My parents went around all day looking and trying to find the best deal for a long lasting fridge. When we go to the store, it was nice and had very impressive selection of fridge. I tagged along as a translator for my parents and when I approached the information booth, one of the salesmen referred us to another man that was sitting in the front. While he greeted us with warmth, he came off very condescending. He was very snappy and aggressively with his response. While having an airpod in his ear, he was rushing us through all the selection. It almost felt like he didn't want to work with us (since he was told by another man to help us) and judging that my parents didn't know anything. As we were walking away, we weren't surprised to see him playing on his phone.

He simply opened the refrigerator door, said the temperature wasn't cool enough, claimed the sealed system needed repair, and suggested that I contact GE directly. During the visit, he spent time talking on his cellphone for personal reasons and then walked back to his car without performing any meaningful inspection or troubleshooting. I felt like I paid $85 for nothing. Later, I had a GE technician come out. He performed an actual diagnosis, found that the condenser area was heavily clogged with dust, and simply advised me to clean it. After cleaning the condenser, the refrigerator has been working properly. The GE technician also only charged the standard service call fee but actually diagnosed and resolved the issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Appliance Guard. I expected a professional diagnosis for the service fee, but instead I felt like I wasted my money.

He said they did not have a replacement dryer and it would take 2 weeks to order one. He offered to contact LG . LG referred us to a repair company MTG who sent a repair person who didn't have a replacement part even though we had sent MTG a photo of the broken part and description. After the repair person left. Two lint filters arrived from LG. I went to Howard's this morning 12/6/2025 and it is closed with a sign on the door that says CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

He spent an hour at my home checking the parts, cleaning the spray arms and voila! The dishwasher cleaned great in my test run that evening. (He gave a very reasonable estimate for parts and labor -- should the spray arms have needed to be repaired or replaced.) I later discovered the dishes weren't drying 100 percent. He came back the NEXT DAY and checked the heating element. All is running fine. And unbelievable-- no charge because there wasn't anything wrong. Highly recommend you use him! My experience with most appliance people has not been good. It's nice to have one that made up for all the dishonest and incompetent people in the past.

(They did not know the dishwasher was almost brand new) They called to get my authorization to pay, and I declined to have the work done. They stated I need to pay the $69 visit fee only. Later I get a call from Kate, the dispatcher, stating I now need to pay $199 for cleaning fee. However, I stated I never authorized any additional services. They fixed the problem within 15 minutes for the total visit. There were small pieces of plastic there that needed to be cleaned out and the dishwasher is working fine. I guess I didn't need the drain pump to be replaced for $350 after all. When I called to complain, they agreed to take the additional cleaning fee and charge the visit fee only. They subsequently called to apologize and waive my visit fee of $69.
