The few things that I might have been interested in bidding on, went for more than I expected but it was fun & chaotic for an hour.

One was a comforter that was SUPPOSED to be a Ralph Lauren full/queen size 94 x 96. When I bought it I unzipped the case felt it but didn't take it out. I put it on the shelf in my closet and forgot about until recently when I decided to buy a duvet cover for it so I could use it. To my surprise when I took it out, it was NOT the size that the case said it was. Yes, it was a long time after I bought it. I know though, that even at the time had I brought this to their attention, they would have done nothing because I had asked them before about other items and they were VERY rude and did nothing. I haven't bought anything in a long time and won't ever again. Plus their "fees" are ridiculous.

My husband tried reaching him by phone, leaving messages, with no return phone call. He called the office and they said that they would leave a message for him to call us back. We were ghosted by everyone at Schoolhouse Auctions with no returned phone calls. If our property wasn't a large enough project for them to take on, then the professional thing to do would be to call my husband to say that, instead of ghosting us. We were left with a very poor impression of Schoolhouse Auctions and sadly we will not be able to recommend their business to anyone we meet.

My grandmother passed away in early September of last year. In an effort to liquidate the items of the estate, my family hired BBA to come in and help. They were very well organized & helped to advertise the sale on their website & via Facebook. On the day of the auction, items NOT intended to be sold, were in fact SOLD! A 30 year old grandfather clock that belonged to my mother was sold without her consent, and she was told the proceeds from the sale of the clock would be going into the estate.. not to her directly despite it NOT being apart of the sale. The man in charge, I can't recall his name (Larry maybe?), was as insensitive as they come & couldn't have cared less about the situation. It was clear it was only about the bottom dollar. After everything was said and done, and BBA packed up and left.. we realized we were missing about 6 clothing racks & shelving units on top of a couple of fold-up tables. They straight up STOLE THEM when they left! Several calls later & we are being ignored. I also want to point out that I saw the itemized "list" for the items sold. The listed items themselves hold no description or specific detail of just what was sold. "Lamp", "chair", "vase", etc are all pretty vague answers. WHICH lamp? WHAT chair? WHAT lamp was sold for that price? It seems very shady & evasive. The attorney general has been contacted, as well as the BBB. It is not right that this company takes advantage of people, especially those vulnerable after suffering such a devastating loss. I would 1000% recommend ANYONE else!!

She had a variety of items to sell, including household furniture, collector's items, shop tools and supplies, farm equipment, lawn and garden equipment as well as a car and a pickup. The staff was very helpful during preparation and on auction day. Their professionalism was evident at all stages in the process. I can't imagine the auction having gone any better than it did. We hired Jernigan Auctions and Real Estate, INC in Auburn to conduct an auction at my house on June 2, 2012. After the sale we had many questions and were unable to get answers that were believable so we filed a lawsuit against them in Allen County Civil Court. We proved they deleted merchandise, changed invoices, changed $ amounts, failed to show all items sold, created new invoices, over charged on expenses, used a non-licensed auctioneer. Jernigan also sold boxes of personal photos, brief cases of legal and financial documents. And, after the auction much merchandise which was not part of the auction was missing. On June 24, 2014 the Court handed down a ruling in our favor, the plaintiffs, and against defendants, Jernigan Auctioneers and Real Estate Inc, and Jernigan Real Estate LLC., Auburn, IN. It was 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks before we were paid any money. They still owe us over $14,500.00. Jernigan Auctions and Real Estate INC changed their name to Jernigan Real Estate LLC, now they are using the name of Gallery 326. and changed their bank accounts to 3 different banks all in about 15 months.
