My 8 month old daughter has been running a fever every single day since Friday, June 20th. Initially, I assumed it was teething, but by Sunday afternoon her fever climbed to 102.6. She was still eating and had wet diapers, so I planned to call Monday if the fever continued, which it did. The office got us in quickly Monday, which I appreciated. They tested her for flu, COVID, and even considered measles since we had just traveled. We were told everything looked fine and to call back Tuesday if the fever returned. Sure enough, it did. They saw her again and collected a urine sample and told us they'll call once they have the results. By Wednesday, I was really concerned. My baby was still having daily fevers and now had very foul-smelling urine, which can be a sign of a UTI. That can become dangerous quickly in infants. I called twice that day asking to speak with a doctor. I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. Today, just before the office closed, I finally got a call. I was informed there were still no results and that it could take up to five days. That was the first time anyone had communicated that timeline. I asked why no doctor ever called me back like I requested, and was told there was "no record" of my calls at all from yesterday. (See screenshot) To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to a doctor today, I was told my concern wasn't considered urgent. My 8-month-old has had a fever for a full week and now shows signs of a UTI. If that isn't urgent, I honestly don't know what is. I am beyond disgusted with the lack of communication, the dismissiveness, and the complete failure to follow through. This isn't just frustrating. It's negligent. We will miss Dr. Lersch, but I refuse to trust my daughter's care to a practice that treats concerned parents like this. She deserves better. Every child does. Doctors are fabulous here but I don't trust the receptionists to communicate with the doctors. read more

I brought my children here to establish care when we moved to Phoenix from out of state. My brother and sister in law bring my nephew here and had nothing but good things to say. Our first visit was great, and we LOVE Dr LeCoco. However, our second visit resulted in a billing issue and further escalated to complete incompetence and condescending responses from office staff. Their entire office staff should be fired for the way they spoke to me as I tried to get answers regarding insurance. I take my daughter to Dr. Kelly and am very pleased with her and this entire office. Dr. Kelly is very knowledgable and professional and is also always on time for appointments. This is one of the only doctors offices I have been to where I never have to wait more than 5 minutes! Their late night answering service was absolutely horrible to deal with. Our toddler had a 104.3 fever for several hours and was also exhibiting chills, diarrea, etc, and for 3 hours, we couldn't get their on call doctor/ nurse to call us back. We eventually gave up. Just warning other parents to not rely on this service they offer. I'd love to change providers based on this experience and will be talking to my wife about it. Love Dr. Lersch! He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. It's hard to find a great doctor especially a great pediatrician and I feel so thankful to have found this doctor for our newborn son. We almost began care with a pediatrician a lot closer to us but we will make the commute to see Dr. Lersch and continue care with him. Dr. Lersch addressed all of our questions and concerns (as newborn parents we are of course worried and had tons of questions). Losing Dr Kelly was a HUGE loss. They should have done whatever they could to keep her. The rest of the doctors are good as well, but giving this three stars for two reasons - 1) they really need updated technology. I needed a last minute sick child appointment for my little ones today and they were able to fit me in. We saw Pam and I'm so glad-she was able to see right away that one of children was asthmatic and it was triggering his cold. She was quick and intuitive to come up with solutions. I'm really glad she is who we saw and her helpful diagnosis. She got us on a fast track treatment plan and I'm really thankful. All the while being kind and patient with my children. read more

Went in for an office visit . I thought I had insurance and had no idea I didn't bcs they backdated. I went in for service shots and they billed me insurance prices . I have been paying one of the bills but then I realize the prices I was paying for were not for regular non insurance . I asked to get that fixed and Mayra from billing said ." The doctor already paid for those so if the insurance doesn't cover them you have to at that price ." I asked if the calls were monitored she said yes . Then I asked for an optimized receipt and company policy and she said I had to go sign medical released papers bcs it's privacy . I told her why? It's my own bill and company policy that's what they are telling me it's the rule . And she said she didn't want to speak to me anymore and if I don't sign medical release form they can't give me the company policy or my optimized bill? I just told her I will be getting a lawyer . They sent me to collections she advices since I wasn't paying them . read more

