While on an extended weekend trip to the Bay Area, Dear Hubby and I found ourselves in this area, trying to find a Starbucks on our way out of town. We both needed to use the restroom before our long drive, and get a refreshing drink. The counter service was provided by a cashier who was very friendly and helpful, since we're not familiar with Peet's menu. The front of the shop is attractive and seemed to be clean. The order came up pretty quickly. The restroom situation was another story. They have two gender neutral rooms. The one I was in was out of the essential paper one needs, and the floor was strewn with all manner of paper bits. The quality of the paper towels was such that they would shred and rip, with pieces ended up on the floor. It looked like it hadn't been checked for many hours. Sometimes restrooms do require a re-stock and at least a minimal cleaning. They also didn't have Stevia packets as available condiments for the drinks. That's a big fail for DH and me. Overall, our visit to this location only reinforced why we don't choose Peet's as a normal go-to coffee place. The drinks aren't the pleasing to our taste, and there tends to be some kind of lacking in getting it right at each of their stores I've been to. We just aren't Peet's people, it seems. read more

The barista Angel did an amazing job on my drink!! My drink was so refreshing and he was kind!!!

So my trick is to order the coffee with lots of room and just add half and half to it. I feel that it gives me the smoothness of a latte with the richness of the half and half, and it's cheaper than ordering the latte by far. Peets coffee tends to be stronger than Starbucks for me, so the coffee here does the job of the espresso. read more

If you have all the time in the world to wait for your coffee, than this is your go to place. I usually go to Starbucks or some other local coffee place, but this morning since I was at Whole Foods, I thought I would treat myself. I was there this morning at approx 10:55am....not real busy...Got right up to cashier and ordered a regular coffee with room for cream....Simple right? Wrong..... Usually at Starbucks the cashier pours you coffee and just hands it to you....The dark haired clerk started talking to another employee and turned her back on me....so I thought well maybe they don't do it like Starbucks......So here begins the wait..... Customers came in and order their drinks (not a regular coffee) and they were getting theirs....Then I thought well maybe she's making regular coffee because they are out? Or maybe the barista is supposed to pour it? So the wait continues..... Finally after a few more customers came in and got their coffee, I went up to the cashier and said where is my coffee....Just a plain coffee.....Large.... and wait for it..... Oh, I forgot...... Then she asks me what kind of coffee??????????????? I said anything at this point....So she fills it up to the rim and hands it to me....NO apology....Nothing....in fact she acted bothered..... Peets do better....or at least hire someone with more than one brain cell.....Someone that smiles and is happy to be there..... If she would have said sorry I blew it....I would have had more respect for her...but you could tell she really didn't want to be there... This was a quick hit & run for me. Getting ready to drive home, I felt the need for some caffeine before I hit the bridge. I managed to find a parking space a block away and placed my order on the app for a Large Iced Golden Latte, customized to my liking. By the time I walked in the store, my drink was sitting there waiting for me. This is the way it should always be. Now, if only they could figure out how to stay open until 7:00 pm at more locations. read more

Chocolate syrup with fiery spice note was really delicious, basically its's a fusion of rich chocolate and notes of warming spices with some quality espresso shots and milk. Unfortunately its a seasonal item and its only available around Fall. Can't wait to get some more next year! read more

