My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation!

Zach made a strong impression from the start--when he came out to inspect my roof and I told him of a problem area, he went up on the roof to look at it! Replacing the roof took only one day, the crew arrived early and worked very hard. I also had the gutters replaced, opting for 6" gutters. The larger size has made a huge difference, as they're less likely to get clogged. My home is in good shape thanks to Winfield Builders!

Victor came out and conducted a garage attic inspection using a tall ladder ceiling hatch. He didn't enter the lighted attic but just did a visual inspection using a flashlight. After his inspection, Victor claimed one side of my roof needed an asphalt roofing patch. What he didn't tell me was that, five to six feet from his attic ladder inspection, was an extremely obvious water pipe leak that had created black fungus on nearby wood. So obvious you could easily view without a flashlight. So what we have here is deceiving a possible customer by telling him he has a roofing leak when, in reality, a plumber was needed to correct the interior water pipe leak. Thus, my one-star rating, which actually should be lower.

Then I tried to get them to come back and fix it. No luck. I have 100s of photos of issues from this company. I can't upload them all but hopefully from my review you get the idea. Buyer beware. Do not use this company!!! Oh they also don't believe in getting permits. Didn't find that out until the inspector stopped by and shut it down. How does a reputable company forget to get permits??? And as time goes on I find more issues. It's beyond frustrating. I just can't even think about this company without getting upset. He will also use leftovers or cheap replacements for items you ordered. He will change them without asking. So if you ordered a blue trim. You'll get bluefish and he hopes you don't notice. It's probably left over from another job and he doesn't want to spend money on what you wanted. He will take advantage every time he can. Oh and he will make a mess and leave it for you to clean up. You will have damage that wasn't there when he started.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.

The pricing (including the possible expansion in scope & cost) was completely transparent. When it turned out that we had some rotten fascia and a flat roof that would need replacement, the team was diligent in sharing very clear photographs of the damage, as well as transparent that the flat roof repair we needed was not in their wheelhouse.
