I have only been burned here once on Vietnamese spring rolls which were spoiled. The manager gave me a gift card and I will never order them again. Order in the front and you can either take the carryout home or eat in. Good service, nice staff but Americanized Chinese food. I am endlessly perplexed by the coke machine. Even the diet coke button leads to an array of flavored selections not just plain caffeinated diet coke. There is a a sweet tea urn and a unsweetened green tea urn with orange flavoring. No simple unsweetened black tea. I prefer family owned authentic Asian food but then I am more adventurist than most. read more

Called them before their closing time but they would not answer the phone to take my order. It's irritating that restaurants are open until certain time but won't let you leave an order in the restaurant to go because they want to walk out at exactly closing time. Closing doesn't mean leaving time. You close, you clean and then you leave. read more

I always enjoy this Pei Wei! It's kind of our go-to when were in Cordova. Partly because there are almost no good mom n pops in this area and partly because you actually get pretty healthy options here. You can even substitute brown rice instead of fried or white! My only complaint is that the cook of the dishes and spice level truly varies based on who's cooking. You can get the same dish on different days and it'll taste different and definitely be a different spice level, so that kinda sucks. It's still usually really tasty, but I don't like that element of surprise. On the other hand, it is cooked to order, and very fresh. They have so many different options, and usually really good deals going on like 5$ Mondays and Tuesdays. This location is clean, even the bathrooms. The drink area isn't always stocked, but there's not much to complain about. Staff is friendly... overall, you should come here! read more

So, I was craving Chinese food tonight and decided against my husband's better judgment to come here. I ordered the Honey Chicken with white rice and the rice was just a little old. I asked for fresh rice, and unbeknownst to me, this was a mistake on my part. It was made known that I don't know what I'm talking about and I don't know what fresh rice is. How? The employees are clearly unaware of the acoustics because I could hear them talking about me and my request on the other side of the restaurant. But they did bring me hotter rice from the same batch, so I guess someone found it within themselves to attempt to acquiesce to my request. The manager did his best to make the experience right and it was truly, sincerely appreciated. A word of advice for anyone who has something bad to say about their customers politely asking for good quality food: learn how to whisper. read more

We came in and were looking for a table and I have a family of 6. They have nothing to accommodate parties larger than 4. We tried to scoot an empty table over to add it for 2 extra people, and they came over and told we couldn't sit with each other, because it is a safety risk. What safety risk is there if we are a family and are with each other all the time. I will not waste my money here until they can fit my and many other families accommodations. I was recently a first time visitor to Pei Wei. The restaurant looked very nice with regard to esthetics: dark wood grained tables, dedicated water machine, easily visible signage, and employees dressed in black uniforms with the Pei Wei logo. Unfortunately, the food had to be the absolute worst tasting Asian food I've experienced in the Mid South. I ordered the DanDan Noodles with a cup of Sweet & Sour soup. The soup tasted like canned Campbell's beef with soy sauce, complemented with clearly aged chunks of tofu. The DanDan Noodles looked initially appealing with the freshly sliced cucumbers and bean sprouts, but it was the appearance and taste of the noodles that reminded me of the classical spaghetti pasta. The flavor of the meat sauce wasn't bad, however the meat lacked freshness. If you can't get the food you're serving right, what's the point in visiting. read more

I've eaten here several times but it just gets worse with each visit. Tonight I got Teriyaki Chicken over fried rice. (Had spinach, red peppers, onions sesame seeds and Snow peas). The snow peas are usually sweet and delicious but these were so bitter I couldn't eat them. The entire dish did not have ANY teriyaki flavor at all, it only tasted like bitter peas. There was a big bone in one of my chicken pieces. The entire meal, which I couldn't finish, has left a terrible after taste. I'm hoping it wasn't contaminated or something because the flavor was really bad and chemical tasting. I would have said something but it was close to closing time and ALL the employees seemed to be hanging out in a back room somewhere so there was no one to tell. In frustration I left. I left the bone on my receipt so they would hopefully see it. I was terribly disappointed in my dinner. read more

