The owner has the entire collection memorized so you can tell him practically any genre (music, sports, art exhibitions, travel posters, fashion, military etc..) and he will find you something you would love or wasn't even expecting. We ended up getting two because we couldn't decide. They are definitely pricey but he can help you find something in your price range. Since we were coming from out of town he had the posters mailed and they arrived in perfect condition. We got the framed immediately and have been enjoying them every day.

I had no idea there were individuals so educated in vintage posters or that there was even so much to know. Based on the level of passion and excitement, I'll assume it was the owner I saw in the store. I have to admit that I spent half of my time eavesdropping on his interaction with some customers where he was bending over backwards to find the most perfect poster for their wishes. He seemed delightful and completely in his element. I saw everything from european travel posters to war time patriotism and even old french bicycle ads. Next time I'll allot more time to browse. I felt like I could have gotten a gift for just about anyone I know somewhere in the stacks of pristine canvas mounted posters. Stop in! You won't be disappointed.

Every March, architects, engineers, designers and contractors compete to design and build fantastic giant-sized structures made entirely out of canned foods. Teams of five people gather at five different locations around Cincinnati to build 10'x10'x10' sculptures in five hours. Following the construction, the exhibits stay up for three weeks for public viewing. Cincinnati consistently places at the top of America's best designs. In April, the sculptures are dismantled and donated to Freestore Foodbank. In 2012, CANstruction raised 55,000 lbs of food which equals over 40,000 meals for families in need. Since it's conception 15 years ago, over 500,000 lbs have been donated. Themed sculptures have included: - Pacman - Stormtrooper - Mr. Potato Head losing body parts - Kool-aid Man busting through a wall - A giant baseball glove - A giant bra - Rubix cube - a full-sized kitchen - Arc de Triumph - an Angry Birds scene ... and many more! It was a bit out there, but in substance was less tone-deaf than some of the other exhibits I've been to. Exhibits will vary, but I think this is likely to be a stop that is more than worth the short amount of time you're likely to spend on it.

There is something for all tastes, be it contemporary, to traditional. We have visited usually on the weekends and enjoy interacting with the owner who comes from a mostly photography background, and really love his dog that usually sits on a pillow but is always happy to say hi and let you pet him. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and not stuffy like some galleries. So, whether you are looking to spruce up your walls or buy a nice gift for someone special, consider checking out Gallery OTR. If you are worried about parking, the garage on 12th and Vine around the corner is not only covered but one of the lowest cost in the city. We often find street parking nearby too.

Fabulous Frames also has locations in Montgomery and Northgate, but its new downtown location is nice and very new looking. The framing and artwork store is actually family owned and operated, and has been since it was founded back in 1981. I really liked what I saw from an artwork standpoint, and although it wasn't as fancy or as unique as the stuff you would see at the 5th Street Gallery (in the Hilton Netherland Plaza), Fab Frames has a lot of neat prints and a ton of work from local artists such as Charley Harper. Being a big sports fan I was pretty into all the framed photos of sports stadiums and action shots (Bearcats, Reds, Bengals, Buckeyes, Fighting Irish), but they also have a great selection of framed Cincinnati cityscapes and panoramas. In addition to their typical "museum quality framing" (custom or pre-framed), Fabulous Frames also does residential and corporate art consulting and artwork installation, and they do worldwide shipping. Not to be overshadowed by their many great services, the staff is also very friendly. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the Vine and Race Street areas, and you shouldn't be disappointed.

I was outbid and it sold for over $1000. But I ended up getting the one at Caza for less than 300 bucks! I am not sure how often the gallery is open to the public but assume that there is an arts calendar with this info somewhere on the net. There is no public bathroom so hit the public library across the street if you're bladder is full. The gallery is two floors but is not that big. Parking is street only. DO NOT park in the adjacent lot.
