Honest, reliable and efficient! Took my car in for State Inspection last week and it failed. They gave me an estimate and I agreed, called me later and told me it was something they could not fix and told me what probably needed to be done. Told me to bring it back when completed and they would inspect the work done. Both times I've gone in, he's explained things to me, instead of just presuming stuff will be over my head. He's never tried to push any unnecessary extra services on me. Do your wheel bearings keep going bad after going to Peninsula Total Car Care? Maybe they need to use a torque bar, instead of an impact wrench. Three times my rear wheel bearings have gone bad. The underpinnings of my car came loose, and I looked up mechanics on Yelp, and they were rated as tops, and I can see why. I was 2 1/2 hours from home, but they treated me like a long-time, valued customer, removing the underpinnings and charging me only $10. They were very nice, quick and knowledgeable. My wife's car had the check engine light on. I took it to Peninsula Total Car Care to see what the issue is. Long story short, the repair was going to be over $2,000. They told me that it would be beneficial to take my wife's Hyundai to the dealership and see if it could be covered under the car's 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. It was covered under warrant and they saved me a ton of money. Any auto repair shop that is willing to send your business elsewhere with their customer's best interest in mind shows how great they are. The owners and staff are great people also. After they do the diagnostics, Rondell calls and tells you clearly what's going on with your car and presents the options and costs for dealing with the problem. Best of all, they don't try to push silly extras on you. You ladies know what I mean: "It looks like your windshield wiper blades need changing, ma'am. And we have the pink ones in stock for only $69.95 plus labor!" I can change my own wiper blades, thank you. Just replace the brake pads, please. I was in Salisbury, on a road trip to Rhode Island from Virginia, when a loose CV joint that I'd been putting off repairing finally broke. I called one of my friends for advice, and he suggested taking the car to a shop and replacing the axle, a job which should cost about $200 for parts and labor. Unfortunately, it was already 3 pm, and most garages closed at 5; I was having a hard time finding a shop that could fix my car that day. I found Peninsula on Yelp; I called and explained my situation, and they said they could probably help me. AAA towed my car there, and they got my car into the garage right away. The job cost $210--just about what both my friend and the mechanic estimated--and I was back on the road in less than two hours. Because I only stopped for an emergency repair, I probably won't find myself at this shop again...but they really came through when I needed help, and I recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

I came to Peninsula Total Car Care after discovering strange noises under the hood of my car. It ended up being the belt tensioner which was replaced the same day. While there, the mechanics discovered some leaks and suggested adding dye in the engine to more clearly determine the source of the leak. They brought me into the shop and showed me the problems and explained very clearly what they would do to fix my car. Great mechanics and customer service!!! read more

The people at Peninsula Car Care saved me 600 dollars on a repair over the dealer cost because they were willing to spend some time taking apart a throttle body and throttle position sensor that were riveted together and replace just the tps with a bolt on replacement on my Honda. They were excellent at informing me of the process and the progress of the repair and were very easy to work with. I have been looking for a good repair shop since I moved to the Eastern Shore. Superior troubleshooting. Rapid turnaround. Conscientious repair. True concern for the customer. I was temporarily stationed in nearby Wallops Island, VA for a few weeks of Navy training and experienced an intermittent and mysterious symptom with my VW Jetta. I drove the car over an hour to get to Peninsula Total Car Care and I am glad I did. Manager Rondell Dennis is such a brilliant troubleshooter that he narrowed the likely root cause down to one of two problems just based on my description, and waited to get the car on his analyzer machine before he was sure. The fault was intermittent, so he called me the next day to report that they had been unable to reproduce the symptom, and didn't want me to spend money replacing both of the likely parts, so he asked for another day to troubleshoot to be sure. 24 hours later, and a few more test drives later, they reproduced the symptom, replaced the correct part, and had me on my way in 48 hours. Also included an unexpected military discount which really made my day. This is one of those few remaining repair shops who still have the skills to do legitimate troubleshooting, and aren't in the business of replacing all of the possible root cause parts just to be sure they didn't miss something. Great job to these guys, or as we say in the Navy: "Bravo Zulu!". read more

My sisters car had several issues after running over a board in the road. She took it to the Chevy dealer and they said it needed over $2500 in repairs, I had my sister take the car to Peninsula Car Repair and they fixed the car for just over $400. They also give my sister a ride to and from her house while the car was fixed. Since my sister could not afford the repair, Peninsula worked with me to allow me to pay for the repair on my credit card to get my sister back on the road.
