We stayed in Room 7 of The Peerless Hotel last night (04/17) and we absolutely LOVED it! The keyless entry was quick and awesome, the Hotel is beautiful and historic, and our Room was amazing (clean, pretty, great furnishings, balcony, etc). We also truly appreciate the NONPET Policy. I have severe allergies and it was such a pleasure to not have to worry about breaking into hives and/or throat closing and having to use EpiPen and going to the Hospital (this has happened way more than it should due to severe allergic reaction to Pets). Many people forget that those with Asthma/Allergies are covered/protected under ADA and deserve a safe place to stay without worry of an allergic reaction, so a HUGE THANK YOU to The Peerless Hotel for providing us with a safe place to stay...we will absolutely be back next time we are in town!:-)

My partner and I have stayed at the Peerless twice now, and we have decided this will be our go to hotel when we visit Ashland! Our visits were a couples years apart and so our during our most resent stay we were able to experience the gorgeous new renovations of hotel. We reserved our stay through a third party booking agency and received everything we needed to check in, this is a keyless, self check in type of place, which I do not mind at all. This was an easeful process for us, and we drive a distance so we prefer to settle in without interaction. That being said this property is Absolutely stunning, cozy and the attention to detail is par non. Since our last stay everything has been upgraded especially the common areas. The front entry has a warm and ambient fire place antique furniture and interesting artifacts and images from the past and their resident ghost! Our room, wowwww! we booked room 3, a large three room suite that was very romantic, again ambient lighting, flickering candle lights in several of the antique lamps, welcomed us along with champaign and chocolates on the bed. Details are very important to me, and this is one of the things I appreciated about our stay. Our room had two side by side clawfoot tubs in the spacious bathroom, a sitting room with a fireplace and several areas to sit and enjoy the space. The bed was so comfortable and we both enjoyed a restful three night stay. We also loved the main common area/ sitting room, where they have coffee, tea and water available 24/7, they have a great selection of games which we also enjoyed! There is three parking spots in the rear of the hotel for guest, but we have a large truck so we parked in the front on street parking, where there is plenty of parking for us. The location of the hotel is Ideal in a quiet neighborhood which is a welcome change from our city life! We did a lot of exploring in downtown and the neighborhood which are full of beautiful homes, local dear and squirrels! Lastly, it is worth mentioning the staircase to get to the upstairs rooms is small, but there is a straight away staircase on the right hand side of the building that takes you directly to the second floor and is much navigating with luggage. You will have to check in through the front or back door and then open it from the inside.

This was absolutely the most unique hotel I have ever stayed in. Has a very old vibe to it, however very elegant. The classical music while soaking in the tub was very romantic and perfect to my taste. I honestly could see myself living here. The room we stayed in (room 2) was beautiful to say the least. It was also very clean. The bed was really comfy. Aside from all that, the gentlemen at the front desk was kind and lovely. I highly recommend staying here and cannot way for my next visit.

This is a great hotel for a once in a lifetime experience. We stayed in room #5 which is on the 2nd floor. No elevators here. Stairway is steep but we had no problems even after a few drinks at the restaurant next door. Kudos to the staff for leaving excellent relaxing music on for our arrival. We arrived after the front desk closed but had no issues getting checked in. This is an older building so you can hear noise through the walls but we didn't mind at all. Highly recommend for travelers wanting a unique experience or just bored of the typical hotel room experience.

I just spent a weekend in Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and I stayed at this awesome Bed and Breakfast. Ashland is one of those impossibly quaint towns and the Peerless B&B is the perfect quaint place to stay. It is located in a building that used to be an old railroad workers dormitory, but it got revamped some years ago and is now one of the best B&B's I have ever been to. The decor is perfect. It is really tacky but in that awesome B&B way that you would never want in your own home but for some reason really works in a place you are going to stay for a night. Plus, the room I stayed in had twin claw foot tubs! How freakin cool is that? The people who work there are lovely, and it is well situated near the downtown strip. And it is rumored to be haunted! We stayed in the room where the ghost is supposed to be the most active, but so far nothing. A little disappointed, but hey, ghosts aren't there for our amusement. I can only hope one will show up in the next hour I am here. The other great thing about this place is that in addition to trying to be eco-friendly in the same way all hotels do (asking you to reuse your towels and bedsheets and having low flow toilets etc.) they are powered by 100% wind power they buy from an Oregon based wind farm. If you make it to Ashland (and i definitely recommend that you do, this place rocks, as does the Shakespeare Festival) then i would recommend this B&B in a minute.

