I am leaving this review because both times I seen the Dr. I waited for over an hour each time. She prescribed medication for HRT that I never received because the pharmacist needed a prior authorization. He reached out to her office several times and could not reach anyone. I had another medication sent to a different pharmacy and they needed clarification on the medication and was never able to reach anyone in the office. My insurance co. also tried to reach them, and no one ever answers the phone. This was 4 weeks ago and I still never go my medications. No one returns my calls. I left a message with the Office Manager and no one returns my calls. I have found another doctor. This place is terrible. read more

If I could give Dr. Jamil 10 stars I would. I've seen her for a few years now for my annual check ups and for the birth of my first child. From the beginning, I knew I would be in good hands. Dr. Jamil is extremely proactive, informative, and always personable. She is a doctor who truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond to ensure that they are well cared for. When I let her know that my husband and I were trying to have a child for a few months, instead of waiting and dismissing me like most doctors would being that I was 32 at the time, she decided to take a closer look and found that I had a large cyst on my left ovary. Dr. Jamil recommended that I remove it as it was quite large and then continue trying. I followed her advice, she skillfully removed the cyst with no complications, and I recovered in no time. When we finally received the news that I was expecting, Dr. Jamil was thrilled. I could see the passion and excitement in her eyes as she knew we had been trying for a while and that she would be the one to bring our child safely into this world. After the monthly, bimonthly, and weekly appointments, my water broke and our baby was on the way. Since this was my first child and I had the epidural, I labored for 27 hours with Dr. Jamil checking on me throughout the day. When it was finally time, she rushed to the hospital and in one hour and 15 minutes our son was born. While I was pushing, Dr. Jamil coached me, encouraged me, and cared for me far beyond my expectations. Hence to say, my labor and delivery was more peaceful and calm than I could have ever imagined. I could not have asked for a better doctor. Needless to say, I was crushed when I found out that Dr. Jamil was moving back to Michigan. Although I am so happy for her and am glad that she is putting her family first, I will miss her tremendously as she played such a critical role in my journey to motherhood and for that I will be forever grateful. read more

Wow!!!! Where do I begin? Making Dr. Sawsan Jamil my doctor was legitimately the best decision I have ever made. Not only is she knowledgeable and well educated but she also truly has a heart of gold and goes OVER AND BEYOND for her patients. Dr. Jamil has been my go to person for all my medical questions, concerns, and issues and has always been willing and available to help. I was lucky enough to have my children under her care and truly count my blessings for that. She was able to make the unknown of pregnancy and deliveries a positive and safe experience for all. Since Dr. Jamil will be locating, I will unfortunately have to find a new Gyno/OB. The next doctor will have a very hard time trying to fill her shoes. Dr Jamil is the absolute very best doctor that I have ever come across... and I mean EVER! I feel blessed to have had her as my surgeon, because she was so thorough, informative, patient, and caring. I had a myomectomy and was in the hospital for three days. Going into surgery we thought I had only four fibroids since that's all that showed in my ultrasound. It ended up being 23 fibroids, and a much longer surgery then first planed. I can not thank Dr. Jamil enough for making a very stressful time in my life, as pleasant as possible. She even managed to put my mom in ease at the hospital as I was in recovery. What makes Dr. Jamil different, is that you can feel her sincereness. Not only does she have the best bedside manner, but also the purest heart. Even when I've just come in to her office for my annual, her kindness and thoroughness never fails! It makes me so sad that Dr. Jamil is moving out of state, since from the day I met her I knew there was no one else I would rather have deliver my child when that moment comes. We never felt rushed at our appointments and was available via phone for ANY question I had. She even told me she would rather I call her to run a nail polish brand by her than look online! We visited Dr. Jamil's office for my wife's annual checkup, she was very friendly, professional. my wife was concerned about too many things, she quickly comforted her, ordered labs, and made her feel much better. The staff is very good at following up. I see some bad reviews about co-pay and charges, I think these reviews must be geared toward how professional the doctor is, not how his staff bills insurance. you don't want to have a doctor who is very good at billing the insurance or collecting co-pays but can't do his job properly. although, we personally did not have any issue with that, because we know how our insurance works. she responds to paging pretty quickly, when we needed her urgent advice, she responded in less than 30 minutes. can't recommend this doctor enough. read more

