The usual taco suspects appear on the hand written board such as carne & pollo, as well as the non-typical tacos made from tounge, cheek and more. Traditional Mexicano, not the watered down Americana type that so many Mexican restaurants sell. Here you find classic quesadillas, large tortas so heaping with your choice of meat you may steer clear from your evening dinner. Juartes (misspelled?) Is the brand of fruit drinks you pull from the ice bin below the ordering window, all of which work well with tacos. Spicey carrot, radish slices, a roasted jalapeno acompany all orders in a pouch shaped sheet of foil. Prices are quite low, even for a Ashley Phosphate which is more known for its car accidents than for food truck tacos. Although many folks continue to be food truck biased, and its truely their loss, the rest of us that have eaten at this tacones mecca don't mind your driving by, as there's more for us.

It's not just Hispanics that frequent this place, every race and creed does. An older white guy came by and ordered 12 Tacos de Cabeza, that's hardcore! Yes, even North Charleston's finest eat there. If you see the popo eatin' there, you know it's good. Did I mention how cheap it is? I got a Torta de Al Pastore, which is a huge Mexican sandwich, with lots of spicy pork on it, as well as lettuce, avocados, and some other things. All for only $4! Definitely hit this spot up, it's clean, the folks are friendly, they have seating, hot sauces, and drinks. You won't be disappointed. Cash only.

I'm generously giving Food Box 2 stars…read more I have to give it to Food Box- they made the trek out to Bees Ferry Rd, which is pretty rare for a food truck (most seem to cancel at the last minute). When I saw the truck of the week was Food Box, I made a point to go (especially after seeing their menu on Facebook). I hung out a bit better placing my order, as the food truck was still setting up and not ready to cook yet. I ordered a a black bean burger ($6) for myself and a schnitzel sandwich with fries ($10) for my husband. I felt like was a fair price. Only a few other people were around, so I figured it wouldn't be long for my food. 7-8 minutes after ordering, the staff came to me and said they forgot to bring the black bean burgers on the truck, so he couldn't make my order. All of the other items were burgers or pork. I'd already placed my husband's order and didn't want him to not have food, so I waited around for his and just left hungry. At least the staff refunded me my money for the black bean burger they didn't have. I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I waited 15 minutes on a menu item that they didn't have. I do hope I can give them a second chance and update this review.

Tonight I had the honey chicken, the crispy texture was perfect with the honey flavor. They were so good! I thought they would be small servings, but these were nice size pieces of boneless chicken on a soft bun (think King's Hawaiian). For $9 we had a delicious chicken slammie with fries. The fries were delicious too, thick perfectly fried, and salted, boy these went well with out beer. So glad we the Food Box was here, and we look forward to checking out more items when we find them around town.
