First it was pressed properly and the bread was the correct bread (you would be surprised how many times I've run into these issues). BUT the price was $8 for 1 gas station Cuban and I felt that was excessive especially when it was mostly bread. I'm also a sucker for a good Cuban so I'll pay it if it's worth it. In my opinion this was an average Cuban sandwich and not worth the cost. Not the worst I've had but definitely not the best and not $8 worth. I've had some amazing Cubans but this wasn't it. Now if you are in the area and want a quick lunch and really don't want a 7-11 hot dog across the street, this could be your go to. The selection of high quality meat here is plenty wide enough to satisfy any carnivore's taste! The beef is black angus and the pork is Duroc. Plus, if you want to splurge you can get Wagyu! They also have a huge selection of blended spice rubs which work really well with the meats. Inventory also includes frozen seafood and game but we haven't tried this yet. Our time will come. This place is special! The moment i first walked in It felt like being back home in NJ. Not only did I feel like I was home Ron the owner immediately made me feel like an old friend or should I say felt like I was part of the family. Ron besides being friendly and inviting is also a foodie by heart! Not only is he a foodie he is a food snob but I say that with kindness and as a compliment since that has paid off in the variety and his insistence of quality (and I stress quality!) of the products he purveys. Ron shared with me the names of the suppliers he uses for everything from the top bagel maker in the county to his bread and roll baker to the bakery he gets his donuts and pastries from they are all rated the best in the Tampa Bay Area. I immediately got excited when I saw the pastries in his showcase. I scoped out the jelly donuts and immediately realized that these were not Dunkin or lowly Publix donuts but these were SPECIAL!!! They immediately brought memories of my childhood and my father bringing me to a REAL bakery to get the powdered jelly donuts I loved and savored as a child...But wait a minute these donuts were something different they were huge like the size of a baby"s head! They turned out to be everything I dreamed and craved about for years and even more due to their size!!!! I marveled at the delicious-looking and so inviting Italian breads and rolls that were on display for sale. This café is a labor of love on Ron's part not only does he insist on providing quality goods Ron shared with me that he's out the door at 4:30 A.M.daily to make his run to pick up the days baked goods from his three suppliers! The café provides really tasty and delicious coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso drinks as well. I sampled an Americano coffee which I purposely ordered black so that I could taste the quality of the beans and the brew and I've got to say the coffee was dark, rich, bold and inviting. Did I tell you they make some mean breakfast and lunch sandwiches? It again brings me home to see a and I firmly say for you former New Jerseyites a Taylor Ham and egg and cheese on a delicious roll on the breakfast menu! I want to go back to try one of the daily lunch specials they offer. Someone shot pictures of the meatballs Ron's wife makes for their lunchtime meatball parm sandwiches and they looked so inviting. Ron mentioned to me that his wife makes all the Italian dishes and sauces that they serve and also offer for sale in the freezer display case in the café. Ron is so proud of the items that he offers that he gave me both an apple fritter and a loaf of the Italian bread he sells and makes his sandwiches with to bring home and sample and I've got to say both baked items were delicious especially the semolina bread which reminded me again about the real Italian bread I would get in North Jersey and in Little Italy in NYC. Ron also shared with me his plans for expansion. Business is going so well that Ron has taken over the adjoining storefront to be able to provide more tables and seating for his customers. It's really good to see a new business thriving in Dunedin. Don't pass Main Street Brews by, stop in and say hello to Ron and try something delicious!
