This has been our favorite Chinese Restaurant in our area for years. They closed for awhile due to the current restrictions but they've finally reopened, yay!!! ( for take out only). Food is always good! Our faves are Gen Tso's Chicken (lightly breaded chunks of chicken in a thick spicy sweet sauce) , Sweet & Sour Pork & Crispy Cantonese style Duck. They don't skimp on the orders, containers are always very full. We've never been disappointed in their other menu items as well. We've tried their Pork Fried Rice & Lo Mein - both have plenty of whatever meat you ordered in them! You also get 2 free egg rolls when your total exceeds $20 . Highly recommend!!! read more

First time here, got the Hunan beef lunch combo and hot & sour soup. Really liked the soup, very peppery and a good kick to it; but it was thicker than normal. The Hunan beef was saltier than expected, but not bad. Good amount of beef and fresh veggies. Egg roll was pretty basic. May try again when in the area. read more

They were quick to deliver, but the food was oversalted and lacked flavor. We ended up throwing most of it out. The sweet and sour shrimp was a joke. The shrimp were microscopic, with a half inch coating of batter to make them look large. The lo mein was essentially spaghetti, meat and soy sauce, garlic powder and SALT; nothing in it could be identified as a vegetable. The dumplings tasted like they were stuffed with ground kielbasa. I know times are tough for restaurants, but come on, it's obvious they are pinching pennies on these ingredients. I wanted to get my money back but have you ever tried to get a refund from a Chinese restaurant? I'll count this as a 43 dollar lesson. And oh yeah, don't eat here unless you are constipated and looking for an IMMEDIATE resolution. I'm currently sitting on the toilet (for the third time) writing this. Rice is hard like it's undercooked and the combo fried rice is mediocre at best and I'm only giving it "mediocre" because they added peas and eggs. The proteins in this dish seems steamed on boiled rather than sautéed or fried. Won't come back again. read more

I work in the Columbia area and decided to try this place for lunch. I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch special. The service was a bit slow but not enough to bother me. HOWEVER, the Orange Chicken was not orange or chicken. When I opened the container, I noticed the smell and look was nothing like the Orange Chicken I was used too. The sauce looked and tasted like BBQ Sauce. It was not at all sweet or sticky. One bite into the "chicken" and I was immediately disgusted. The brown stringy "meat" immediately made me gag. I threw the entire container of food in the nearest trash can and have felt nauseous for the remainder of the day. This is the ONLY place I get Chinese food. Once I tried a new place for giggles and immediately regretted it. I always get the general tso chicken and the sweet and sour pork. The restaurant was a bit on the dark side, and the service was a bit slow...we waited about 10 minutes for our spring rolls and another 5 for our entrees, which was unusual since we were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time. The food though...amazing. I ordered the vegetable lo mein, and it was some of the best that I've ever had. Great little hole in the wall. I just moved to the area and was craving some Chinese and was not disappointed! It's affordable and good quality too. If I could give negative stars I would! I am BEYOND pissed at their so called service. I placed a delivery order online and saw that they charged a $4 gas fee. I was ok with this because I do live a ways from them. The order went through fine with nothing indicating any problem. I went on about my business cleaning the house. It had been about an hour and no sign of my food. I went to call to check on my order at which point the man who answered told me they tried to call me to tell me I was outside of the delivery area. I saw that I did have a missed a call but no message was left. I asked why they didn't leave a message to tell me this. The man, in a very nasty tone, asked "why didn't you pick up your phone"?! I tried to explain that I was doing things around the house and did not hear my phone. He just kept yelling at me. When I tried to explain that they should have just left a voicemail since that is what voicemail is for he hung up on me. When I tried to call back to ask if I had been refunded, they ignored my call. Needless to say, if I am in fact charged, I will be showing up in their restaurant to give them a piece of my mind. I went in and was really surprised on how the environment looked. I do not recommend this place if you want to spend money on a nice environment for a date. I see a desk in the area where people would eat at. On the desk their are textbooks and a girl that was doing her homework that supposedly serving us. This was a great Chinese place to grab a quick and affordable lunch at in Columbia. While it is nothing fancy, most lunch specials are between $6 and $8, which is hard to beat. I personally ordered shrimp and mixed vegetables with white rice for $7.25. My coworker ordered a General Tso's Chicken lunch special that came with an egg roll and fried rice for only $6.50. The food was tasty and filling. The service wasn't that impressive, but they did their job. The food orders were correct and they were accommodating when we needed separate checks for our table. Overall, I would absolutely come back here for a quick lunch, but if you're looking for a nice sit-down Chinese restaurant, there are probably higher quality options around the area. read more

