I travel all the way from San Diego to go to Pedro's . Ha Ha. Actually I do make it a point to load up on pastries every time I visit my daughter here in Las Vegas, NM. Pedro's Bakery is a very unassuming hole-in-the-wall bakery run by a very friendly small family. Pedro is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico and his wife is Yaqui. The family is very down to earth and passionate about their baked goodies. Everything from the cinnamon pull-apart bread to the fruit filled empanadas is outstanding! Pedro 's has so many yummy treats. I love their turnovers, bear claws, fresh tortillas, cookies, and cakes. We special ordered a pineapple upside down cake and the cake texture was perfect and the topping delicious. It's a lighter textured cake. My husband who dislikes pineapple even loved it. They were so nice and the food is absolutely amazing. I got the Apple turnover and a few other items that are all delicious and fresh and even still warm! We don't get bakery items often and we were just driving through town but I would surely stop here again in the future! It is worth the stop!! read more

Wow. Just wow. The food is phenomenal. All kinds of different pastries sweet breads and treats. I got a cream cheese peach danish that absolutely blew my mind. I also got a raspberry twist which was incredible. All the food was superb. But the service was also fantastic! Pedro and his son Juan are very friendly and knowledgeable, and serve with a smile. Okay, so you have to look through the Dutch door to see the selection. Do not let this stop you! Excellent fresh bake goods. Selection is not always complete...and they frequently sell out, but that tells you something. The cinnamon bread is to die for and makes French toast that is beyond this world. Heaven in a small town. COVID limited the experience since I had to stand at the door but the aroma made the experience more heartbreaking. His selection was very limited at 7:00 so I just got a couple of carrot cake muffins - the GREATEST. They had real chunks of carrots and the consistency was perfect (most muffins are too sticky-more on your fingers than in your mouth. I hope to return to enjoy the full rapture when COVID is over. Great little bakery. Nothing fancy about the inside at all but the baked goods are fantastic. We bought a peach turnover (the pastry was just right), pecan cinnamon roll (great caramel and not overly sweet with just the right amount of cinnamon), the cream cheese danish (just as good as the other reviews said), and other assorted goodies. The cakes also looked great but couldn't get them this time when traveling through. And the owner's son manning the front counter will fully explain everything that goes into any of the baked goods, and will talk you into trying most of them!! All in a very good way! read more

Stopped here after reading positive yelp reviews and Pedro didn't disappoint. We travel all over the country and this is one of the most delicious freshest friendliest little bakeries we have come upon. We had the carrot muffin and raspberry filled empanadas, still warm and fresh out of the oven. Both were so delicious we wish we had two stomachs. We usually pass up Las Vegas and eat in Trinidad but from now on we will stop here instead! And Pedro is so nice enthusiastic and informative it is a real joy to support his business. read more

Amazing pastries!!! Stopped here on our way from Texas from Colorado and we were not disappointed. The pastries were being freshly made in the back and the shop smelled amazing! The people were super nice and helpful. The young man on the register was very patient in explaining all of their pastries and their fillings. He even told us how they got their business started. This place is amazing, not just the service but the actual product. They were freshly made and still warm when we ate them. We will definitely be stopping here again in the future. read more

I was recommended to go to Pedro's Bakery , by the guy in the Plaza Hotel where I stopped for a coffee, and am so glad I took his advice! Pedro's Pastries are AMAZING!!!! They are truly the most delicious pastries I have eaten, and his many decades of working previously for a German baker is apparent. In addition, his prices are incredible!
