** 6 Year Review Update ** This place is still great!! There's ALWAYS a line. It ALWAYS moves quickly. The menu is constantly updated. Great bakery items, additional sandwiches have been added. Terrible. Quality went down so far since this first opened. It's no longer like a true Peet's Coffee, which is wonderful, but like a nasty roadside nondescript coffee place. Horrible pastries and sandwiches provided by the travel center, not Peet's quality. A stale old PB&J was $9.99. They no longer offer soy milk but at least they do have almond milk - though my the latte was horrible and not worth any premium over McDonalds, which I'd never get anyhow. Ick. read more

I felt bad for the workers but I paid almost $9 for a matcha iced latte and it was horrible. The girl mixed green powder with sink water and then poured it on a huge cup of milk, it was just milk and no matcha taste at all. I would've just grinned and bear it but $9 is crazy. I experienced none of the problems other reviewers encountered. The server wasn't exactly all sunshine and light, but she wasn't rude and it wasn't before the sun came up! I had a hot cup of coffee and a Ham and cheese sandwich just because I had felt a little dopey and thought food would perk me up a bit (it did). Chesapeake House Travel Plaza Address: 10670 I-95, Port Deposit, MD 21904 On 11/07/2022 at approx. 2:48 pm My husband stopped at this rest stop just so we could get a Peet's coffee. The girl taking our order seemed high she walked away several times while taking our order saying thinks under her breath. We placed our order and waited for our drinks to be made. My daughter gets her drink right away. I notice that five other people get there drinks before getting mine but they ALL ordered after me and I only ordered a medium hot holiday spice latte. So I ask the girl making coffee where my drink was and she snapped at me and said "It's COMING!" In the mean time my daughter comes up to me and says look at my hands. when I do she is covered in green and wiping her hands off and the napkins are covered in green also. I ask the girl making coffee what they used to write on the cup with because its all over my daughter she has incredible Hulk hands at this point. She say "I don't know but I know its not permanent!" I said "Okay look at her hands she is covered in green maybe you should use permanent marker so people don't get marker all over there clothing!". She continued to escalate the situation by getting louder and saying "go wash your hands its not my problem just wash your hands if you don't like it" I say back "IT is your problem no one wants to be covered in green marker." she yelled at me and said "so go wash your hands if you don't like it" I told her "that was not the point" she then sets my coffee on the counter and says "ma'am just take your fucking coffee and go and have a nice day". I returned a few choice words to her and she continues to tell at the top of her voice profanities while we are walking out of the building like "I can see why your husband divorced you, you fucking bitch!" and she went on but we left. All of this because I asked about green marker all over my daughter. read more

I've never made a review before but the cashier was too rude not to say something. I understand being busy and stressed out by yourself but no need to take it out on customers who have been waiting for 30 minutes to get a coffee. Girl, if you don't like working there and want to give attitude to every customer maybe get a new job? The other cashier left to go to the bathroom and get coffee sleeves leaving the rude girl by herself during a rush. She didn't want to make certain drinks and rolled her eyes while making the drinks she did agree to make. Too bad our coffee tasted awful too, save yourself the 30minute wait! read more

Located at the Chesapeake House rest area this is the only true coffee shop in the place. Sure other places sell coffee but when you're a coffee person, you mind your coffee. The coffee was pretty good. My number one complaint? The coffee was a little too hot. Makes me think of the McDonald's coffee case, I'm sure it wasn't that hot. Any way, the regular coffee is rich and bold with flavors. There are some pastries you may purchase but it is really an afterthought rather than a real effort. The sugar and milk/cream are off to the side (left as you face the counter) and you have to add your own stuff. read more

The Chesapeake House is located almost right in the middle of my parent's house and my apartment in DC so it is the perfect place to stop for gas, coffee, and a walk/bathroom -- if you need it. This Peet's is something I always look forward to when driving back and forth. The people that work here are very nice and they are also accommodating. I've never had an issue with anything and they are always smiling and being helpful. I most of the time get a Caramel Macchiato (sp?) with almond milk. It's $$$ but it's also really good IMHO. I've come here countless times -- many times that I have forgotten to check in via Yelp. But I'll keep coming back and getting that coffee I long for on my car rides. read more

Coffee was disgusting and they were strangely cash only. It's a very unfriendly place with wall eyed employees looking disgruntled.

Someone from Peet's management office should stop by this location to see what kind of operation is carrying their name. At 8am, it was clear that the staff hadn't prepared for the day. The sugar/milk area was gross, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. It also had 10 scattered packets of white sugar and nothing else, not a stir stick in site. Did I mention the coffee was totally burnt? I get this is at a rest stop, and I set my expectations accordingly, and it was just that sad of an experience. My recommendation, there are more rest stops not that far down the road. read more

Saturday 3:30pm: no wait Service: 0.5/5 Ordered a medium drink. Was given a medium cup with small size quantity. When requested for more coffee, got the world's largest eye roll. Then still given a less than medium size quantity. Coffee: 4/5 - it's Peet's. So it's good. read more

Never been to a Peet's coffee before so was excited to give it a try. Price is expensive but that could be because it is located inside a rest area. Ordered a cold brew iced coffee with cream and sugar, they actually don't put any cream in it you put any milk or cream in it yourself. Same for hot coffee they just pour it and you put your milk and sugar in it at the end. Nothing amazing. Was convenient since at the rest stop. I prefer Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee less than half the price and smoother. read more

Nothing special or maybe it was just the place, even though it was ely and it is in a rest-stop the coffee wasn't fresh... which surprises me because it was the only place selling coffee and thought the volume of people would grant fresh coffee... guess not. come here if you want to pay Starbucks prices. I know I would not return. Sometimes I still go to OK places because of the staff being great, but not here. The lady at the cashier is so rude. When I ordered latte with Almond milk, I had to repeat myself multiple times. She kept saying " I don't know what you are talking about". When she finally knew I would want to order latte, she gave me a small one when I ordered a large one. When my sister tried to order a cup of mocha, my sister said "may I tried xxx mocha". The cashier replied rudely saying "no trying". My sister just tried to buy a coffee! What was wrong with that lady? This was not the the right attitude to customers. Hopped off the exit as soon as I seen Peet's Coffee this way I could taste the Havana Cappuccino first time having Peet's was 2 weeks ago in Alexandria, absolutely delicious! Best I've had so far. Well I'm extremely disappointed with this location, I ordered the same drink and you figure it'll taste the same? Absolutely not!
