Strait Floors 1. Communication skills are largely lacking, a…read moreproblem that can be traced to the owners. Don't conclude, as we did, that the issue is actually settled just because someone in the store assured you it was. The people you talk to in the stores are not the ones pulling the strings. The owners are the ones in charge, and they don't want to talk to you. You'll likely never see them or hear from them. 2. Inconsistent workmanship. They sell quality products but don't always do an excellent installation job. Some of their installers know what they're doing, but some are novices. The person who installed our bathroom floor did a perfect job the first time. The kitchen floor and blinds, however, had to be redone. Try to get someone with experience to do the installation. We found that it's best to be there during the installation process. If underlayment was ordered, you'll have no way to know if it was installed, unless you were observing the process. 3. Treatment of customers: Don't be fooled by the affability of the people you encounter in the stores. As a return customer, you are just a pawn in their money-making schemes. If you have a grievance, they won't want to hear about it. If you owe money, don't expect to get an invoice in the mail. They don't spend money on billing customers. If you are unaware of an unpaid balance, they'll inform you by sending it to a collection agency. Bottom line: The owners of Strait Floors want your business, but they could care less if they destroy your credit rating. 4. Consumer rights: Just be aware that they have the right to send you to collection without warning. As a consumer, you have few rights.

After meeting with several local companies we went with Chad and Keli at Strait because of their initial approach to customer service. They also offered a more turnkey experience instead of subbing out the various elements of the remodel. Everything from Keli's design suggestions and account management were great. When working with contractors communication is key. Clear communication is important for all parties involved and this is one of Strait's strengths. They proactively kept us in the loop on all timelines and flagged potential delays and offered solutions. This is a company you want to work with! Now on to the actual work. The hardwood floors in our new home are STUNNING. We love all of the materials Keli suggested and they look beautiful in our home. Every detail in the home was well thought out and the bathrooms that Strait created are also gorgeous. Straits work from the floors to the bathrooms and blinds was excellent.