I used to go to the one in Memphis when I was living on campus. I loved it so much that when I saw the chance to eat at another one I was super excited. (I was sad when the one in Memphis closed). It's been awhile, but I think I remember enjoying the Thai Dynamite and Pei Wei Spicy but I'd need to try them again to make sure I still like them. I was craving Pad Thai, so I gave it a shot. However, I really didn't like it here. The noodles are a little too thick and chewy and the nuts are halved instead of crushed. Also, the flavors were just not what I was expecting. I know I like this place, but I will need to stick to Thai places whenever I get Pad Thai cravings. I'm sad though because it ripped my stomach up pretty bad. I'd have to try it again but I'm afraid my stomach may not be able to handle the food here anymore. I will definitely try it again if I get the chance. The service was great. The servers helped me out and got me any of the things I asked such as extra limes, peanuts, and chile flakes. TRIPLE!! I haven't made it out here to this neck of the woods in a while. I was happy to meet a colleague here for lunch the other day. I like the layout of these stores. They have lots of menus without being overwhelming while keeping a good Asian decor. The line moves quickly and we get to the register in a fairly short time. I ordered the sweet and sour rice bowl with fried rice. It was good, but there was a slight glitch in the fried chicken (it was a little over cooked). The vegetables were flavorful though. Owned by the same folks as P.F. Changs, this is simple a scaled down and more casual version with similar food - at less expensive prices. There isn't waiter service here, so you have to order your food in a line, almost cafeteria style, but usually it moves pretty quickly. The place is clean and the decor nice and modern. And the food is great. I love the Orange Peel Chicken. It's exactly like that at P.F. Changs. I also really like their Kung Pao Chicken. It's nice and spicy, just the way I like it. This place can get a little busy during lunch hour, so going either before noon or after 1 might save you some time. read more

Incredibly disgusting. Beef dish was chunks of beef fat stir fried in extra heavy brown sauce designed to hide the fact it was beef fat and not actually meat. Pei-Wei (pronounced Pay-Way) is delicious! It's more of a fast food style restaurant but it's very delicious! I especially love the Honey Seared Chicken with fried rice and the Mongolian Beef with fried rice! I went through a health kick a few years ago and in doing so discovered that you can order any of the fried meals "stock velvet" which means basically that they aren't fried they are prepared differently for a healthier option. That's not the technical definition of "stock velvet" but you get the point! The Edamame is delicious too! Their Sweet Tea mixed with the Orange Tea is the perfect blended beverage! Beer and Wine are available as well. The Snicker Doodles are good. They gave me one once to try and I couldn't resist! The sweet chili sauce is a great selection of sauce with this dish. The rice bowl was an excellent pick also. Place is very very clean. Pei Wei is the lower-end cousin of P.F.Chang's. While the menu is not identical, there are similar items. This is a non-fancy, self-service fastfood Asian restaurant but it's not one of those awful Chinese buffet restaurants where all the items in the buffet taste the same. You can customize their Signature Dishes with your choice of meat and your choice of sauce. It's a pretty good deal for the price. My favorites are Mandarin Kung Pao and Thai Dynamite. This is a great choice if you want good Asian-style food on a budget. read more

