I had an Exam scheduled 2 months in advance. I arrived and was shocked to see en empty building. When I tried calling, the number on file was not in service. With no prior notice this testing center was closed. Such a disappointment as I had taken a day off work for this. Pearson Vue Customer Service kept claiming my test location was in "Cypress, CA" per their records despite the email being sent to me clearly stated "Gardena, CA". They did not acknowledge their mistake. read more

Older receptionist was exceptionally rude, sharp in tone, and would speak in a degrading manner to ALL test takers. Think DMV but way worse mannerisms. It soured my experience from the time I walked in the door. Had I known it would be as bad as I had experienced, I would have went else where. You're not allowed to even look at your phone in the waiting area. You will get scolded in front of everyone. Didn't happen to me but happened to others. You will get scolded for not KNOWING to show your ID and grab a paper with the rules to read-- even though you were not told... you will get in trouble for bringing a Stanley cup. You will get scolded like a child when you come here. It was demeaning and quite frankly, disgusting. The young receptionist and the woman who has a Germanic accent manning the test room are professional, cordial, and personable. Parking: plenty and it's all outdoor parking so no confusing parking garage to navigate Pros: across the street from a Starbucks. Restroom is next to the testing center. Shame on Pearson! This center in Gardena shut down and test takers were moved to a nearby location but hey, don't actually TELL US ahead of time! Let us be surprised on exam day! These exams are mostly employment related. To not notify candidates ahead of time of the venue change is inexcusable and can have serious repercussions on the candidate's employment not to mention they may have to pay additional fees if they cannot be seated due to lateness. After a long hold with Pearson they would not explain, apologize or even take responsibility. Highly unprofessional for an organization of this size. read more

Went here yesterday to take the National Board Certificate for Teachers (NBCT) Adolescent and Young Adult Math (AYA MATH). Test email told me to arrive 30 minutes beforehand. I did 45 minutes. Read all the reviews: YES: 1. Free plentiful parking 2. downstairs courtyard to study 3. testing center is 4th floor, North tower 4. bathroom next door 5. Friendly staff 6. lockers for personal items My testing lab #1 was not super cold nor cold, but comfortable. Provided 3m earbuds was helpful as people are going in and out. I enjoyed my experience. Loud proctors have no respect for test takers. They say me by the swinging door as it was so annoying. Test takers that came for the medical board exam are rude and care only about themselves. One dude kept moving his chair that was prob broken and made LOUD noise the entire time. Half way through my exam they decide to turn off the AC wtf!!? read more

I had a very pleasant experience here. I arrived to take my PHR test. The location was easy to find. The employees were extremely nice and pleasant and helped to ease my test taking anxiety a bit. The check in process is very thorough as they scan your hands multiple times, check your ID and other measurements to make sure you aren't cheating. I didn't have a problem with any of this. The testing room itself was bright, clean and quiet. They also provided ear plugs to drown out what minimal noise was in the room. I am happy to say that I passed my test! I would definitely use this location again should the need arise. read more

Horrible website. I tried contacting them multiple times and was left confused and very angry. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. This was the worst experience I have ever had with online proctoring and i will advise everyone I know for the rest of my life to never invest a single penny with them. Pros 1. Decent amount of parking spaces 2. Clean environment and relatively noise free 3. Clean and close to test room girls bathroom 4. Cafe in the building 5. Clean and nice area for lunch in the first floor Cons 1. STAFF. Rude and at times inexperienced. I took step 1-3 and abim and this place was the worst in terms of staff. I felt like I was treated like an inmate going thru security checks. It does not hurt to add words like PLEASE. 2. Awkward and not effective COVID precaution. Random "6ft" chair arrangement that hinders efficient check in process. I recommend coming little early to check in if you want to start exam on time. 3. No place to rest unless you come down to the first floor. read more

Took my NAPLEX exam here. Location was easy to find, and there is plenty of free parking in the lot. Easy parking is even more essential right before an important exam! After reading reviews for other Pearson testing centers, it looks like other places may charge for parking (for example, Pasadena is $13 for parking). The person at the front desk in the lobby immediately greeted me and told me where to go. The check-in people were courteous, efficient, and friendly. They made sure that everyone knew the rules (which, honestly, everyone should know BEFORE going -- we're all provided with the rules when we sign up for the exam -- but it's good to know that they're very clear). They basically call each person based on the order in which they arrived at the testing center, check IDs, take palm/thumbprints, and a photo. They then provide you with a key to your designated locker. Lockers had enough space to store purses. I didn't know this, so I left my purse in my car and only took my keys and acceptable forms of ID. The computers were decent and easy to use. Nothing lagged during the exam, which I appreciated. They also provided (although this may vary based on your exam): -Ear plugs -Notebook with laminated "pages" for scratchwork with a thin dry erase pen -Basic calculator (you have to ask for it, or use the calculator on the computer) I liked that the testing center was very clean (which is more than I can say for the PSI testing center, which is where I took my CPJE exam). Overall, a place I would recommend for an exam. read more

