Two stars because I have loved Lowe's in general for years. They were my go-to home project store…read morein Naperville, IL and Indianapolis, IN. I have bought a new kitchen, had a deck and pergola built, new appliances and windows, and a new privacy fence installed, several thousands of dollars over the years. Since working with the Lowe's in South Bend I have had nothing but issues. I ordered a new front door with side lights, $6k. When the installer began putting it in I told him it wasn't what I understood I was getting. The project manager from Lowe's arrived during installation and his first comment was "that isn't the door you wanted." It has been 2 months since it was installed and Lowe's was notified it was wrong, still no resolution. The store said to work with corporate, it was out of their hands to resolve, and corporate said to work with the store. The project manager asked me to pick out another door which I did within the first week following the wrong door being installed. This project manager at Lowe's waited long enough (over a month) to discuss the issue with management that Pella stopped making the door I wanted as a replacement in the size I needed. I keep getting the run around from corporate and the store. Finally, I was offered $500 to keep the door or have the door removed with an undetermined restocking charge, leaving a 6 foot hole in my house until I found another vendor and door. My solution was to get a storm door using the $500 offered along with more money from me. That solution has been hanging out there in Lowe's hell for over a month. I'm sure Lowe's is hoping I will go away...but I'm still here pushing for a resolution. I now understand the project manager is not in the store, not taking calls, and will not return until the end of April. Back to corporate, again. During this mess, I placed a special order for a 2 in 1 washer/dryer. I was called prior to the store receiving the special order and was told the company could not hook-up the machine as ordered because of the Corona virus, understandable, but they could leave it at the front door or in the garage so I could struggle to get it inside and installed by myself or wait until the delivery people could start installing again. I was surprised early last week with a call that the machine was expected the next day. Lowe's wanted to schedule delivery and installation (I questioned the installation several times but was told they would install it) for today Sunday. Apparently, without a call from the store, the delivery and installation has been rescheduled for Wednesday next week. I called to get a time frame for delivery and found this out, the day the delivery was expected. Once my door issue is resolved and the 2 in 1 has been delivered and installed, I will happily go to another retailer for all future projects. Welcome to South Bend Lowe's!

Found another who looked up my item on a portable device . Pointed back in towards the wall and went back to her phone . I went to Menards and asked the first employee I saw , he took me right to what I needed . Asked another employee for tape , she took me right to it ! Customer service, what a concept ! Too bad Lowe's employees don't understand it .

They were not under staffed or rude to you on the phone. If I could give zero stars I would. The people are rude and do not follow up with you. This is a great way to do business. I personally will go out of the way to do business with someone else. The new owners of the South Bend Johnstone Supply are very rude on the phone. When you call they put you on hold right away unless they aren't busy. You don't even have a chance to say anything. How about asking the customer if they needed to be transferred to someone first? I waited over 30 minutes on hold only to have someone come to the phone and ask what I needed help with. I asked to speak to a certain individual that was helping me with something. Instead I got transferred again and had to wait even longer. HOW ABOUT ASKING ME WHO I NEED TO TALK TO BEFORE PUTTING ME ON HOLD WHEN I INITUALLY CALLED. Buyer beware. I would find another supply house to get your parts.

Here is a sample of what you can find in rural king. Also note, i doubt you will find any item cheaper at any other store. -food for any type of animal: dogs, cats, horses, chickens, etc etc etc -trucker hats -automotive fluids and some parts -carhart work clothing -hunting gear like ammunition, deer stands, and clothing -a giant bobber that doubles as a floating cooler -household cleaning items -paint -tools -farm equipment too big to fit in the store so they leave it in the parking lot. Wish I could say what said farm equipment is used for, but I'm a city guy -toys -boots. Both work and cowboy This list could pretty much go on forever. Get your hillbilly ass down to rural king and start shopping!

Anybody who monitors credit rating will tell you I have exceptional credit rating. I'm 65 and have never been denied a credit card. My purpose for the card was convenience only because I shop frequently at rural king. Not anymore! There is not one reason that rural king can tell me why I was denied. It's the humiliation factor, plus an addition credit app on my credit report that disgust me. I'm here to warn all consumers, don't waste your time applying for rural king credit card. It will only frustrate you and hurt your credit. I now shop with customer friendly Lowe's, TSC, Home Depot, Amazon and all farm parts online tractor stores. Rural King carries the cheapest grade tractors and equipment. The one and only positive thing I can say about rural king is that they have a limited gun section. Rural King does not offer veteran discounts either. Are you seeing the big picture yet? Harbor Frieght just opened next door which is probably gonna run rural king outta business anyway. Those who shop frequently can also contest that rural king is not organized when running outta stock on commonly purchased items. I believe if rural king was managed better, it would be a desirable place to work. Also, paying a maintenance tech $12/hr is the reason you see lights out, etc... VERY POOR OWNERSHIP MANAGEMENT!
