Two stars because I have loved Lowe's in general for years. They were my go-to home project store in Naperville, IL and Indianapolis, IN. I have bought a new kitchen, had a deck and pergola built, new appliances and windows, and a new privacy fence installed, several thousands of dollars over the years. Since working with the Lowe's in South Bend I have had nothing but issues. I ordered a new front door with side lights, $6k. When the installer began putting it in I told him it wasn't what I understood I was getting. The project manager from Lowe's arrived during installation and his first comment was "that isn't the door you wanted." It has been 2 months since it was installed and Lowe's was notified it was wrong, still no resolution. The store said to work with corporate, it was out of their hands to resolve, and corporate said to work with the store. The project manager asked me to pick out another door which I did within the first week following the wrong door being installed. This project manager at Lowe's waited long enough (over a month) to discuss the issue with management that Pella stopped making the door I wanted as a replacement in the size I needed. I keep getting the run around from corporate and the store. Finally, I was offered $500 to keep the door or have the door removed with an undetermined restocking charge, leaving a 6 foot hole in my house until I found another vendor and door. My solution was to get a storm door using the $500 offered along with more money from me. That solution has been hanging out there in Lowe's hell for over a month. I'm sure Lowe's is hoping I will go away...but I'm still here pushing for a resolution. I now understand the project manager is not in the store, not taking calls, and will not return until the end of April. Back to corporate, again. During this mess, I placed a special order for a 2 in 1 washer/dryer. I was called prior to the store receiving the special order and was told the company could not hook-up the machine as ordered because of the Corona virus, understandable, but they could leave it at the front door or in the garage so I could struggle to get it inside and installed by myself or wait until the delivery people could start installing again. I was surprised early last week with a call that the machine was expected the next day. Lowe's wanted to schedule delivery and installation (I questioned the installation several times but was told they would install it) for today Sunday. Apparently, without a call from the store, the delivery and installation has been rescheduled for Wednesday next week. I called to get a time frame for delivery and found this out, the day the delivery was expected. Once my door issue is resolved and the 2 in 1 has been delivered and installed, I will happily go to another retailer for all future projects. Welcome to South Bend Lowe's! read more

Came to get a thermocouple for my furnace. Walked around trying to find it myself for quite a while . Found an employee who pointed in a general direction and walked away . Found another who looked up my item on a portable device . Pointed back in towards the wall and went back to her phone . I went to Menards and asked the first employee I saw , he took me right to what I needed . Asked another employee for tape , she took me right to it ! Customer service, what a concept ! Too bad Lowe's employees don't understand it . read more

The grill I wanted was available. The instore staff was great!! But the delivery team did not comply to the 3 hour window. I was told due to 3 big installations at 8:30 in the morning. A delivery window could not be given, other than mid morning to aftetnoon. Sad read more

Online delivery scheduled for today, 8am-8pm. I took off work and had people ready at the job site for unloading and to start the project. Finally get a call at 4pm saying they don't have a delivery truck available for another 3 days.. I asked if they could send it to another Lowe's for fulfillment and I got a quick "no there's nothing we can do unless you cancel the order". And of course when you cancel your order, your money takes 3-5 days to get refunded. And apparently asking for a store credit so you can order from another Lowe's is just completely out of the question. Extremely upset on this one Lowe's... good thing there are plenty of other lumber stores to go to instead from now on. read more

Customer service is terrible. Super slow employees. They could care less if you're in a hurry. No one is motivated

Spent $1200 on a new fridge. Asked to have it delivered and was told I'd get a two hour delivery window. Delivery people called and gave me a four hour window (automated message). I called back to ask for a two hour window but of course they never responded. So here I wasted an extra two hours waiting on them and they have not appeared. Very disappointing read more

