First time here! A very nice place with yummy fresh food! The selections are typical Chinese buffet fare but sometimes are limited compared to bigger establishments. The sushi for instance was limited to small California rolls. The cold peel yourself shrimp was small but fresh. The Crab Rangoon was outstanding! The soups were really good and hot. The servers seemed capable! My favorite part of my meal was the huge bowl of tapioca pudding...I could have bathed in that stuff! The decor is ready for a major update!!! It is a pretty standard Chinese Buffet. Bigger than it looks inside. There are 4 or 5 bars to choose off and most of what I had was good. The lo mien had a funny taste to me but that could have just been the water in the area. The lady stocking the bars understood rotation, she pulled each pan out, put the new one in and poured what was left on top. My only complaint was that they had a kid (10 or 11) on the cash register. He did not know what an itemized receipt is and had to get help. If that was the only problem, we had a good day. read more

My family and I visited Peking Buffet this evening. First visit since covid. It's not what it used to be. The food was not hot, not even warm at all. When they would bring out food to put on the bar, they poured it on top of the old cold food. The salad bar, the food was not cold. Luke warm. Definitely have an issue with temperature control. I used to really like this place but it is really lacking. The peanut butter chicken was my favorite and it doesn't even look good anymore. It was so hot in there I was sweating. Not exactly the most comforting buffet experience especially since most of their food is chicken. It has been really going downhill for the past month or so. Very good, great portions.. Ordered Take Out; Bought #64:quart Bean Curd with Broccoli, #60:quart Sautéed mixed vegetables, & #12:quart of Egg Drop Soup. Came with 2 small cartons of white rice, 2 bags of crispy strips & 2 fortune cookies... You may ask for sauces, chop sticks & silverware. Pleasant staff, 15-20 minutes to prepare items. We parked behind the Kroger's, came in the back from the street in the delivery area, turned around & was able to go back to the street without issues. Great alternative to fast food. This is by far the best Chinese buffet in the greater Ft Wayne area. The produce is top notch the fruit is good the hot dishes are just like I would make if I could. I have ate here weekly for many weeks and have not been disappointed with anything. Best time to go is about a half hour after 11am opening. read more

Always good showing up at your family's house in Indiana, and knowing that you will either eat pasta or Chinese food! Well we got word that it was going to be Chinese this time and we were trying a new place (for us) called Peking Buffett! We were ordering out, so we didn't actually get the buffet but I offered to pay and go get the food so I got to see the steam rolling off the food even at 8pm at night! It looked hot and delicious! Our take out order was hot and delicious as well! I got bean curd tofu with veggies and dang, I loved it.. The tofu was crispy and hot, just how I like it and I seriously downed my whole meal with rice included in about five minutes! No time for chopsticks here, we are going in with a fork and we ain't coming back out until every drip of the sauce is licked out of your plastic to go container! I was super stoked on my meal, and the service was very nice when I went to pick up the order as well, offering up extra sauces and fortune cookies! If you are in Auburn, IN or driving down I-69, and your fortune cookie is telling you it's time to eat, I would easily recommend! Peking Buffet! It was great! I will be back for sure! read more

In our quest to eat our way around the Chinese restaurants in Auburn (and, no, it won't take us long to do that--I believe there are three), we decided to try Peking Buffet tonight. It's located next to Kroger (off of Grandstaff), so parking is not an issue with the big lot right in front. I really wasn't in the restaurant itself for more than 2-3 minutes as I picked up my take-out, so can't comment too much on that. Other than to say my cursory glance saw no glaring issues or concerns. Ordered the Chicken with Garlic Sauce (intended to be spicy) and our other order was a combination platter of the Orange Flavored Chicken. The latter comes with Roast Pork Fried Rice and either an Egg Roll or your choice of soup (Soup Wonton, Egg Drop, or Hot and Sour). We opted for the Egg Roll. Can't comment on how good (or not good it was), however, as it never arrived in our lovely little carryout bag of goodies. Failure to provide correct order equals automatic one star deduction. Overall this food was easily 10x better than the food at China Buffet. The Chicken with Garlic Sauce was at least somewhat hot (spicy), but I did add some hot sauce to it (as it wasn't *that* spicy). Having a dish like that placed in the cute white papery quintessential take-out containers, though, is not a splendid idea. The container was wet and stained before I even got it out of the bag and that's just not overly appealing. Again, at least it was decent food. The Orange Chicken was pretty good (3.5 stars for that item versus 3 for the Garlic Chicken). I'm told that the Pork Fried Rice was also a thumbs up (especially compared to the other Chinese place). My white rice was your typical sticky white rice. Tasted fine. Wished I could get brown rice instead. The woman who took my order (and cashed me out at the restaurant) was definitely of the expected ethnic background, but was very understandable when repeating back my order. (Perhaps that may come across to some as racist. If so, then you should probably reread the definition of the word as there is nothing "superior" or "inferior" implied here .) I've certainly ordered from places where I just say "Ok, thanks" and have no clue what was just said to me. Let's be honest, it's helpful to be able to understand the person who works in a customer-service industry, so big A+ for them on that one. The woman was also pleasant, friendly, and efficient. My order was ready and waiting for me when I walked in the door. I really think for Chinese places, in general, it's a solid 3 stars. For Auburn, though, it's more like a 4 star Chinese place. However, ompared to places elsewhere it's not true "Yay! I'm a fan quality." They are open later than many places around here (at least 10pm every night except Sundays). The entire order was also just over $13 with plenty of food for lunch tomorrow. For "true" 4 star Chinese head West to Garret and go to Chef Peng's restaurant! Thanks for reading! P.S. Peking Buffet is a pretty poor excuse for Chinese food. It's not the worst i've had but its FAR from the best. The orange chicken is good as is the fried rice. One thing I've noticed is they have a great habit of severly skimping out on the protein in any dish containing veggies. The egg roles aren't good at all and the egg drop soup is so watered down the broth is more clear than yellow. One of my coworkers at one time even got an empty crab rangoon lol. All things considered it's a very cheap buffet, you walk out for less than $6. Nothing changes for the dinner service except the price, $2 more, I'm not sure why... The best part of the meal is dessert, by dessert I mean the hard ice cream that you serve yourself. Great flavor selection too! I'm going to make this review as short and sweet as possible. This is a no frills, American Chinese buffet. The food is always hot, but there's definitely not a lot of variety here. There are five/six stations: chicken/beef dishes, soups/speciality dishes, fried foods, salad/fruit, desserts, and ice cream. Decor is typical for a Chinese restaurant. The owner and family are very friendly as well. Also, they have the standard menu if you simply want to order carry-out. I've went here for Chinese food as long as this place has been open. Never gotten sick from the food or anything, for those that worry. So if you want Chinese, this is the place locals go to. read more