UPDATE: The front desk has made a complete 180 since what I attribute to be their reading of this review. They now consistently say "good morning" and greet you with pleasantries and a smile. They even go so far as to ask the routine "how are you today?" I appreciate the changes they have made and finally the front desk interactions are matching those of the doctors. They were both very attentive and informative during the many visits we had between the two. THE STAFF IS CONSISTENTLY NASTY, RUDE AND OVERALL UNPLEASANT. They don't smile, they have a stale presence about they and seemingly want everyone to be as miserable as they appear to be judging by how they treat their patients. If your family has ANY medical issues even remotely outside the ordinary, or if you value good communication and service from a doctor's front office -- go elsewhere. My daughter had a broken bone caused by a vitamin D deficiency. Her orthopedist asked her pediatrician to monitor her vitamin levels. As soon as her levels hit the minimum, Dr Day told us to stop supplementation. The orthopedist was horrified. He ordered additional supplementation and tests to ensure her levels got up to midrange. He said if we had stopped where Dr Day told us to, our daughter would have continued to break bones, because a "minimum" level is literally that -- the minimum necessary for life -- and not sufficient to address the problems she was experiencing. On top of this, the billing and customer service departments are horrible. At our last visit, the clerk told us we were "all set" and "owed nothing." They then sent my daughter's account to collections for a bill from that visit! I only found out when I called to make another appointment for her and was told my daughter had been dismissed from their practice for lack of payment! The woman I spoke to about it was brusque and dismissive, and had no explanation for the lack of communication other than saying they had sent letters and made calls (none of which I received). Dr Leonard has been our pediatrician for all 3 kiddos for the last 13 years. He is amazing! I didn't realize I had never left a review before ?! The office just moved to a new location and it's gorgeous. More exam rooms , bigger hallways and nurse stations ,and a much bigger waiting room. Even though we live an hour away we will continue to come here until the kids age out at 18. I appreciate the time and care Dr Leonard pours into our family. Dr. Padrez is my sons PCP, and he is absolutely amazing. Friendly, on top of everything with his health, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I completely trust him with my sons health. I never feel rushed, which is a plus for me. He is very patient, gentle, and almost playful with my little one, which is important in a pediatrician. The nurses are great also, I haven't found one I'm not a fan of. Many times for a sick call, I can see him. We've also seen a couple other doctors, and the nurse practitioner and they are also fabulous. The environment is clean, spacious, well organized. The rooms are painted very cute, each has a different theme. The office staff isn't the most personable (considering they are working in an office with children) but I can get past that. read more

It first started with the front office staff. The woman on the phone was rude when we called to schedule our initial appointment and again at check out. The woman on the phone gave opposite instruction than what the check out woman did. Creating confusion and frustration for me and my husband. We then saw Dr. La Coco for our newborn visit. We told her hold our baby would scream any time we tried to lay her down and would cry for hours at a time. She had been that way since the night she was born. We would have to switch off holding her upright in our arms all night and day. She told us that is was normal and her son was the same way. She told us to swaddle her, use a sound machine, and listen to Taking Cara Babies. We told her we were doing all of that already. She just brushed it off and told us to keep trying, most likely thinking it is because we are first time parents. But we had 3 family members stay with us to help, all told us something wasn't right. We came back a second time and met with Dr. Day. We told her everything noted above as well as now our baby would fuss at the breast, refuse a bottle, choke, and grimace when she spit up. She told us she thought it was a food allergy and to cut out dairy and she would do a stool test. I asked her about reflux. She told us "every baby has reflux" and "medicine won't stop the spitting up". I wasn't concerned about the spit up ... it was the obvious pain and inconsolable crying for hours. Still, we were sent on our way with nothing. The medical assistant called and told us our stool test was normal and to "follow reflux protocol as Dr. day discussed". Dr. Day did not discuss reflux protocol, because if she did we would have told her we were already doing it for weeks. Instead she told us "all babies have reflux". I finally decided to go else where. We were seen by a Phoenix Children's Primary Care. The doctor there listened and validated our concerns. My daughter left with 2 medications for reflux. Three days after being on the medicine she stopped screaming and crying in pain for hours everyday and slept laying down for the first time ever! A 3 hours stretch even. She is smiling and so much happier. My poor baby had to suffer for 6 weeks before someone listened to us. I didn't tell either of the doctors at Pediatric Associates I am a physician assistant with medical training, maybe then they would have listened better. Overall, avoid this office. If you feel something is wrong speak up for your child and find someone who will listen. read more