Would never recommend Lowes for an installation project of any sort. Paid in full for a fence in May of 2021 with guaranteed installation of mid-July and at the time of writing this review in mid-January 2022 half of my fence is sitting on my driveway taking up precious parking space (in my shared driveway) with ice and snow on it. Terrible communication. Inability to ever speak directly with a manager. 5 install dates have come and gone. It took the third party installer coming to my house for the most recent install date to determine that significant materials to complete the job were missing. I have taken multiple days off of work (as an RN during a pandemic), medicated my animals, and spend countless hours on the phone with customer service. I got a number of quotes for my fencing project and ultimately chose to give Lowes my business because they use a local manufacturer (Hengs in Elkhart). I have regretted that decision since summer when my first install window came and went without an update from Lowes whatsoever. I'm a reasonable human, and understand the need for flexibility with install timelines once, maybe even twice. I understand that the manufacturing industry, like every other industry has had staff shortages and delays due to Covid. My concerns and complaints with Lowes go well beyond manufacturing delays and timelines. Lowes has lost my business for life. I have never been so disappointed in a "customer experience" in my life. read more

Literally speechless........only chose one star because none wasn't an option. As an avid plant lover, this store used to be my favorite place to go. It now looks like the entire plant/garden staff must have quit because every single plant, flower or shrub it either dead or soon to be. It's astounding to me the magnitude of waste...when I inquired about the state of the department I was told that "they are doing their best"?! "They water once a day". Breaks my heart to see entire sections of dead plants....is it that hard to water them?!? Wow.....I was also there for paint and other items and walked out. They won't get my business again. read more

I ordered three items for curbside delivery. When I pulled into the spot for it I called the number posted to call several times. No answer. The sign said you could text. I texted no answer. I called the customer service number, no answer. I went inside to go to customer service and there was one employee , five people waitOmg and no one wearing masks, so I left. Since I already paid for the order guess I will have to try another day. read more

I can't believe that I can place an item in my cart at South Bend location and decide to pick up at the Plymouth one just down the road and after I paid and was on my way I started doing the math and come to find out the prices changed when I changed pickup locations. So I went to the service desk and asked and they said it was a different product number. Exactly the same number by the way. 23% mark up and refused to reimburse me the difference even though the huge sign hanging from the ceiling almost right above me says price guarantee. Not like I'm asking to make a competitors price just your own stores price a few miles away. Wow learned my lesson. read more

About a month ago my wife and I went to Lowe's for our upcoming house renovations. The employee who helped us was fine, pretty knowledgable in fact. What bothered us was this other employee, a woman, who was incredibly condescending to the employee. Right in front of us! When we were leaving we asked the girl at the register who that woman was. She said 'she's an ASM', which we later found out meant Assistant Store Manager. It bothered us enough that we didn't return for a while. We went back a few days ago, mainly because neither one of us wanted to make the drive across town to the other Lowe's. Again, the employee was great, answered all our questions, but was clearly in need of help as she was trying to juggle four different customers while repeatedly asking for help over the PA system. Twice we saw a man walk by without stopping to help. Sarcastically I asked, 'I guess he's an ASM', to which she looked up, rolled her eyes and said, yup, you guessed it. He wasn't busy. In fact, at one point he pulled out a phone and made an announcement that the woman needed help. Then he walked away. No hurry. The fact that an assistant store manager would not help one of the employees, who is clearly over her head with customers, while all the while claiming Lowe's is focused on customer service, seriouslyl? That's laughable. To top it off, when we left we heard the woman behind the little podium in front, that says Head Cashier, talk to one of the cashiers like she was an idiot. My wife and I discussed it and we decided to cancel the order we had placed for our home. We just don't feel right supporting a store that appears to promote rudeness into positions of power. The employees we dealt with were awesome, and we assume they both had little power and little pay compared to the others, but they both appeared to have the best work ethic. I only hope someone higher up in the company takes a serious look at what is happening at this store. We decided not to go to the Lowe's across town, either. Instead, we're going to try and do our home renovations through a local business, rather than a big box retailer. Hopefully they know how to treat their employees. read more

