a cup of ice cream

This would've, could've and should've been 5 Stars...I'll explain why later. So honestly I never had any intention of ever visiting this place but it is less than a mile from my place and my girlfriend would never stop nagging me about it. So I caved and we went...and much to my surprise it was more than I expected. I was kind of expecting something like those hard snow cones you get as a kid in a few different flavors. I couldn't have been more wrong. When they say Snoball that is what they mean. These things are more the consistency of snow than any snow cone I've had. It is very finely shaved ice and actually is pleasant to eat. They have plenty of flavors and the 2 different ones I've had have been good. 2 things for the 5th star. 1 I would have some more recommendations for flavor combos as advice because there are over 100 flavors and then toppings you can add also. Another...the employees were nice enough but they never really asked to offer any help. I think asking if it's your first time and offering suggestions/advice would go a long way. All and all it was good and would definitely recommend as a way to end an evening or date night.

I stopped here for my teenage girls who just love shaved ice. Me, not much of a fan. They informed me that this place is the new hot spot for teens to hang out over the weekends. They have over 100 flavors of SnoCones available with about 8 bench style tables to sit on outside. Fantastic for a hot humid evening. They have their own private parking outside the shop which is always a good thing on Coleman. To me the flavor was fine, as I said not really a fan but the kids loved it. So I'm posting to let you all know it's a great spot for the young folk & a change from ice cream.

This place is hands down amazing. The service is fast, the ice is soft and melts quickly in your mouth, and the service is very fast. There are tables outside to sit at and the location is not that bad. They offer over 100 flavors which gives a great range of choice. Overall, this is one of the top three snocone places I have been to! 10/10 would recommend.

a wheel of fortune and a sign that says, don't forget your pup cup

I now know why the kids around town are talking about this place. If dogs could talk, they'd be gathering around as well, because Pelican's has pup cups, too. Another reviewer described this shaved ice perfectly as the difference between North Carolina snow vs Colorado snow. Pelican's SnoBalls are like Aspen in a cup. Delicate, melt in your mouth powdery ice. There are a zillion flavors for humans, three flavors for the pups. My pup had the peanut butter and she adored it so much that she crawled into the front seat and polished off my root beer float. Now mind you, this is the same concept it's always been only better. It's sugar water with flavor. It's tasty. Some seating inside. Picnic tables outside. Enter parking lot directly from Bowman Rd.

After riding by everyday wondering how this place was I finally read some reviews. The west Ashley store had great reviews but Mt. Pleasant store did not only though there were just a couple of them. So after a beautiful walk on the Shen Creek pier we stopped in to give it a try. There were a lot of people there. The line fairly long but it moved very fast. The employees were quick and very nice and the sno-come was delicious. What a great treat! We got creamsicle flavor and tie peanut butter pup cups for the fur children. The loved it. Can't wait to go back and try more flavors !!

Outdoor eating area! Best when it isn't sweltering outside!

Great price and FABULOUS treat. Lots of flavor options. Portions are large and a great deal for the price.

Great Rita's! Great staff and product with very clean atmosphere. We will be back very soon!read more

Experience was so bad we never actually made it in the door…read more I will add the story, but suffice it to say I have never met a business owner so willing to offend a customer base in his local neighborhood. Considering this business should be peddling Joy, this guy can chase customers away faster than: A politician changes their mind! Trump can piss off a Democrat! Rita's Slogan: "Ice+Custard=Happiness" This Rita's owners slogan: "Me+Customers = wait, where did my customers go?" If "poor customer service" were an action movie, this guy is their Arnold Schwarzenegger. Imagine owning an Ice shop and chasing away the family dinner guests from next door so they don't buy your desert. I bet they teach that in business school!!! I don't condemn Rita's as a whole, and I am sure the young folks that work here are delightful (Probably miserable working for that dude). So if you are reading this - don't hate the business, but certainly the owner is worthy. The story: There is a new restaurant next door that we were going to for dinner, planning to get Ices for desert. Unfortunately we made the mistake of sitting down near here when there was no one there or waiting for a seat. At which point the presumable owner of this establishment rudely asked us to leave as these particular seats were only for his customer. He could have easily asked nicely, and we would have come buy after dinner and bought ices. But he was flat out rude about it. Nicely we said nothing, got up walked to the other area where bunches of people were sitting on benches waiting for their tables. When some got up and left, we sat down. BIG mistake according to this guy. He came out yelling. Not at any of the other people, just my family because "He already told us to leave." Mind you - this is an unmarked bench in a public easement between 2 businesses - photo in the review. 1/2 a dozen other people around us are staring and shaking their heads at the guy, obviously no longer planning to buy anything there and apparently this is a nightly occurrence! For us - I will not frequent this establishment if it were the last place on earth to sell Ice.

If you're looking to get a table at Vern's, booking a reservation is absolutely essential. The…read morespace is intimate and cozy and they are only open for dinner five nights a week. Add their rave reviews to the equation, and you have a textbook case of high demand meets low supply, with the commodity being their highly exclusive tables. If sitting at the bar is your vibe however, feel free to walk in and test your luck. Fortunately I was able to book a reservation a month in advance, and arrived to a crowd of patrons standing at the entrance on a Sunday night. After being seated, the rest of the night went smoothly enough with only an occasional wait here and there. Their drink menu was extensive and inclusive enough to ensure the wine/cocktail/beer enthusiasts and non-alcoholic drinkers could find something to their liking. Personally I enjoyed my meal overall, but my dining partner had mixed feelings. Starting with the crispy and raw scallop appetizer: I didn't care much for the crispy portion, and my partner felt it was "good, but not great," which I was in agreement with. For the asparagus dish, I didn't realize it would come battered, but the vinaigrette beneath was a perfect complement that elevated the entire plate, and my partner claimed it was the best dish of the night. Our main courses, the pappardelle and "rabbit pasta," was where we had our biggest disagreement. I enjoyed them thoroughly, with the pappardelle potentially erring on saltier side. On the other hand, my partner found both dishes to be flat out salty and did not enjoy them at all. We both found the sorbet meringue dessert disappointing. It just wasn't our cup of tea. Ultimately, our meal was a classic case of "you can't make everyone happy." However, we both agreed that the service was outstanding and that the staff was kind and attentive throughout the night. If we ever find ourselves back in Charleston, I would absolutely love to return and experience other offerings from their menu; maybe add a little variety and avoid ordering two pasta dishes as well. I'm certain we can order something next time to ensure the missus leaves just as satisfied as I was!

There were guests sat at the same time as us who waited even longer to have their orders placed. There was a ton of staff so we were very confused by these significant delays. While service had room for improvement, the food really was delicious. We liked the bread so much we ordered a second portion to eat with our entree. The salad was very large and great for sharing. For our entrees we got the ragu and steak, both beautiful and unique takes on classics. If we came back I'd probably order the exact same things because it was that good. Ultimately we really enjoyed the food but were surprised by the overall experience. I'm unsure if we just got an off night.