Today we saw the Np Mary and we had a horrible visit. I don't always wear a mask but I wanted to today because I've been coughing and my daughter has and my son is well but I had to bring him to a sick visit and I really don't want him sick too. The first thing she tells me and the kids is take off our masks they aren't required anymore so the kids just pull their masks off of course. Then she asks me what I've been doing for my daughter's cough and I tell her cough syrup which was a last resort from her coughs waking her up at night. Mary says, "What you are doing mom is not helping her cough at all." Totally condescending me in front of my kids! Does she need to make me wrong to be right? Then when I politely ask what she recommends for the cough she tells me to wait until she listens to her chest. Well, okay but what is the general recommendation? She tells me to use saline spray and give her an allergy pill which I have been doing so guess I got a couple things right. Then she tells me to use a cool mist humidifier, tsp of honey and Vicks on chest and feet. Okay that was the general info I was looking for. I have been sending my children to Pediatric Associates for the last nine years. Recently they charged me for missing an appointment. I called to cancel my appointment ahead of time but they didn't make note of it and are now trying to charge me for missing an appointment. I am very disappointed at how they are treating me after nine years of being with them. Long story short we paid our fee because that's who we are but after calling multiple times to work things out they lost a customer over $35. read more

First, I want to say that I use to LOVE Pediatric Associates. My mother took me and my 2 sisters here since we were little. I absolutely loved the doctors here as a child. I now have 2 children of my own and it was a no brainer that my children would now go to Pediatric Associates. Dr. Leonard, Pam and Dr. Kelly have always been great with my children. It's unfortunate that Dr. Kelly is no longer at PA.. Recently, I have experienced horrible customer service from the front office staff. They are so rude and condescending. It's pulling teeth to get them to answer a simple question. For example, I called in the morning to make an appointment for my son in the afternoon for them to not actually schedule the appointment? I live 35 minutes away from the doctors office and I use to not mind the commute since it was worth my children getting care from the great doctors there. The doctors are great, but actually getting to the appointment and dealing with the office staff is no longer worth it to me. Reconsider your choice coming here if you do not want to deal with horrible customer service when you call or check-in. The list can go on with the stories of the office staff in the past couple of years. This is my pediatrician and I absolutely love them! I switched from N. Scottsdale Pediatrics because I never saw the same Dr. twice there. It felt more like a clinic and I wanted to establish a trusting relationship with my Pediatrician who would be there consistently for my children. I couldn't be happier. It's not as fancy with flat screen tv's and decor as the N. Scottsdale office, but the care my family has received has been stellar. Pretty much everyone I know goes to them know and I haven't heard anything but positive stories. During flu season, they're open on the weekends! Who does that? I met with Dr Nadia Day and I had such high hopes that she would be our pediatrician for our coming son. She was highly recommended by a family friend and when I went in for the meet and greet to discuss options and preferences, she just was so impersonal and didn't even seem to want me to have options. I asked about alternative vaccine schedule and she just spoke to me like I was an idiot. She said that vaccines are there for a reason and since she's a firm believer in following the CDC schedule she and her practice do not plan to see new patients who are interested in not abiding by the CDC schedule, even if you have alternative schedule. She then have me a quick tour of these are my exam rooms, weight machines and here's the door. My experience with the doctors has been great. Both Dr. Leonard and Dr. Lersch have given my children good care and communicate effectively with me. Doctors get 5 stars. Weekend hours are great, but they do not clearly advertise that there is an additional $65 charge for an after hours appointment. My experience with the staff has not been great. The staff gets 1 star. Customer service has been very, very bad. There also seems to be a big disconnect or severe lack of communication between the doctors and the staff. I've had issues with billing - there are times when the staff can't explain what I'm being charged for. I've also had issues with scheduling - my child was booked for an appointment and when we arrived, I was told that the wrong kind of appointment was booked. They told us we'd have to come back because there wasn't enough time to be treated. When I complained to the staff and office manager, I was essentially told that it was my fault for not booking the right kind of appointment. My defense is that I'm not a doctor (or staff in a doctor's office) so I'm not an expert on what type of appointment to request. Ultimately, they admitted that this was a limitation in the front desk staff's knowledge and said they would correct it. read more

My father-in-law is a pediatrician in another state. We have very high standards when looking for a doctor for our children. And this office has been nothing but amazing. When our first-born was 3 months old, we left another office and traveled across town to go to this office. Dr. Leonard has been our primary pediatrician but we honestly have loved all of the doctors we have encountered in the practice. I would also like to add that our middle child has special needs and we had many complicated issues with which to deal. They are highly educated, and listened to us. We never once felt unsupported.
