I ordered sauce. I didn't get a number in line so I asked if the order they called was steak with sauce and they said yes. Either there was some mixup there and I took the wrong order or the sauce is completely bland. The steak was overcooked to the point of being dry and mealy. It was at least salted sufficiently, but the only flavor there was only salty, overcooked beef. No hibachi joint would ever serve steak like that. The rice was also cooked unevenly, but was probably the best part of the meal. Hibachi food with bourbon sauce is still a great idea, but you can't just ignore the fundamentals that make food good in general.

Although it was spicy as in flavorful, not necessarily spicy in terms of heat, and I love spicy hot food, I still enjoyed the flavor. My biggest complaint with the meat and my side (dirty rice) was that they were far too salty. It left that feeling on my tongue that you get when you eat too many potato chips. Fortunately, my boyfriend got the fries as his side, and they were beautifully crispy. If you order food from here, I recommend the fries over the rice. The meat in his gyro (lamb/beef combo) was not over salted, so I would also recommend that over the meatballs. Everything seemed fresh, it was just an issue of being over-salted, which can be easily corrected.

When I saw the truck of the week was Food Box, I made a point to go (especially after seeing their menu on Facebook). I hung out a bit better placing my order, as the food truck was still setting up and not ready to cook yet. I ordered a a black bean burger ($6) for myself and a schnitzel sandwich with fries ($10) for my husband. I felt like was a fair price. Only a few other people were around, so I figured it wouldn't be long for my food. 7-8 minutes after ordering, the staff came to me and said they forgot to bring the black bean burgers on the truck, so he couldn't make my order. All of the other items were burgers or pork. I'd already placed my husband's order and didn't want him to not have food, so I waited around for his and just left hungry. At least the staff refunded me my money for the black bean burger they didn't have. I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I waited 15 minutes on a menu item that they didn't have. I do hope I can give them a second chance and update this review.

Tonight I had the honey chicken, the crispy texture was perfect with the honey flavor. They were so good! I thought they would be small servings, but these were nice size pieces of boneless chicken on a soft bun (think King's Hawaiian). For $9 we had a delicious chicken slammie with fries. The fries were delicious too, thick perfectly fried, and salted, boy these went well with out beer. So glad we the Food Box was here, and we look forward to checking out more items when we find them around town.
