gazing! I look forward to returning!

We try to go in the spring and fall to avoid the crowds. It's empty during the winter but so peaceful and beautiful. Don't miss the marina area, especially in April when the Purple Martins come to nest. Fascinating. Nature is so important. We must take care of our earth.

Little community park …read more A winding walking trail lead along the water. There is a bridge you can cross over to the train station. Or go strain up to the street. It was a cute stroll in nature . ((There was also a playground. )) Parking is on the street... Be careful not to park too close to the fire hydrant. I just wanted a stroll after having a bite to eat nearby.