And we've stayed in various places before, including one night with our son, as guests in his room. But, we're staying here, because he & his family, are staying here, for a meeting, so we decided as a family to gather together in Ashland for hubby's Diamond Year! We're staying for 3 nights, including breakfast. I should rate this hotel 3 stars, for the following reasons: 1. The minute we walked in, I noticed how small the room was! How small? You ask. When you bend down, to rinse your mouth, & spit on the sink, your butt hits the wall. 2. You hold the flusher for the toilet, about 15 seconds, for totally flush down. 3. Cleaning lady, opened our room, without knocking, after 8:00am. She probably thought we're downstairs having breakfast! She wasn't supposed to come clean or make up our bed, for the first 2 days. 4. Peep hole on the door, made for people 6'-7'. I'm 5'2" and it's past my head! 5. Headboard is noisy, when you move. 6. The desk chair creeks! The first time I was alone, and I sat on it, I thought, the room was haunted, or a squirrel was knocking on the roof. I'm not exaggerating! That's what the noise was, I didn't know it was from my chair, until hubby told me about it. 7. You give your breakfast ticket to the lady outside the door, and you take a plate & bowl back inside the room with food. The 2nd day, there was no protein, (bacon, no eggs, or sausage), the children had bread, potatoes, fruit. Hard boiled egg, they don't eat! 8. The juice glass or plastic, is about 3-4 sips, it's so small! If you want more, you have to bring your own container to get large serving, or frequently get up and refill your glass. 9. Breakfast, an additional $5, pay in the lobby. 10. Make up stain on the sheet. I'm giving this a 4 stars, for the following reasons: 1. The lobby, the garden, stained glass, wrought iron impressive! (Took lots of photos) 2. The stairs, & the elevator all conveniently located easy to find & access. Never crowded. 2. The tallest building in Ashland, you don't need a GPS, just look for the tallest building! 3. The 8th floor, (son's family room) they got the corner, is so much larger ours. My 2nd son and us, he's on the 8th floor, and us on the 4th floor, same street view. Our room is the smallest! :( 4. The chair by my bed, was comfortably soft. 5. Love all my pillows, covers, and towels. 6. Friendly staff. 7. Very very clean, including the rooms. 8. Convenient parking. 9. Views beautiful, mountains. 10. Room comfortable temperature. 11. Walking distance, up or down, and we're both old, (not used to walking but we did!) to many of the sights, restaurants, creeks, park, Japanese Garden, Lithium Park. 12. Additional Note from 2nd son #1: It was great that I could charge my car in their parking lot. That's very convenient! Extra Note from 2nd son: he could hear noise from the street, on the 8th floor. I didn't think we could hear anything from the street. Total: But I can't just give a 3 star or a 4 star, so it's really in between!

This was not disclosed during booking, even though we specifically informed them we were traveling with a dog. While pet fees are common, $100/night is frankly predatory. My fiance and I found the bed to be uncomfortable and extremely small. The room listed a queen bed. When my fiance asked if was actually a queen, the hotel staff was rude and dismissive. We finally measured the bed with a measuring tape and found that it was a 53" full bed, not a 60" queen - very difficult for two people to sleep in. The hotel staff refused to acknowledge their error, though they did eventually move us to a vacant room with a larger bed for our last night. However, they also charged me another $72.80 for this pleasure without telling me why. At no point did they apologize or offer any other compensation or offer to waive their unreasonable fees. Beyond this, the rooms were dingy and not what I would expect at this price point. Winchester does make a good (though not amazing) breakfast, but it is not worth dealing with low quality rooms, rude staff and predatory hidden fees.
