This used to be a great place to go and I had a very nice pcp , she was a NP but very intelligent…read moreand listened to my concerns, very down to earth. My wife has known many of the employee's that have worked at AHC and has had the utmost respect for them , especially Dr. Politi whom she just loves and thinks he's the great. This is how I became a patient at this center , My PCP left her practice and I needed a new PCP so my wife said go to the AHC they are very good and I was fine with them until I was switched to a NP named Aimee Clinton. I thought she was nice but apparently she didn't like me for some reason, I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, etc.. but she wanted me to lose weight. I am 6'4" and weigh 215 lb
she stated I should weigh 190 , I would be a stick at that weight. I get plenty of exercise and don't plan on doing any areobic exercise program as she would like me to do , just not for me. I need a PCP mainly because I have asthma, emphysema and COPD to which I was being treated. I will make this short but not so sweet. This Aimee Clinton was giving me medications that were not working and making me worse to the point I could barely breath, my wife whom was a nurse looked into my medications and noticed I was for one thing being double dosed , Clinton had prescribed the same med under a different name brand but both the same exact medication, as my wife looked into this more she called the pharmacist whom confirmed this and my wife also decided something needed to be done as I was taking 4 Inhalers and a Diskus , one was a rescue inhaler. I came into the house one day and my wife stated I looked gray , I couldn't breath well and went for my inhaler and then I went to the office to see Aimee Clinton whom took an EKG which she stated was abnormal (of course it would be abnormal I couldn't breath) she insisted I go to the ER , which I really didn't want to go but I did (biggest mistake I ever made) I arrived at 5:30 pm was not seen until 10:30 pm and not treated until 11:30 pm , I was there until 3:30 am. The only good thing that came out of the ER visit was that I had a breathing treatment and it helped a LOT. My wife got the records of the ER visit and what the medication was they used for the treatment , she ordered a Nebulizer and called the pharmacy to see if they carried the med for use in the Nebulizer and they said yes and it was very low cost , I was paying over $600. for one of the Inhalers and the Nebulizer med cost would be $13.00 for 3 months supply if used twice a day ! What a difference. I went back to see Aimee Clinton for a Follow up and told her about the Nebulizer and asked if she could give me the RX that I needed for use with it as the treatments in the ER really helped and I thought the Nebulizer would work better than a couple of the inhalers I was on as they were not helping me at all. I wanted to go back to my old Inhaler I was on and my old rescue inhaler along with this Nebulizer. Well she did give me the prescription and made me a follow up appointment for 3 weeks. Here's where everything goes crazy, I show up for my appointment on time and the receptionist tells me they sent me a letter of discharge ! This Aimee Clinton discharged me as her patient , I did not get any letter. The girl gave me a copy of this discharge letter which stated , I regret to inform you that I feel I can no longer be your healthcare provider as I feel you have no confidence in me in your care of decisions, etc.. I will make your records available to your new provider and it had a blank space to send my records to a new Doctor. I was totally in awe , dumbfounded to say the least.
I went home and my wife was like what the hell !
Number one if they had sent a registered letter that had to be signed for receipt would have been sent back to them , they should have known I didn't receive any letter or they would have received the receipt of signature. They lied , they never sent any letter. I had the copy the girl gave me so my wife had me sign it and out my own name as whom to send the medical records to , I did and brought it to the office and dropped it off. I didn't hear anything for a week so I called and they said they could not release my records to me (myself) they could only be released to a new Dr. My wife called and told them that they had better check on NY State Law code # ? under Patients Rights to medical records and if they didn't get have the records ready for either pickup , electronically sent to her or put on a device we would be calling our Attorney. We received a call within a couple of hours that we could either have the records on a disk or printed out. I did get my records. As my wife and I looked over them we were stunned at all the errors, she mocked my wife and was very unprofessional besides being very confused, almost as she has the wrong patient. The staff is not to blame and Dr. Politi is wonderful but this Ms. Aimee Clinton NP is not a good PCP nor a good person.
