We started going there some years back and food was always good and fresh. Well we haven't t been there I would say in 2 years so we went there tonight and the food was horrible! We stopped at around 4pm on Monday. The food was old, tough and dry. We could not even chew the egg rolls. The fish was really dry and old. Very disappointed in the whole meal. Told our server and he replied "what is tough and dry" we said everything. He said I will let them know. For $15 a person this was very bad. read more

The Great Wall is a rock solid option for Asian food in Angola. You can tell the place has been around for awhile when you look at the chairs, tables, carpet, and decor. I realize you can't give the restaraunt a face lift every six months so I can appreciate and acknowledge that on the day I visited they have done a good job of keeping the dining room clean. I would suggest a restroom renovation when they are asking what can we do to improve. The buffet is fairly large and offers a wide range of items hot and cold. We came during lunch so there wasn't anything that was sitting around very long or past it's hold time. The egg rolls were crispy, moist, and semi flakey. I think the black pepper chicken, sweet & sour chicken, and fried rice were my favorites off the bar. Fruit was nice, but I am guessing a large percentage came from a can. The service was really friendly and they are attentive even when you are eating off the buffet. I think the lunch special is a great value and I definitely felt like I ate my money's worth. I would recommend this place to people in the area, but I would not drive an hour to get here. read more

They do not have disabled parking spots designated which is illegal. If you order to go plan on waiting a long time for your order.

I will never eat there again. My daughter and I finally got a day to spend together without the grandchildren. I suggested we eat here, as she loves the food. We went in ordered our drinks and got our food. We got the buffet. Now mind you it was at 11:45 a.m. Took a bite of the Italian chicken, cold. Cheese stick, cold. Everything we got was cold. I want to first say that you can't judge a book by its cover. The outside appearance of the building makes it look run down and a little shabby but don't let that fool you. What it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in flavor. I had the coconut shrimp which tasted really good. Their other foods such as the frog legs were large and tasted really good. So I was on the fence about writing what had happened to me yesterday afternoon... but I feel the need to share my horrible experience at this establishment. I'm currently battling depression and terrible anxiety but I put it aside to go out with my family and have meal with them. Which I don't go out much but was feeling good and happy. The moment we got there a couple who was sitting in front of us kept on giving us nasty looks and then started saying awful comments about our kind people? I didn't understand I've never met this man or woman before but I tried to ignore because my kids and husband seem to be enjoying being out and I didn't want to ruin the moment for them but the comments got worse and worse by the moment. I finally finished feeding my one year old baby when I was going to serve myself then the man intimated me and said nasty and awful comments I walked away told the man in the front if he could please seat us elsewhere I kept on trying to hold my tears and be brave when the man in the front of the cashier asked if their was an issue I told them the couple was being rude and disrespectful which he asked if they were being racist and crying I said yes he asked if I would be comfortable in the back I told him yes he told one of the waiters which the waiter seem very un bothered about the couple being racist proceeded to put us one table away from them one table! the couple kept on trying to intimidate us especially the man and my family was confused to why we moved I didn't know how to explain to my 10-year-old daughter or my Latino husband that the couple didn't respect us as humans or a family to eat out because of the color of our skin I expected the establishment to have a zero racism tolerance but they did nothing they gave our check less than five minutes after they changed our table because it was me who was making things uncomfortable. I wanted to leave that moment but also wanted my family to finish their meals when the couple left they did some obscene gestures to my family I felt ashamed, disregard like what happened to me us didn't matter but it did it ruined my family night out and I just don't want it happening to any one else but this establishment has no care for other people maybe because it didn't happen to them or and all they think about is money but it will be my last time I will ever go there! read more

This is the number one chinese restaurant in Angola, IN !!! This place is Awesome. It's very nice when you walk in and your greeted with a smile. There is one flaw it's the smoking area ! I'm hoping that when they are done remodeling that smoking will be banned !!!! Other than that I love the food ! The eff rolls and dumplings are terrific. The buffet style is very nice. The owners are very nice and treat you like a family ! As soon as they finish the remodeling i will be the first one at the door !!! Meal are very inexpencive and you get plenty for the money. More variety than any other Chinese buffet I have eaten at. My favorite dish was the garlic chicken with brocolli and mild red peppers (EXCELLENT). Fried items (I.e. Egg rolls) sit too long, get really chewy. Potstickers were moist, not tough, but not as flavorful as other places I have been. I sampled Gen Tso's, Black pepper chicken, coconut shrimp, crab rangoons, Singapore chicken...it was all just fine, nothing to get all excited about. Waitstaff were VERY attentive with drink refills and clearing dishes. If you care about decor, you are going to time travel back, back, back to the 1970s :). Tables are LIGHT GREEN, booths and chairs are DARK GREEN. Walls are LEMON YELLOW. carpeting is OLD. You wont starve here and you can pick your ingredients at the Hibachi/Mongolian grill. The price is good (about $12 a person including a drink). NO chocolate fountain, No prime rib with dinner, NO steak cutlets. I would eat here again. read more

We walked in the Restaurant and it was warmer inside than outside. We walked over to the Buffet Bar. This male had removed the pan of mushrooms and steak, you could tell it was old, dark in color. Set it aside and set the fresh pan in the slot, proceeded to put that old right on top of the fresh food. The Soup, macaroni cheese, and quite a few other dishes were crusted over. The salmon was old, it wasn't even pink. I was totally disgusted with how they could even think to serve this old food to paying customers. I would hope this review would open some eyes to what you are eating should have disposed of in the trash not served to your customers. read more

I realize it's not a fine dining restaurant, but it's not very hard to check and see if your food needs replaced. Made my stomach turn that decided to get pudding.