Not bad for a testing center. Even though it is located right next to a major freeway, there were no noise issues at all. - Pearson Professional Center is in the NORTH tower: 4th floor; located in the same building as University of Phoenix - Parking is free & plentiful (just don't park in the 30 min/reserved spots) - Starbucks is about 3-5 min away if you want to get there earlier & not worry about traffic - No wristwatch or anything in your pockets (they check to make sure your pockets are empty & that you don't have anything hidden in your waistband) while inside the testing room - They provide earplugs (you can't use your own). - Lockers are big enough for a large purse, water, jacket, etc...you can't bring anything with you into the testing room except your ID & locker key - Bathrooms are right next to the testing center suite (405) & require a key from the receptionist Hopefully no more life changing exams in my future, but if I absolutely had to, this testing center would be my 1st pick. read more

I took my NCLEX here back in early December 2016. As anyone taking the NCLEX would know, it's a pretty big deal that may involve the sensation of letting loose some bowel movements. Fortunately, the bathroom is conveniently right next door for those who will have to and the staff at the front desk are extremely nice. Despite the look of terror on my face upon entering the site for my exam, the women kindly greeted me and asked if I wanted to take the exam right now or at my scheduled time (since I arrived early.) I opted to take it asap so I can get it over with. Lockers are provided for you to keep your belongings, but I left everything in my car and brought only with me my keys and license. If you truly are an alumni of any nursing program, it should not be new to you that hoodies, watches, sunglasses, hats, etc. and the likes aren't allowed, so expect that to apply here as well. After checking in (identification verification, hand scan, and signing some papers,) and locking my things away, I had to check in at the entrance of the testing room with the kind woman who had more faith in my testing abilities than I did. You will be in little cubicle-like testing computers and ear plugs will be provided. I believe you will always be monitored by cameras, which is understandable to avoid discrepancy. There is plenty of space in the parking lot, perfect for those who want to park away and cry in the car afterwards feeling free of shame. And for the cherry on top, parking is free so you can cry for as long as you'd like. It is with great pleasure to say I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions (the minimum you can get.) The staff here has eased much of the stress I was feeling and had much encouragement to give to nervous test takers. Thanks guys! read more

For as good as a testing center can be, I suppose this is as good as it gets. I was there for the GMAT, but I know there are a ton of different tests taken at this particular spot. Some good things to know: there is a water cooler in the lobby area, so during breaks and whatnot you can hydrate. There are also lockers for you to put everything else in as you can't take a thing into the testing room. For me, this included a nutri-grain bar which was heaven half way through the test. One of the more important pieces of info is that the restroom is right next to the testing center. All you need to do is grab yourself one of the keys on the desk to get in. Last, a word of caution! Once you hit your break, you have to raise your hand and wait for the staff member to come and escort you out. Then, they will palm scan you, check your i.d., and log you out. Once you have a few moments of sanity and are ready to go back for more, you follow the same palm-i.d.-login-escort procedure. What does this mean for you? Well, if you have let's say an eight minute break, it just got cut down to at most a five minute break. Plan wisely and good luck! read more

So went to take my Nclex exam here. The good thing is that parking is plentiful and free. Also the ladies working the front counter were nice and professional. My poor review stems from a simple fact: This place has one job to do: Deliver a computerized test to those who have registered for it. And they failed to do that. My exam was scheduled for 8am....the majority of those waiting to test were also there for Nclex, but there some there for their Mechanical Engineering exam, CFA. Anyways pretty much everyone was there waiting by 07:30am. At 8:30 none of us had been called in and they finally told us that there was a system issue: on the corporate side there had been a system software upgrade the prior night and now none of the computers were working correctly. Everyone said the same thing: Why would u not come in early and test the systems to make sure the upgrade had worked. Bottom line is some unlucky few people were sent home with an "we are sorry"...the rest of us waited to take our test for and didn't start until systems were fixed at almost 12 noon! Imagine how stressful that was? Just an utter display of incompetence...again, this was from a corporate level, the people who worked there did their best with a tough situation. read more

