Wanted a quick lunch when returning to out hotel, amd we noticed a very enthusiastic worker calling to us from a 2nd floor balcony to come to his restaurant. We decided "why not?" and reward him for his efforts after quickly scanning the menu. We ended up sitting on the 2nd floor walkway area as it was a nice day. It was perhaps 2:00 pm on a weekday and the restaurant was not that busy. A nice place to sit, to watch the people and traffic below, but later in our lunch, the hot sun started encroaching where we were sitting. So something to keep in mind. Ordered a chicken salad, fries, and these prawns sauteed in butter mushrooms. Have to say everything was tasty. I particularly liked the fries the best - so crunchy on the outside, and hot and fluffy on the inside. The prawn and mushroom dish was equally good, and although we thought we were not that hungry, we polished it off! Salad was okay. Also they brought freshly baked complimentary bread with some dipping sauce, which was good, and after our meal, complimentary baklava. The price of the prawn dish was a bit misleading. Menu photo showed 550 liras with 3 prawns. So when ordering, we asked if "two for each person" (4 total) was possible. "No problem" was the reply, and so I thought they would charge 4/3 of 550 liras, or thereabouts. But when. The check came, we were charged 2200 liras. So apparently the 550 liras price was for each prawn! (Even though the menu photo showed more than one!) Would have given 5 stars for the food and service, but thought we were misled a bit for that one dish price, so I will dock 1 star...

Ramiz is a popular chain throughout Turkey, serving a variety of kebabs and kofte. The menu is in Turkish, but there are pictures, so it makes it easy to order as a non-Turkish speaker -- we accidentally left our phrasebook at the hotel, and managed just fine. The food was great; we had a delicious lentil soup, with well seasoned and tasty kofte (meatballs), served with a lovely big pita bread.