The worst customer service I've ever seen at the Lowes in Mishawaka. I ordered a new washer for pickup. I changed my mind and called and cancelled it within a day. They didn't cancel it. Two months later they charge my card for the amount and I receive an email saying thank you for picking up your order. I call looking for answers and she said that they were reviewing orders and just processing orders that haven't been picked up... like what?!?! 1. I cancelled the order and they were incapable of even cancelling it. 2. You're charging people for things they didn't even pick up?!?! Now I'm out that money for 7-10 business days... Please hire competent employees. read more

I needed some help with kitchen tiles for a backsplash. Jason and his colleague in the tiles department were super helpful in choosing grout, mastic, and tiles. What made things especially great was they cut the heavy tiles to size for me. read more

I love going into my local Lowe's Home Improvement store but I'm said to say that they do not have their staff working together. Thought we should give them a try for a remodeling job we had in mind. Meet up with what they call a PSi, which is their fancy name for Project Specialist. Michael Lang is far from a specialist. I have respect in others who claim they know what they are doing. I have a 5 foot shower floor, he ordered me a 4 foot floor base. Everything he ordered for our project was incorrect. Thankful I'm not an idiot and I knew that there were going to be problems in the future with leaks. He planned on placing a 1 foot bench to make up the 1 foot difference. The contractors that Lowe's hired refused to place that in as a shower for me. It has been a week now and I have not heard from Michael, nor anyone else to apologize for the headache that their so called PSi has created. I thought this was going to be an exciting moment to see my final project completed. I'm am so disappointed in Lowe's. Once you HAVE to pay for entire project up front...they could care less about you. On to the next sucker who will be in the same situation as I am. I trusted them and they failed. I have heard wonderful and amazing things about the Plymouth, Indiana Lowe's. Maybe...just maybe I will drive there or head to my sweet ACE Hardwear store from now on. I guess I am to trusting. I ordered a few items online and received everything but one item. So I picked those items up and waited for the last item. They said it would be there 8/2/19 and I called the store on 8/7/19 to see what was going on. I spoke with a lady who did not help me at all. She said they sent it out but the never received it. I asked for a number for the place it was sent from, she could not provide it. I asked if there were any of the same items I stock and there were not. She sat on the phone silently, not offering me any type of solution to my problem. I had to continue the conversation with possible solutions for my own problem. I told her I would figure it out. I found another number from my order confirmation e-mail and called there. The gentleman was very helpful and called the store and found out they had indeed received the package but misplaced it. I understand that things happen but when I call about an issue I expect the person who works there to be more helpful and at least attempt to fix the problem. If she didn't know what to do, she could have asked another employee or a manager. She gave zero effort. read more

I have practically lived in this Lowes during the past month due to a basement remodel. Although most of the time the staff have been pretty slow to offer assistance, tonight Mike H, manager in plumbing, was so helpful and knowledgeable. He was patient and willing to go above and beyond to explain to me the parts I needed. Thanks for making my trip to Lowes that much easier! read more

Went to Lowe's on Ireland on Sunday and I asked for some help with some tile because I was never good with measuring. So I asked a worker there and I asked her how many boxes I needed for a room of 11×12 and she said I needed about 4 boxes and that it was going to be around 96 dollars. Well I went to pay it came to be 138 dollars. Well then they started to say it is per square feet and that there is 2ft in that tile so in reality it was 1.92 per tile. Well for people like me who are not very good in measuring that is a reason I ask WORKERS in the store for help and if they quote you a price then it should be honored especially when you ask them for assistance and that is the answer you get because that is their job. Putting a yellow .96 cent sign on tiles like that throw people off. Especially when sign is high up. If you price something like that price thecwhole damn thing. Instead of putting .96 per square ft because a customer only sees what the yellow sign says. Also train your workers correctly as well and have workers available because I spent 10mins just finding someone to help. read more
