So I stopped by Hive Coffee while on a road trip, and unfortunately, this was NOT the coffee…read moreexperience I was hoping for.
I guess I entered on the wrong side because I didn't see any signs, so I parked and walked up to the window. When I asked how everything worked, the cashier told me it was drive through only. So I got back in my SUV and drove around to the menu.
The menu only showed the regular options, but since I had already walked up to the window, I knew there was a fall menu too. I actually had to drive up to the ordering window just to see all the options. The fall menu had some great choices, and I finally settled on a large hot coffee with cookie butter, toasted marshmallow, and sugar free vanilla. My wife ordered a matcha.
She said her matcha was good, but MY coffee? Despite all those flavors, it was watery AND flavorless. How?!
To make matters worse, my coffee lid wasn't secured properly, and I wasn't given any napkins. The coffee spilled ALL over my light colored pants, and of course, I'm on my way to an event!
The cups felt cheap, the cashier with piercings was hella meh, and the old bank drive through setup was extremely tight. I drive an SUV, so navigating that little wraparound wasn't enjoyable either.
Overall, between the confusing setup, lack of signage, disappointing coffee, and spilling it all over my clothes, I won't be returning.
For me, it would've been worth finding a Starbucks, Dunkin', or even McDonald's instead of stopping at Hive Coffee.
Shoutout to the caffeine because that was the ONLY good thing I got out of this experience!
