Getting a lament floor for 1000 sq, home it's been 5 days and they haven't completed a single room. They don't have to work around furniture the house was empty. Why is it taking so long? I'm lucky I'm not having to live in this house yet.

Strait Floors 1. Communication skills are largely lacking, a…read moreproblem that can be traced to the owners. Don't conclude, as we did, that the issue is actually settled just because someone in the store assured you it was. The people you talk to in the stores are not the ones pulling the strings. The owners are the ones in charge, and they don't want to talk to you. You'll likely never see them or hear from them. 2. Inconsistent workmanship. They sell quality products but don't always do an excellent installation job. Some of their installers know what they're doing, but some are novices. The person who installed our bathroom floor did a perfect job the first time. The kitchen floor and blinds, however, had to be redone. Try to get someone with experience to do the installation. We found that it's best to be there during the installation process. If underlayment was ordered, you'll have no way to know if it was installed, unless you were observing the process. 3. Treatment of customers: Don't be fooled by the affability of the people you encounter in the stores. As a return customer, you are just a pawn in their money-making schemes. If you have a grievance, they won't want to hear about it. If you owe money, don't expect to get an invoice in the mail. They don't spend money on billing customers. If you are unaware of an unpaid balance, they'll inform you by sending it to a collection agency. Bottom line: The owners of Strait Floors want your business, but they could care less if they destroy your credit rating. 4. Consumer rights: Just be aware that they have the right to send you to collection without warning. As a consumer, you have few rights.

McCrorie Carpet One - Luxury vinyl cut to fit every nook and protrusion in my hallway

They are very knowledgeable about the flooring they sell and will explain the differences and answer any questions you have. Bob Gridley is a wealth of information! The carpet installers, who's names were Derrick and Mike, are very professional, respectful, polite, friendly and did a wonderful job at installing our carpet. My next goal is to get new flooring for my kitchen and dining room. Thanks guys, you're the best! Teresa McGee

I got the product as a remnant, so I got a really good deal on it, but it was such a great product, that I think I would have picked it even if it were full price. James was very friendly and competent, and even though I had taken the carpet and padding out of the hallway myself since I didn't want to pay the fee, he took it all out to my garbage for me and got it all to fit in my garbage can at once. I couldn't believe it was possible, but James was a total pro in every aspect of his time here. He got here this morning despite all of the snow on the ground, and just seems like a great all-around person. Also, thanks to Stew for facilitating the sales side of the transaction with aplomb.

He called twice (because I missed the first call) which I appreciated since I can be forgetful. Tobias offered to come look at my carpet for free after I sent him a picture and shared that I needed a small area patched up. I let Tobias know that I had to be gone by 1:30p and he arrived 40min after our conversation by about 12:35p. He was friendly and upon assessing my carpet ripped the entire corner backwards way past the problem area to see what he was working with. Afterwards he quoted me $250 for repair but we agreed on $150. Unfortunately he only accepts Zelle or cash so we had to walk to an ATM to get cash but I requested a receipt which he quickly provided. I wouldn't say the work was worth more than $75-100 but with Tobias traveling and being quick $150 seemed fair. However, the edge of my carpet still isn't perfect as it was before I damaged it and doesn't extend to the end of the flooring as I prefer. I didn't notice this until I returned to my apartment after helping take his equipment back downstairs. I would've appreciated not having to clean up the carpet pieces from Tobias ripping mine up to replace it, or having to still tape down a small part of my carpet so that the minimal damage isn't showing. For today, and me needing to avoid move out fees, it'll have to do. 1/8/25 - I called Tobias about my carpet and he arrived within an hour. Tobias re-stretched my carpet and initially attempted to nail it into the concrete but mentioned that it might be porous. Next we went back downstairs to grab tools to glue the carpet down. It looks much much better! Thank you! 1/9/25 - Unfortunately I'll have to take matters into my own hands because within a day my carpet began to strip again. I've had to put tape on the edges because the pointy nails that are supposed to hold the carpet are showing.
