Ordered takeout for the first time from here. My husband had wonton soup and egg foo young. They were both good. I ordered a medium to spicy kung pow tofu and a vegetable egg roll. The egg roll was tasty except there was no mustard or sweet and sour sauce :-(. The king pow tofu was a total disappointment. It was mostly tofu in a brown sauce with three pieces of broccoli. It was not spicy at all and tasted very bland. I would never order it again. The pick up was on time and store was easy to find. We have been coming here for 20 years. I think at some point it changed ownership and for the last few years it has gone down hill tremendously. I don't think we will be getting take out here any more. Food gives you a stomach ache and that isn't from eating to much. TERRIBLE!!! Order at your own risk. Pork fried rice was disgusting, had a weird old taste to it. The chicken wing was hard, old and dry. I feel like I can't find a lot of good Chinese restaurants in the greater Cleveland area, but Peking Chinese is actually a really good Chinese place. It's a hole in the wall and the interior is a little dingy, but all the food I've had there has been very good. Some of my family's favorites include the spicy wontons, the szechuan chicken with vegetables and the General Tsos. Even the egg rolls have been pretty good. Decent prices for the portions too. Ordered through door dash for delivery at specific time. Dasher waiting for order messages me that the total was wrong. Well how could it be wrong when it is on door dash and order was confirmed. Peking told door dash they raised the prices but doesnt have time to correct pricing on door dash. My dasher paid the difference so she could get me my order. Of course I paid her back when she arrived. And now my ordet is 30 minures late and food cold. I will order else where from now on. The food is good but now very over priced and scammed me! Ordered from here and loved their egg rolls! So crispy!!! UNFORTUNATELY... they left out our order of lo mein and I called to ask about it. They were very kind and offered to include it free with our next order. When we called back a few months later to order and claim the forgotten lo mein the manager claimed that their computer could only look back on orders for the past 2 months so they couldn't reimburse me or include their promised noodles. The people that I had originally spoke to that kindly offered me the get a free lo mein with my next order never mentioned that there was a time limit on the offer to claim that food that I had already paid for and they had forgotten. I stumbled across this place as I was going to the UPS store. I decided to try it on a whim. To be honest, I haven't found too many takeout Chinese that I have fully liked. I am glad that i found this place. It is a traditional take out Chinese where they expected dishes and short on phone. The food is very good. The egg rolls taste like they may have been homemade as the cabbage in them is fresh and crunchy. My chicken with veggies was good with a great portion. My family's go to take out place. I have been ordering from here for over a decade and the food always remains the same. Management has changed once during that time but even then, the food didn't change. Whenever and whatever I order, it is always fast and hot. What a surprise. I had zero expectations, however, I didn't think it would be that good. I got the Moo Shoo Pork and an order of spare ribs. Everything was amazing and the ribs were very big compared to what I've gotten elsewhere. Even my leftovers I took for lunch were really good. I told myself when I moved here from Columbus last year that I would not write too many positive reviews on Yelp because the restaurants just get overcrowded, and it is hard to get served. After seeing reviews of Peking Chinese and only a 3-Star rating, I have to say something. I've spent more than a year in the Orient. I love Oriental cuisine. This is the best Carry-Out Chinese food I've had in years. The one problem I've experienced is consistency. I first ate here Saturday, and then reordered the same meal on Monday. Saturday I felt like a glutton; Monday was just okay. For those whining about customer service, it's a different culture for crying out loud. I'll bet they know more English than you know Chinese. Be respectful, and don't expect to be dealing with Auntie Em. You want good Chinese food for a good price? This is the place. You want good customer service? Go someplace where you can get a massage. Hmm all right. So I was stuck inside having to work on a take home exam and I was craving Chinese food. Pros: Very efficient. I live in a zoo of an apartment complex and I am super impressed that someone arrived at my door lickity split. REALLY impressed with the service. Cons: The food. I got some won ton soup, crab rangoons and beef and broccoli. I was really impressed at how many of those noodle things were in the won top soup. Normally when you get a small you have like one, maybe two of the noodle thingies. But my little cup was jam packed with them. Score! The meat inside of them didn't taste all that great though. I just took the meat out and ate the noodles. (My dog enjoyed the meat filling!) The crab rangoons (a fave of mine) were very meh. I'm not really sure if the outside or the inside was the problem (or both), but I've definitely had better. The beef and broccoli was also very uneventful and not super tasty. So overall, I'm not entirely sure I'll order through them again. If I do and I order something different and it is yummy I will be sure to write an update and adjust the rating accordingly. At the very least, you can't go wrong with the service. And maybe I just did a bad job in my food choices. Maybe they're known for something else. I had never had Peking before today. All of my go-to Chinese restaurants have really lacked in quality lately so I stopped going. Decided to give them a try. WOW! It was absolutely delicious! I had quite a few modifications to my order and they got it all right. The food wasn't overly salty like most places, but also not bland. The shrimp chips were crispy but didn't taste fishy. The lo mein wasn't clumped together, it had a great amount of the sauce that kept it moist. The beef in the rice was tender. It was all just jam-packed with flavor!! So,we decided to give it another try since 1.) they are the only Chinese food restaurant in our area that delivers and 2.) we could order online. We were pleasantly surprised! First of all, online ordering is the way to go- fast and super easy. Second, inexpensive- two meals under $20.00 total including delivery fee which is minimal ($2.00). I don't know if they changed owners, changed suppliers, or both but they have just not been the same. Their food literally has zero flavor and it seems that the actual food items themselves are totally different. Cheap, yummy, and they deliver! Yay! I went out on a limb by ordering from here and was pleasantly surprised. I almost exclusively get my Chinese food from Imperial Dragon in Mentor, buuuut I was feeling lazy and didn't want to put real pants on, so I ordered from the only Chinese place I knew would deliver to me. I got crab rangoon, eggs rolls, shrimp toast, shrimp lo mein, and pepper steak. The crab rangoon, eggs rolls, and pepper steak were what I expected (average). I was impressed by the shrimp lo mein! The shrimp was a nice size, tasted fresh, and didn't have that gross poop vein on them! Score! On the other hand, I will pass on the shrimp toast next time, it was subpar at best. I have ordered here many times, I have had a dozen different dishes, and all were very good. The rice is always fluffy and tasty, the meats always cooked right. They have forgotten my sweet and sour sauce a couple times or my drinks when ordering for delivery, so check your food immedietly. But still I highly recommend this place. read more