So far the best place for Chinese take out that we've come across since living here in Columbia. The fried chicken wings were on point. A nice surprise was the egg roll that came with the lunch combo. Usually, I am disappointed with Chinese egg rolls because they are filled with just cabbage. However, the egg rolls here were an excellent blend of veggies and meat. We also tried the steamed dumplings which hit the spot. I'm a hot and sour soup junkie, and my craving was well satisfied. I look forward to trying the hot spicy wonton on our next visit...and the Peking duck. read more

The delivery service was quick and cheerful. They have a large selection. The portion size of the food was good for the money, but the food itself was very bland. I went in on my lunch hour. The lady acted as if my request to dine in was an inconvenience however I ignored it. I was seated way in the back. All the lights were left off in the restaurant. Ordered from here over the weekend. Found dog hair in my food and made me sick! I recently read a post about them letting their family members dogs in the restaurant and they have people / friends hanging out in their kitchen and not taking care of the customers. Found out that the owner of this place called yelp to complain about all of the negative comments and it makes sense because the one comment about the dogs in the restaurant is gone. I ordered from this place based on reviews, however I ended up highly disappointed with my order. I had the general tso's chicken and fried rice which was by far the worst I've ever had. They chicken tasted old and the sauce was very thick and gel like. And they don't add broccoli as most places normally do. The rice was old, crunchy in some places, and just plain boring. I decide to try this spot out for lunch since I've driven by this location numerous amount of times. I arrive and go inside to place my order for a chicken with broccoli spicy. Once the order was in the cashier asked (after seeing me pull out my credit card) if I had cash, I'm like if I had cash I would probably be paying that way. Then I asked if there was a problem if I was paying by credit and she stated no. I get my food and was excited to have my chicken and broccoli spicy because I know this is a meal that is almost impossible to mess up. After getting to my destination I open the bag and see there's an egg roll (which I'm not sure if it had beef in it, because that's what it looked like-and I do not eat red meat) I open the container to only see that 95% of the container has rice and it looked like I literally had a spoonful of chicken and broccoli, which wasn't spicy at all. I thought at first that maybe the rice was hiding the remaining chicken and broccoli, which this was not the case. There was only one piece of broccoli and chicken under all of the rice. Talk about disappointed!! I am dissatisfied with the meal and will not be returning to this restaurant. I'm sure there's other people that may like a lot of rice but I at least like an equal portion. I agree with the poster who said steer clear of "The Manor" if you want to taste your food. I wouldn't say Peking is out of this world, but it actually has taste which is more then i can say for the other restaurants in Columbia that I've tried. I have had a few misses at Peking, just like anywhere, but for the most part, the food is consistently a "4" in my book. I've even turned co-workers away from the Manor--they prefer Peking once I revealed its existence to them. read more

We have ordered with them for the past 10 years and have had several issues. They would often forget food like rice, etc. One time the order we got was so nasty it was impossible to eat, they made me drive it in to return it and they gave me a hard time about the food. The issue that finally did it was they gave us the wrong order, then they made me drive it back, then they insisted on charging me for the $2 difference in the items. I always order the same meals every time. They rang up the wrong thing. Not me. Huge inconvienience for me, and they charged me for it! yuck. They get 3 stars only because the food is above average. This place is a total hole in the wall. Last week I decided that my coworkers and I were going to go 'ethnic' for lunch on our three day training. I found this place as it was nearby our workplace. First thing worthy of note, we were the only table there just before noon. Secondly, seemingly every employee here was on the floor until we put in our order. We each ordered a lunch special of some sort. Big ups, they were all under $8. My other drawback? My coworker and I ordered a 'spicy' dish each and neither had any heat whatsoever.
