I was craving some coffee as a pick me up and Peet's is walking distance to my office. I normally go to Starbucks but since I was gifted a Peet's gift card I might as well use it. Normally at Starbucks, I order a frapp, which is the equivalent of a javiva here. I enjoyed my caramel javiva, it isn't as sweet as Starbucks makes it and theres a decent coffee flavor. I wish it was more icy though, I don't like my drinks watery and melted before I even get through half way. Apparently, if you reload a certain amount, you get a discount. I could be wrong, but don't be afraid to ask the cashiers! They're super friendly. read more

Nice Peet's location located inside a plaza with Whole Foods. I drove in through the back side where you can find street parking (parking situation is a little odd), but there is a regular parking lot in front of the store. A lot of folks who come in just grab and go. There are a couple tables and seats int he back; you can't see it from the front as you have to walk down a narrow hallway. This one star is for the one shot of espresso you gave me for a small latte. In every Peet's that I've gone to, its always been 2 shots. I even asked if you if that was correct and you said it was. I looked it up online after cause i was confused and it says both a small and medium latte have two shots. One of my least favorite Peet's, largely because there aren't many tables and there is no cafe vibe as a result. The coffee's fine and it's a normal Peet's in all other respects, but -- once you order your coffee, there's basically a long narrow aisle along which you can sit which leads into a small room with a few tables which leads into another aisle. I need to preface this review accordingly. I am a coffee snob. I'm the guy who buys super expensive coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters in Portland, grinds it just before it's time to get busy, uses the one cup "pot" at his desk and makes the rest of these chumps drool. That being said, I can't always go through that meticulous process so once in a great while I find myself at a coffee shop and as an anti Starbucks guy, I give Peet's some love. These guys are pretty cool, the coffee (when fresh) is nice and strong and they are rather friendly. Friendliness is a lost are in our society, so when I do find it, I like to stare in amazement and give credit when it's due. I've never stepped foot inside a Peet's until this one, and have been quite regularly after my Gold's Gym workout. This place is popular and very crowded after 9 am when people need their fix to get motivated to do any work, or get something to sip during the ride in. I must say that their baked goods offering, even if sourced to an outside vendor, is freshly baked/delivered every morning, unlike some of the stale dough byproducts you get at other coffee places. That stale, dry, and aged banana nut bread is flavorful and fresh tasting at this Peet's. Strong coffee, a bit acidic tasting, but that's how most folks like it. I'm lucky they haven't screwed up my orders yet. read more

Came to Peet's yesterday with my family. It's in such a convenient location for those with electric cars - there are super chargers right in the parking lot and you can drop by Peet's to grab a coffee and snack while your car is charging. I'm not a coffee drinker (yet), but I'm big on tea. This Peet's probably makes the best chai latte I've had in a while - it's suuuuper creamy and just the right balance of sweet and spicy:) Also, their coconut solstice iced tea is insane!!! It's definitely a must try. It's kind of like a tropical twist on Thai iced tea. Anyway, I give this place 4 out of 5 stars because their drinks are pretty good overall, and the location is great. read more

Darren and Oscar Rachel karla etc.. are just killing it in the morning. it's worth the wait if you have the time. But to me it really is the night where this location shines the most. Drake's vibe is perfect for the night shift and his espresso tonite (flat white/almond miik in a glass cup) is the best I have ever had. It reminds me of my youth when I studied abroad in Italy. and i havent been reminded of that for a long time. his espresso was that good tonite. Taylor is funny when she's tired she makes me laugh even more. She reminds me of what it means to be human. It goes a long way, even more than the coffee. AND the layout of this location is SO unique. the register is separated from the seating area which means the noise/distraction level from the line at the register and people waiting pacing around for their drinks is limited. Ok so this Peet's location is really a little bit better than the one near my work. its subtle but those are the things that make it better for me. plus its actually more convenient on certain days of my commute and it is closer to where i live and get food. certain things will always be the best in burlingame but this Peets really is good! read more