I rarely get to go to Peet's Coffee to actually get a drink; more-so it's for the coffee beans, BUT w/ such the welcoming of the friendly staff, especially DANTE! I fell in love with this Peet's when I used to come only on weekends but I am very disappointed by the weekday AM shift. I try to give this place second chance, but I'm just not feeling the morning shift here. Well, Cassandra is in the back. The other lady is working to fulfill all the orders and she picks and choose her favorite to say hi to. I used to be a regular here, but there's an inconsistency with the way. I absolutely love the Peet's team we have right now (November-December 2024)! Everyone is so positive and welcoming. Knowing my love for pumpkin spice latte, they even saved a bottle of syrup just for me. After every workout, I always stop by to grab coffee from these guys because the emotions from visiting this café are a thousand times better than just the morning coffee itself. I don't understand the negative reviews. Over the past year of visiting Peet's, I haven't noticed anything bad or disrespectful toward the customers, even when there's a huge line. Terrible terrible service. They messed up our drink, when I asked for the correct drink, the barista proceeded to make the drink, slide it to me rudely where it almost fell off the counter, AND made the drink wrong TWICE. Here's what you need to know if you're working out of this Peets: Back of the house is freezing cold. Even with a sweatshirt and down jacket I'm uncomfortable. A few short tables with 2 chairs, plus a same height bar/table with chairs. Outlets accessible in the corners along the wall. Two comfy chairs in the back corner perfect for a chat, still cold though. The front where you order drinks stays warm... too warm? There's only 1-2 tall tables in front window, often without chairs and folks waiting for their pick up hang there. Two other tables in the front area with a lot of foot traffic. Again I can always county on Peets for consistent great tasting cappuccino and service with a genuine smile. read more

Dismayed to see the espresso machine changed for an automated one. Big mistake, we have those at work and they make lousy espresso, I am not paying Peets prices for a vending machine experience. One problem with these is with a manual one everything is in the open and stuff is cleaned in between use, the barista has much control. God knows what goes on inside these machine or how often they are cleaned inside. For all I know my espresso shot may have sifted through caked used coffee grounds from a week ago , yikes!! If I could give this place a zero I would. Walked out before even ordering because the lady in the front who looks like she should have retired 5 years ago had the worst customer service. We walked in with our service animal and she yells across the room excuse me excuse me the dog can not be in her condescending infront of another customer. I politely let her know it was a service animal. No apology. Most places ask politely and let you know if it is not whatever there policy is. This is not an inclusive environment. read more

I stepped through the door of this Peet's and a guy called out 'Welcome in" then continued to talk to another barista at the espresso machine...for several minutes. It was about 4:30pm I walked over to the counter where they were chatting (just to make sure they saw me) and then back to the register. After another minute or so the guy came over and asked 'How can I help you?' (smiling) I gave him my coffee order. He 'corrected' me and called it some fancy name saying "oh you mean a"....blah blah, blah. And proceeded to charge me $1 more than I usually pay for the exact same drink at the 'other guys'. He didn't give me a discount for using my own mug. (I bring my mug to all the coffee houses doing my part to save land-fill) I mentioned to him that the 'other guys' don't charge for whipped cream and I walked to the condiment bar. He called out to me across the room BY MY NAME (I guess he got it off my CC) "...we do charge for whipped cream." There are many other coffee houses in the area competing for my money and vying for my attention. I won't be returning to this Peet's location. Between being ignored and confronted by snarky baristas, lol, it's been a pretty disappointing coffee day. read more

Flat out couldn't buy coffee. There were two girls behind the counter, and one helped the lady in front of me. When that was done, she had other things to do. And I don't mean make the ladies drink, and it wasn't a simple coffee pour. Crumpling bags, organizing the counter, straightening her apron, etc. I would say I waited 3 times longer than a patient person would wait. I wasn't in a huge rush but I do work, ya know? This Pete's Coffee sets the standard for all others as far as I'm concerned. There are no mistakes, coffee drinks are never watered down or "flat." The staff is on point and the store is always organized. I wish the Pete's that is closer to me was as good as this store; however, it is far from being on par; thus, I usually wait until I can hit this location. I was craving some coffee as a pick me up and Peet's is walking distance to my office. I normally go to Starbucks but since I was gifted a Peet's gift card I might as well use it. Normally at Starbucks, I order a frapp, which is the equivalent of a javiva here. I enjoyed my caramel javiva, it isn't as sweet as Starbucks makes it and theres a decent coffee flavor. I wish it was more icy though, I don't like my drinks watery and melted before I even get through half way. Apparently, if you reload a certain amount, you get a discount. I could be wrong, but don't be afraid to ask the cashiers! They're super friendly. read more
