Louis was incredible with writing with our honors classes and I look forward to using him for college essays. Plus, because they cater to so many students, they pretty much know what the expect from all the Manhattan Beach teachers. If your student is struggling with a particular teacher in town, they have a tutor that can help you with that particular class. Over the years, I have used Study Hut, on and off, depending on the teachers from year to year and always found it beneficial. Tutors were very friendly and the kids didn't complain about going. Bonus. There's only a few parking spots at the location, but most people are dropping off their kids. The staff is friendly and professional. They were very accommodating. This location offers a variety of home style study environments. It's $50 an hour which is a bit pricey, but we thought it was worth it, My son had Elizabeth for summer tutoring in math and Spanish. She was terrific. read more

I have been very happy with Study Hut tutoring. Not only have my daughter's grades gone up but her confidence has grown by leaps and bounds! I am completely impressed with Samantha. She has worked with me to accommodate our schedule AND finding the right tutor for my daughter. We have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the staff at Study Hut. The parking can be tough your first time there if you walk your child in as I did. After our first time though, my very shy daughter was comfortable enough to be dropped off. What I like about Study Hut is they are flexible and will work with you and your child/student to make things work. It took a few sessions for things to settle in and figure out the most effective way to utilize the time. This included general tutoring for one of our children and college prep for another. In each case we received positive results and each child had a positive outlook on going to Study Hut. That is, no resistance or anything along those lines. Study Hut has been very flexible and helpful in that if a tutor is sick or otherwise unable to come to work, they will reschedule, but often with a different tutor. The good news is we can continue to have sessions and not have to skip one. The down side is there is definitely a loss of effectiveness when jumping from one tutor to another. The price is much higher than if you found a good college student on your own, but you are paying for flexibility, availability of a variety of tutors, etc. Overall, we are happy with the results from Study Hut. read more

Both my sons go to Study Hut., one is in 7th grade, the other in 11th. They are fantastic at matching up students with a fitting tutor. The administration is really friendly and easy to talk to, so I never had a problem scheduling, calling in and checking in with what the tutors thoughts on progress was.
