It has very strange hours; Monday 1PM-9PM, Tuesday 1PM-9PM, Wednesday 5PM-9PM and Thursday 9AM-5PM. It's closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The library section is EXTREMELY small, I was honestly shocked at how small and what little books they had. The building is very large yet the book section is a short hallway of sorts with 5-6 rows of bookcases on each side as you walk to the end of the room. The bookcases are about 5 feet in length with about 5 shelf's of books. In comparison to the other libraries it is tiny. There also isn't any computer access, inclusive of a computer catalog to see what books are available there and at the other town libraries. I was pretty disappointed and will be going to check out the other town libraries. It is a beautiful building though and will post some photos later when I have more time.

A little library…read more The Manomet Branch Library is just a little library but then most branch libraries are. The purpose of the branch libraries are to serve the immediately area and are great for people that don't drive or have problems getting around. They also are very useful for people that just happen to be going through and want some information or perhaps some local history. Manomet isn't a place where you will find a whole heap of books but you will get plenty of information. Of course like virtually all libraries it has computers and wifi and some amazing friendly and informative librarians. The library manages to fit in a nice kids area and even has a little community room downstairs. A very pleasant place to stop when you have something you need to know.

The children's room is small but plentiful - toy area, books, scavenger hunt, take home crafts, friendly librarians. In front of the children's room there are "take what you need" supplies for parents/kids - completely free. I'm looking forward to joining some of the adult programs like guided tours of Marshfield because I am new to town, but for now my experience has been visiting the children's room with my 2 children.

Whales quilts and…read moreparks The very first idea for a library in Norton was in 1886 when a few book were dumped in the town hall. A few years later a "real" library and building were constructed and roughly 2,000 books were proudly stacked on the shelves. The served nicely for a while but the library's collection of books and more modern devices, unimagined when the library was constructed, started to appear. It became obvious a new and much larger library was needed. So in 1991 the brand new and much larger library was opened. It holds over 60,000 volumes as well as numerous works of art, displays and exhibits and a cool community room. It even has the traditional New England quilt that some new libraries have seemed to gotten away from, as well as a great display of a whale mom with her calf. Cool stuff. In 1999 the town decided to build a little park and patio on the grounds of the library. Not a place for serious hiking but a nice place to take a short stroll or find some shade and read a book. A very pleasant library and a great place to spend some time and if you're not careful, maybe even learn something.

The facilities are clean and organized…read more There is a large workstation to bring your laptop or books for studying or work, and they have desktop computers as well. What struck me most is how friendly the staff is. They know most patrons by name and are always willing to help answer questions or find a solution. The WiFi is free but a bit unreliable. It would not let me log on to many major sites, but several minutes later after the staff reset the internet, it allowed those sites. Even before the reset, some sites worked (email, social media) but many others did not. Parking lot has ample space and there's even a few antiques decorating the library...it's like a tiny museum!