The food here is great. If you like PF Chang's, you'll like Pei Wei. Many of the items on their menu are featured here, along with some other things you can't get there. It's also very reasonably priced, since it doesn't involve waiter service. However, they do bring the food to your table and if you ever need anything that isn't out (say, you need more of the sauce that came with your meal) there's always people walking around you can ask. The only thing I hate is the seating. Since it's all self-service people can sit wherever they want and stay for as long as they want. It means if you go at the wrong time, you'll find people sitting alone hogging an entire booth, leaving you with your larger party screwed. But I try to go at off times and it's fine. Oh, and their take out system is awesome. You can order everything online (I love restaurants that offer this), walk in, and pick it up. Plus the packaging for everything is great. They give you plenty of plasticware, napkins, soy sauce, etc. I love take out places that do that, rather than just assuming you have everything already. (What if I'm staying at a hotel?) MMMM mmmm good, and at a price my wallet can afford. I have a few favorite restaurants, and I try to pick one each weekend that funds allow. On Saturday I told myself I needed to try something new. I was near the Wolfchase area, so I pulled into Pei Wei. (It's near Kohl's on Germantown Parkway.) I couldn't quite figure out what door to use, because the one closest to the road has "take away" in big letters. I tried the side of the building, and it worked out. I liked it so well Saturday I went back Sunday. First things first. The crab wantons are homemade! They make the crab wantons served at most other restaurants seem like they are totally different food types, or not food at all. I will be craving (homemade) crab wantons the entire week. The edamame is the same everywhere, but it's cheap here at $2.95. I like how they serve a little extra ramekin of salt, if one needed it. (I didn't.) Speaking of salt, my friend had a very different experience, when the restaurant had just opened. Her meal was too salty. That was weeks ago, and both my meals had just the right bit of salt. I had the Dan Dan Noodle Bowl Saturday for about $7: Chile-seared garlic soy, minced chicken, scallion, bean sprouts, cucumber, egg noodles. Wowza. I tried the Thai Dynamite with chicken Sunday for about $9: Sriracha chili sauce, soy, fresh lime, scallions, red bell peppers, carrots, Thai basil. I thought it would be spicier than it was, and I was worried that I had overextended myself. It wasn't spicy at all, and the chicken was delicious. The only tiny downside is that I cannot recommend the brown rice. Triple blah. It's probably not as healthy, but I'll be going with white rice or non-rice dishes from now on. The ambiance and decor are quite nice. It's very easy to order. The unsweeted cold green tea beverage was tasty and I wish more places had it. These three items are the only good things about Pei Wei. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken while I ordered the Pad Thai. My husband's chicken wasn't sweet and had a major twang of vinegar. My Pad Thai was worse - it was *drenched* in vinegar. Pad Thai usually has a peanut taste, but all I could taste was vinegar, vinegar and more vinegar. We get takeout from here once every week or two. If you are a member of Pei Wei rewards, they have good deals they send out by email. Why do we keep coming back? The service is OUTSTANDING. As soon as you order your food, they start cooking it from scratch, and it doesn't usually take them long to prepare the rice bowls. The cashiers are awesome, they take the orders and even remind you to put your rewards # in (which I always forget). Breanna is a delight, she will brighten your day. All the workers are friendly and helpful. The food is consistently good. The only thing, the rice bowls aren't as good when you heat them up the next day, I usually throw out leftovers if it has been 2 days...lol. This our absolute favorite restaurant! Every time we eat here we are pleased with our service. Yesterday we ate there for lunch. We ordered our usual and when they came out I noticed the noodles had an off color as well as a weird taste. My daughter noticed too. Since we eat here at least once a week, I knew there was something wrong with the noodles. I spoke with the manager and he was so polite, took our food and remade everything, then only charged us half price for our meal. I've reviewed a different location (on Union) and I had a mixed emotions about that location. I had a similar problem with this location. I first have to express that the food has great flavor (at least the chicken) but I was not crazy about the rice. I felt like the rice was 2/5 quality and flavor. It honestly felt like it was dollar tree microwaveable rice. It was below par. The wait was too long (35minutes) for it being fast food. Luckily a manager or an employee noticed and handed us a $10 gift card to Pei Wei. The portions are complete but be careful what you order. I've been pretty disappointed with PF Chang's since they changed their menu recently. I was thinking this place was going to be the same with pre-prepared food. I was wrong. The menu is simple but you can add whatever meat you want to the dish. Ordering is cafeteria style, but they do bring your food to the table. They were super fast at bringing out the appetizer AND my toddler's meal. That earned big bonus points from me. I love how you can see them cooking the food, also a bonus for my toddler.