I can say this definitively because even though she came highly recommended from a family member, my wife and I met with several Doctors before landing on Dr. Jamil. Dr. Jamil is great, their billing department is not. My annual check up was miscoded and they ended up charging me a co-pay. The billing person never picked up the phone and did not call back after leaving a message. Luckily the front desk people were more helpful in pushing it along, but this is standard and should not have happened in the first place. Given this isn't the only complaint about their billing, I would proceed with caution (aka I would see the doctor since she is great, but keep an eye on your bill). read more

I consider Dr Jamil my fairy godmother and I'm going to miss her so dearly when she leaves Los Angeles. So much so that I never want to fall pregnant again as I can't imagine anyone else helping me on the journey from inception to postnatal care! Dr Jamil has been my savior during the three most challenging physical moments of my life, when I was also at my most vulnerable. She's been my ob-gyn for about 8 years, having performed surgery on me and also delivered both of my babies, as well as all the usual ob-gyn stuff. I don't know how she did it but she always seemed to drop everything and see me whenever I needed to see her urgently. I always felt like her only patient; she's THAT good at making you feel sincerely cared for. Never have I felt so connected to a medical professional. She's empathetic, sensible and plain speaking, smart, caring and relatable. I also feel like I'm losing a friend in her moving state, which saddens me but I'm excited for her next chapter. I just moved to Santa Monica a few months ago and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for more than a year and a half. I started fertility medication a few months before we moved here and got pregnant but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. The first person I asked to give me a recommendation was Dr. Steven Rad, considering I trusted his opinions very much. Without any hesitation, he referred me over for Dr. Jamil and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made. After one appointment, I felt like I have known both Dr. Jamil and Judy Casanova (the amazing nurse) for years. I am terrified of blood tests, but Judy does them so quickly and I feel no pain at all. If there were more stars allowed, I would give the max!! I am 64 yrs old and Dr. Jamil became my GYN 1 1/2 yrs ago after my previous Dr. retired. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to Dr Jamil for the thoroughly impeccable care she has given me in the short time Ive been under her care. She has overseen care of post menopausal hormone issues - and she's REALLY been in top of it. For such a youthful physician, Ive never felt so tended to. When a hormonal issue (twice) overlapped with my existing chronic Migraine problems, she coordinated with my neurologist and saw me through to full recovery and relief. She was my surgeon for a minor procedure that turned out to be benign. Ive always felt 110% cared for. Dr. Jamil is reassuring, all i's dotted, t's crossed - and never cuts short time necessary to take care of a patient. She's in my Top 4 list of great Dr's. Ive had throughout my life. After bringing our insurance company into the conversation it was determined that we had been overbilled, and our insurance company is taking 'corrective measures' to ensure that this office begins to play by the predetermined rules when it comes to copays/billing/claims. It was only after the insurance intervention did their billing department begin to take my calls, and another 2 months to have the refund issued after it had been acknowledged by all parties that it was due. I have had a medical condition which has required several office visits as well as calling the office often. Every time i have contact with any and all staff they know my name as well as take interest in my health and well-being. They are all so sweet and warm from the appointment desk to the nursing staff. I couldn't say enough about this team. And let me praise that lovely doctor again. Dr. Shukri gives the word "personal" new meaning in the term personal physician. This is my second year going to Plaza Tower for my annual. I saw Dr. Pelino last year who I really liked but she left so I asked the front desk while making my appointment who they would recommend with a great bedside manner and the girl said Dr. Shukri. She was spot on. I saw Dr. Shukri today and I felt immediately at ease and it was as if I was a a patient of hers for a long time. She was friendly, warm, easy to talk to and didn't make me feel rushed like so many doctors do today. She's like "old school" and you don't find many doctors around like that today. She's most definitely a keeper. I also have to give a shout out to the staff and front office. Fay was so friendly and everyone was incredibly sweet and nice. I just want to start out by saying that I could not have gotten through my delivery without Dr. Sawsan for so many reasons. She delivered my healthy baby girl just a few days ago, and she will be the one to deliver my next baby without a doubt. This was my first pregnancy and I was incredibly frightened about everything associated with pregnancy and childbirth. From the very start Dr. Sawsan was empathetic and always very patient with me. I had a million questions and she was so patient, informative and kind. She was always very present, whenever I had an issue Dr. Sawsan would call me back right away. She was the best pregnancy coach I could ever have hoped for; making sure to constantly check in on me after delivery to ensure I was recovering properly and comfortably.
