I cannot recommend this program strongly enough! Shannon helps you be what you want to be. I am the…read moresame person I was before her program - yet simultaneously completely different. I had been on an exhaustive 10-year career search, looking for a position that fit others' expectations of where I should be next . . . Not realizing that the career I was already making for myself, was most closely aligned with my values, beliefs, and desire to live a balanced, yet well-paid life that puts my happiness, and presence for my children first. (As Shannon put it, I am like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz - in that I didn't need to "look any further than my own back yard.") I wanted clarity over the future direction of my career, and to get to where I want to be. This goal was met due to the expert advice of Shannon. My product and brand has been strengthened, and I am much more mindful and intentional about the career decisions I make. Shannon listens, then reminds you what you said is important to YOU, rather than fit you into a cookie-cutter program. I wholeheartedly recommend the Whole U. process.

I'd hire a professional to fix my car, or operate on my heart... so I'd certainly hire a pro to guide my way to my new career. Working with Shannon helped me set up a road map to reach my goal. I learned how to: write a 21st-century resume, re-do my LinkedIn page, and I learned (again) that there's no time like the present to start the first step toward my goal. I learned that my goal isn't ridiculous and could actually provide a huge benefit to people. I really appreciate the holistic approach to Whole U. advising services. Everything in this world is interconnected, whether one believes that in a spiritual or scientific way, and one's career is not excluded from that.

Lucy is an empathetic listener who will ask hard questions (in a very kind way). She kept me "on topic" and accountable as I met my personal and career goals. She shared knowledge and resources relating to salary negotiation, resume building, LinkedIn and answering interview questions. Lucy helped me navigate a difficult conversation at work and I am truly grateful for her support in advocating and speaking up for myself. As we continued to work together, I further clarified my personal values, skills and strengths which gave me a clearer sense of purpose. I am no longer stuck in my head and am making active steps forward. If you are thinking of working with Lucy you should do it!! I am amazed at how much has changed for me over five months and how I feel so much happier, more confident and optimistic.

I came to her feeling confused and a bit fearful, and just a few months later am feeling ambitious and excited about my future. I was just accepted into an amazing graduate program in nursing, a path that I had only vaguely considered prior to working with Lucy. I am confident that I would not be in this spot today, with a big door wide open in front of me, if I had not worked with Lucy. She is patient, intelligent, non-judgmental and most importantly - warm and kind. I can't recommend working with Lucy enough.

Applied online and got a call back from Jen who was very friendly, told me to come take a visit for an interview. The building was very nice, prime location in Financial District. Front desk person asked me to fill out an application and led me to Jen after. Jen was telling me that she has been working at John Leonard for almost 30 years holy moly! She was very professional, knew what she was doing, and sounded like she has a great relationship with their clients (employers). Asked me couple questions about my skills and experience, what I want to do in a long run. After the interview, she explained some of the jobs they have in the system and asked me if any of those spark my interest. Really liked this short term assignment in Cambridge, was places there a week after that interview! Went through many assignments with various employers through John Leonard so far, was a great experience to work with all those employers. I had tried many things, but ultimately meeting and working with Sandy was one of the major turning points in my search. While working with Sandy she was a valuable resource; an objective voice, a sounding board, and most importantly, a guide in my search. While Sandy won't find you a new job or pick your next career, she will put together a process (and make you stick to it) and give you the tools to get you to where you want and need to be. After I did move forward and into a new position, I worked with Sandy, to make sure my uptake and priorities in my new role set me up for success. I can honestly say, not only did Sandy help me in my search, she has helped me become more aware of myself, what works for me, what I need to improve, and what I should try to limit exposure to. I value these items almost as much if not more than the job search help, as this self awareness will not only help me today, but throughout my career! I recommend Sandy Machson to anyone looking for a Career help (whether looking for a change or looking to perform at their peak), as she she is flexible, smart, and caring! (Also don't believe me? My previous resume was acceptable, or so I thought. It was a basic format that wasn't all that eye-catching. Likewise for my cover letter. I was job searching and not getting any bites. I was a bit frantic when I called Job Search Divas, but she was quick to provide very comforting words. After consulting with Elizabeth during an initial introduction call, I knew I met the right person to help ignite my job search. I knew she'd take my resume and cover letter to the next level. She worked with me to really highlight my skills and the great work I have done in the past. She was very patient and incorporated everything I requested in my cover letter and resume. Elizabeth also gave me great advice about LinkedIn and how it would be helpful in my job search. If you are considering a resume and cover letter service, I highly recommend Job Search Divas. Coming out of that leave, ready to get back to the working world, I was looking at a resume that really hadn't been updated for... a while. My resume needed an overhaul, as did my confidence. I didn't realize that I would get both from a Yelp search. I 'interviewed' a couple of career/job search professionals. Elizabeth just seemed like a smart, insightful, professional, but very approachable, good human. In a fairly painless process, she gleaned the facts as well as the nuances of what I bring to the table professionally (as well as the dishes that I had brought to previous 'pot lucks'.) And she made them sound really good - enough so that it took a while for me to embrace that the end result wasn't full of half-true embellishments, but a more confident way to represent my real skills and temperament.. I would hire me! As I hadn't had to 'really' interview for a new job in (ahem) decades, I had so many concerns and questions. In addition to overhauling my resume and making my LinkedIn profile look like I'm an adult, Elizabeth took the time to answer all of the concerns that I shared with her, even throughout my interviewing process. She was a touchstone of my navigation of the whole 'adventure', a cheerleader, a support, a reality check. I made a really good decision in hiring her.