Took the NCLEX-RN here on a Friday afternoon. Checked out the place in the morning to make sure there was no traffic so that I wouldn't freak out when the time came to take the test. Stayed at a Starbucks across the street to review a few more pages and questions and most importantly, calm my nerves. Subway and other eateries behind Walmart are a short distance away so it's best to take a test in the afternoon so you can eat when they're open. For a place that felt as empty as a foreclosed home on days without test takers, this place is packed full of intense energy as everyone is mute, geared to take their LIFE TEST. 0_0 Oh yeah, apparently they don't allow wrist watches inside so be prepared to leave everything behind in an assigned locker except your driver's license. Shoo... I didn't know and I was even more nervous cuz it was my lucky watch! But thank gawd I passed =P I recommend going there earlier than 30 minutes ahead of time cuz that's when everyone starts coming in, and then you have to wait in line some more. read more

Went to take my NREMT exam today at the Pearson Center. Be sure to go to the South tower fourth floor. ( I went to the north tower in error). However the front office person was able to give great directions and I was able to quickly find my way. I have to say ALL of the personnel were TOP notch at this office. Courteous, professional and kind. They understood all of the customers coming in were under some sort of element of stress.. whether it was the National for nursing, Doctorate,etc. be prepared to bring two forms of ID and you will not be allowed to study or use your cell phone while waiting. They do provide lockers for your personal things. Great job Pearson team. read more

I took my test here and I have to say, their staff is very accommodating. For those of us who get: anxious or nervous; it's such a least a feeling to be greeted and treated with a smile. So I highly recommend this place for any tests you need to take. Their lockers are also big enough for a regular backpack. So don't worry about it. Be prepared to turn in your cellphones. Oh! Just finished taking my PTCB. Location easy to find, especially if you're from the area. Lots of parking. Clean. The ladies at check-in were friendly and made it super easy. Proctor was nice and informational. Work area was clean, no distractions. They offer you earplugs if you think other people's typing/clicking will be bothersome but I was fine without it. For the PTCB they also give you a calculator and erasable "scratch paper" and pen. Directions were clear. Got through the test quickly. Oh, lockers are also provided for your belongings. No testing problems! I'd use this location again if I had to. Good luck test takers! read more

I just took the CBEST there and have no major complaints. The computer system worked well, the testing room was quiet, and the staff seemed to know what they were doing. I do think they went a little overboard on the security (was the strip search really necessary? I kid.), and I get the feeling they pick their locations based on super cheap rent (which equaled a long drive for me no matter which testing site I chose), but all-in-all it was a fine experience. read more

Horrible experience! Arrived with tea in hand at 7:30 AM knowing they restrict drinks inside TESTING area. The waiting room had filthy carpet yet the woman at check in said I had to throw it away. You may not enter with a beverage. No trash can there, bathroom in hallway under repair!! No trash can on floor had to go up a floor to bathroom to dispose of cup. Arrived back at center and was told to take a number ( why wasn't I informed before??) 8:00 AM was my scheduled appointment to take the exam for "NBC" accomplished teachers while I waited with other test takers for plumbing and janitorial exams -who earn more than I do, because who cares about America's future? 8:15- still waiting while clerk talks to maintenance man about repairs. 8:40AM finally checked in hand print etc, sent in to 2nd room to hand print, show pockets and pay myself down. Took the test without breaks so I could get to work ( I took a 1/2 day off) TOO stressful in the morning. GO IN THE afternoon. Reminds me of DMV employees:( read more

Very professional staff and got checked in with no problems for my MPJE exam. Staff explained the directions very clearly and they provide you with a small locker for your purse, small bag or wallet (as you're not allowed anything in your pockets in the exam area). Unlike other testing areas, parking is free and ample. The actual testing office is on the 4th floor of the University of Phoenix building. read more

i took my nclex exam here. very organized quiet and systematic. friendly employees to accomodate you. just present your att and bring your id with you. they initially let you read their policy so i suggest you be therer at least 30 minutes earlier. they ask you to do finger printing and take photo. you also have a locker to store your stuff including cellphones. you can also take earphones with you just in case you get easily distracted with tiny noises and want to concentrate. Right now im trying on a different approach and test taking strategies. but if you already know your basics like abc maslows heirarchy of needs .. the normal values.. the disease process.. drugs.. then i highly recommend you buy PRIORITIZATION, DELEGATION, AND ASSESSMENT by la charity.. i guarantee you it will help you . thats what im focusing on lately and i believe this helps me a lot. i also learn basic strategies in order to asnwer the right one! so hope i make it next time! good luck to myself! read more