This location and the one on 3rd is my go to Peets. I go to this one because it's the one closest to me. Thank God for online ordering right? Not at this location. I came exactly when my drink was supposed to be done. Upon arrival, with maybe 3 or 4 people standing in the front area, I see 4 to 5 employees in the barista area. No greeting whatsoever. All of them seemed miserable. I had to yell at one of the employees to get his attention because everyone seems to avoid eye contact there. It's like it's a burden to deal with customers. Jonathan, who is also the cashier, avoided my question when asked to see if my order was ready. Instead of making any effort to look, he ignored me amd acted like I wasn't there. I had to go the only person there that was actually working which was the lady barista making the drinks. Came in over the weekend to grab a coffee and something from the baked goods case. Coffee was the regular. The pastry was extremely stale and terrible. When I went back to the counter to let the employee know he said, "oh let me heat it up for you". Umm what?! Wow Peet's, way to go. After being asked to contact customer service, I did. A week ago. No response. Indicative of how the service in the stores trickles down from the top. Update: I was contacted by customer service via e-mail but didn't understand the resolution. Thank you for being open and working during this time first for foremost!! This location is doing mobile orders and you can order at the front door. My experience today was "okay". Drinks are good. As a PSA.... all mobile orders are now picked up at the back the door. It's was very confusing as I didn't see any signage. Parking at this location is challenging. If you want to order your drink at the store you due so at the front door. Employees were not very customer service friendly as far wanting to you help with confusion of where to pick up your drink. Came here on a weekday around 11am because I needed to kill some time before a meeting. There was no line and my order came out really quickly. The pumpkin bread loaf slice that I ordered was moist and tasted good. The Mango Sunrise (iced tea infusion) was surprisingly tasty. A bit sweeter towards the bottom of the cup because it wasn't mixed properly, but overall, would definitely order again. I highly recommend this drink if you like lemonade teas like me, and love mango. Overall, I would come back again if I was ever in the area. Would not recommend this place if you're looking for any kind of iced drink. Idk if they make it wrong everytime I order something or if the ingredients are bad. The customer service is never good. I would not recommend coming here if you didn't order online. The workers will let you wait for 10 minutes while they play catch up with the orders and talk amongst each other. My husband laughs at me for my yelp addiction, though he has no quibble with the many finds we have discovered through the help of yelp. His biggest laugh, though, is when I yelp coffee shops. He says that there is nothing to be gained by writing about a five-minute experience. Not so, I say. For example, about this Peet's, I can comment that: 1. the baristas were fast and friendly. 2. the Americanos were quickly made and smooth, even though they were decaf. 3. there was ample seating. 4. the selection of french presses was larger than at most Peet's. 5. the clientele included an adorable Asian girl about four years old who looked like she stepped out of the most upscale kids' catalogue (not like my kids who currently look like they need haircuts). 6. the parking lot has ample parking, though it shares its lot with Whole Foods. Stopping off to do some work after a customer meeting, I found I was not alone. The place was packed to the gills with other remote workers and business folk on impromptu off-sites. While a big fan of Peet's in general, I'm not a big fan of the layout at this one. Seating area is around the corner from the serving area and only has tables and a counter against the window: no comfy chairs. I probably shouldn't complain about the lack of comfortable seating, having come to do some work myself. Yes, I'm guilty of subscribing to the old Groucho Marx adage, "I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members.." Two stars for delicious coffee--I always get their blended Freddo drink. Minus 3 stars because I always bring in my own tumbler out of concern for the environment. I told them I had my own cup, and the cashier took it from me and put it behind the counter after she rang me up. However, the guy making the drink automatically poured the blended Freddo when it was done into a regular plastic cup. I politely reminded the cashier that I had my own cup and the guy then poured it into my tumbler (it was right in front of him!!!) and then THREW AWAY the once-used plastic cup. That kind of defeats the purpose of Peet's selling tumblers....a plastic cup was still wasted. Shame on you, Peet's for not making enough of an effort to decrease your landfill waste. read more

When you write reviews in a row for the same company in different cities they tend to blur together and you end up writing an essay about one thinking of the other... how embarrassing. This Peets has its quirks (as most do...) What bugs me is that when I was on my soy latte kick, I'd ask for it 'warm' which almost every barista here would remember at the last minute. The quick fix would be to add room temp soy milk from the carton which I recollect is a health code no-no. Far be it from me to care, I let them know just to help protect them and met such resistance. Like I offended them. Or I was bullshitting them. I really didn't care but that is annoying, you try to help... and then some guy blabs your shortcomings all over yelp. Don't get me wrong, I like Peets. read more

I grew up a fan of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. We dont really have that in the south bay and you have to trek up to SF if you want in on that action. The thing that I miss? those "blendeds" . I was craving one of those and decided to try an experiment. I got one of the Freddos here with an extra shot to make it "bold". Pleasantly surprised. Ordered two hot cocoa this morning at 11.15am (12/20/18). They called my name so I went up to the counter, saw one cup. Confused, waited a bit, then I said "Erm, I ordered two..." and the very grumpy barista (the guy with beard) snapped back: "Patience!! it's coming!". I mean, it's natural to ask if you don't see the entire order and even then, "oh, coming right up" or "yeah I'm making it right now" would be much friendlier than what he said. You might be having a bad day, or other customers were rude to you but there's no reason to take it out on someone who was simple inquiring about their order. Not coming back again. Few years ago I tried Peet's drip coffee and didn't like it so I continued to get my coffee drinks at Starbucks. Recently I tried Peet's espresso at a friends home and really liked the taste so I decided to change my morning routine and instead of coffee at Starbucks switch to Americano at Peet's. My drinks are always prepared right but there is no friendly customer service and the store is very dirty. There is coffee all over the the walls and everything look dusty and old. The baristas and cashiers are fast but I never feel welcomed there. read more
