I cannot speak to any experiences with the ultrasound services. I arrived at 12:30 and stood at the front desk for at least 5 minutes before anyone showed up or acknowledged that I was there. There seemed to only be 1 employee working and she was with another couple for their appointment. The place was clean, well decorated, with soft and calming music in the waiting room. The room where the test was administered was also clean - a couple of chairs, a small table, and a sink. Let's get into my main concerns... The woman that checked me into the front desk also administered my test. She told me to leave my coat in the waiting room while we went to the other room for the test. Overall, this isn't a huge issue for me. I mostly found it strange, as I took my purse with me and could have set my coat with my purse in the test room. To start the test process, she picked up a small plastic/nylon brush from the sink, added antibacterial soap (the kind you could buy at a grocery store), and scrubbed the back of my arm. Once she was done cleaning my arm, she put the brush back in the sink. I got the unsettling feeling that this brush is reused for multiple clients. (this may not be true, but that was how it appeared) She did wear gloves during the test administration. She was chewing gum the entire time she administered my test. I found this to be unprofessional given the environment. This part is my mistake - I did not realize that "Sneak Peek" tests can be purchased by anyone online. I could have purchased the kit myself and completed this whole process myself at home. If you are only coming for this service, save a bit of money here. Overall, I found the appointment left me feeling "off" and a bit uncomfortable. Everything seemed uncertain and slightly unprofessional.

She came to our home for the appointment which was so convenient and made it so much more of an amazing experience to be able to do it at the comfort of your own home with your family. Rita was very sweet and gave us a USB with so many pictures! She really took her time and walked us through everything we were seeing and we even got to hear the heartbeat again which we were able to record and put inside of a stuffed animal for keepsake. Of course,…read moreI was a bit fearful, last time the tech squeezed the living lights out of me, I was tearing up so I had pumped myself up. I mentioned this to the new tech, and she was shocked at how painful it was for me. She said it isn't normal for it to hurt. Fun fact, I did not know caffeine will make your breast tissue sensitive, so avoid it the day of the procedure. After a lively and informative chat, she showed me how the machine actually works and that it's not meant to cause pain. Her name was Carrie and she was a godsend. This time it didn't hurt at all. I left more knowledgeable and empowered.

This is a lifesaving breast imagery center in the lower level of the professional medical building…read morebehind Ascension Providence Hospital on Nine Mile Road. They specialize in mammography, breast ultrasound, bone density and breast biopsy. I have been receiving my annual mammograms at this location for many years. It use to be located on the 1st floor but now it is located on the lower level. You can access this suite my a bank of elevators or the stairs. This location has free parking or valet parking with a cost. My office experience has always been professional. They have handled my care with sensitivity and compassion. Their entire staff are pleasant from check-in, to the techs and the doctors performing biopsies. I am happy to say that they are thorough and were able to diagnose my cancer in a very early stage before any lumps or symptoms were found by comparing current mammograms to past mammograms. I'm grateful for this practice for saving my life with early detection. I highly recommend this location on the Southfield Campus for all breast imaging needs.

I wonder if my review will even make the cut? Family Life Services is one of the most uplifting places I can think of. The staff are always genuinely smiling and making encouraging remarks. They are down-to-earth and non-judgmental. Their commitment to serving women in the community is admirable. The volunteers help clients carry items to their cars. I definitely recommend Family Life Services to anyone who wants to find a community of supportive women. This place was great. They discussed all my options with me and were very loving and non judgemental. I would recommend them to anyone looking for support, free pregnancy tests, an ultrasound or information about abortion, adoption and all of your options. I've debated on sharing this, but I feel that I should. I had good experiences with this…read moreorganization prior to this, but after my last ultrasound I was left feeling extremely used and violated. Let me start by saying I was probably about 12 weeks pregnant after a very traumatic miscarriage. They knew this. Instead of the normal tech doing the ultrasound, 6 women I had never seen before walked in and 1 by 1, they started practicing on me. I was never once asked for consent to be trained on, and it was clear that they had NEVER done this before. One woman pushed on my stomach so hard for 20+ minutes continuously without letting up pressure even after the other ones told her she could "let up" between photos. These ultrasounds usually take 15-20 minutes tops.... After the 1 hour mark I heard them say "The next girl didn't show, so we can keep going on her", AGAIN without consulting me as to whether this would be okay or not. After over 1.5hrs, with no end in sight, I finally gathered up the courage to say I wanted to leave. I had contractions and bleeding in the days following. I was so scared, I cried for days. The pregnancy pulled through, but as I said, I felt extremely violated and used. They should have asked me if it was okay to train on me first, and given timeframe on how long they would "use" me for. I will also add, if you are looking for an abortion, do not go here. They are an extremely pro-life facility and will try to convince you by any means NOT to have an abortion.
