His passion, talent, and story telling is unmatched! The roast dinner was delicious and the cocktails were so fun! They take great care with the details around the pub, giving nods to history while pushing forward progress within the re-adoption of traditional Scottish music. Come for a drink or a meal, and stay for the vibes, history, and immense talent on stage.

Re: Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding…read more To the Greek couple we met in Inverness, with great apologies, we suffered confusion of which delicious desserts we had at various restaurants around the city, inadvertently directing you towards a place that did not serve sticky toffee pudding. We should have pointed you towards MacGregor's as having the most delicious sticky toffee pudding, now verified after having several others that did not perfectly balance sweet with salt as that of the sticky toffee pudding at MacGregor's. If the pub is full, please find your way to the end of the bar and the small door to the left that takes you to the cosy table service room where Jess and other wait staff, including little Nala, will take the best care of you. We also highly recommend the steak & ale pie and fish & chips, should you require something a bit more than the sticky toffee pudding. Again, apologies, and we are certain you will have a fantastic experience at MacGregor's!

The service was excellent and the place was very welcome with great views. The food was so tasty and fresh. The seasoning on the sandwich was phenomenal! Probably one my favorite means in Scotland! The hotel staff was lovely and helpful. We were smart enough to have made a dinner reservation before our arrival for our one night stay. Nice pubby dark wood décor and seating spread over a couple of rooms. Many tables occupied on our visit. Dinner menu Scottish leaning as to be expected. It was clear from the outset that they were low on staff with our (very young) server and water coming a good bit after seating. My partner was not real hungry this evening so chose to do a bowl of the soup the day-potato & leek. This came with a wonderful, fresh roll. The roll was pronounced fantastic. We have enjoyed many an excellent bread item in Scotland and this was another example here. They know what they're doing. The soup was very tasty but after a few spoonfulls, it became "boring". My choice was a Filet of Scottish Sea Trout (yes it is different from Salmon, Google it). Served with roasted new potatoes, braised leeks, herb crusted baby carrots, and smoked mussel butter sauce. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, as were the leeks. The carrots were interesting with the herb "crust", and the mussel sauce added an umami depth to the fish. Interestingly, the sauce included a few nicely cooked, out of the shell, mussels. A succulent addition. Loved every bite. For dessert, we chose a Cinnamon Apple Tart with Caramel Whipped Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream. All of this came together for a scrumptious finale to our meal. Especially the whipped cream. Perfect portion size also. Different planning could have put us here for a longer period of time and it would have been wonderful. If you are traveling in this area, try to either stay or eat here. You won't regret it. Highly recommended.
